Ridiculous price.
Agreed. The bronco was described to me once saying it was ford's attempt to copy the wrangler using office supplies. Ever since then and every test drive I've done I can't help but feel the cheapness of the bronco, and adding the insulting price that's being asked is I sane they even sell.
Not really when you consider what it’s capable of
Definitely better than a jeep
Yup. I noticed in 2022 Ford got really greedy and marked all of their vehicles way up because of the demand. Now in 2024, a prominent dealership across the street from me isn't moving any of these vehicles, including the 3 Raptors they've been sitting on for what seems like months, even with discounts.
@@munchies24yeah, it comes much better equipped than a Toyota for a similar price.
I love this trail! thanks a lot, Ryan!
Excellent video, again, Ryan. Great intro to an awesome package. To all my fans out there, Christmas is coming?????? Just sayin'...
Lobster 🤣 outstanding video, looks like a fun machine to conquer that course with love the color. I would definitely choose a 2 door Bronco over the Jeep Wrangler.
Ryan, For crying out loud, how can they let such a capable 4X4 leave the factory without skid plates? 😧
You can get factory ones if you option the capable steel bumper. I added both the transmission and transfer case after market skids to mine.
Another great video, Ryan. As Washington off-road newbie I always learn so much from your content. Really good point about the lack of underbody protection here. Curious if for a similar price you think a non-Sasquatch Badlands would be better than a Big Bend Sasquatch?
One thing not a lot of folks are talking about. The v6 4runner is still selling well with great options from Wrangler and Bronco available. Unless Toyota completely screws up the price, I think the new 4runner is likely to take a sizable chunk of sales from both models.
The 4Runner is not in the same league of capability as the Sasquatch Bronco or Rubicon Wrangler.
@@tylermacconnell217 As an owner of a modified Rubicon, you don't need to tell me that. It doesn't change the fact that every time I wheel I do so in the company of Tacoma and 4Runners of all years. Or the fact that almost all the times I do wheel I have to rescue either one of them. I've pulled Toyota's out of the PACNW woods more often vs any other vehicle. But yet, they sell incredibly well. If Toyota prices it right, they can sink their claws a bit in. I'm hopeful. I want strong competition.
Is it just me or is the big bend logo giving me the middle finger?
55k no underbody protection thats a rip off
25 years ago, a brand new Range Rover cost close to $70k and came with zero underbody protection but was one of the most capable off road vehicles money can buy.
Too many people are brainwashed anymore to think plating is absolutely critical on an off road rig. I drove a LOT of hard off road terrains at various speeds back in the day with out plating and never once damaged any critical components. And the vast majority of mall crawlers don't need it. All that being said, I am guessing this model is this way because it is targeted towards those that want to choose their own brand of skid plates and rock rails. So why have it already when you are going to replace it? Waste of money.
Honest question I have an OBW with various skidplates but I got it solely for winter driving. For those that get these $60k offroaders or big offroad trucks wouldn't it just be better to get whatever vehicle you want/need for road driving and just bring a dirtbike? I mean a $5k CRF250 would do any of these trails without batting an eye and if something happens it's not your $60k + main vehicle.
Not everyone wants or can ride a dirt bike. But I see your point
Arguably the best Automotive Channel on UA-cam. Unarguably my personal favorite automotive channel on UA-cam.
Great vid Ryan! Good to see another Bronco out at your course! A little practice, and the trail turn assist is a really cool feature.
Simply too expensive. These SAS cars are now easily over 50K to start with destination - Ford killed the base+SAS package and bumped up prices a TON across the range. Toyota's LC 1958's are at near 60K, people are saying 58K mid-size trucks (Ranger Raptor and well optioned TRD Offroads) are "reasonable". The truth is OEMs are going to kill demand once the new launch hype dies down with these prices as people price out a 7% loan over 5 years for a 60K car.
A lot of the price increases are greed and assumes strong customer demand - The Japanese YEN is very low vs USD, making it much cheaper for Toyota to import Japan made cars like LC to NA, but they are pricing them a lot higher than they sell it in the domestic market!!!
I like my Race Red, but that Rapid Red is something else!!
The sasquatch package should be the "I am gonna go offroad" package.
How the hell does it not include underbody protection?
I much rather have a Honda Pilot Trailsport for about same price. Sure it doesn’t have all of Bronco capability, but for 99% of other use cases, it is superior, and a naturally aspirated V6 engine, and quiet and smooth ride.
55 grand and they can’t give you freaking skid plate for an off road vehicle! What a joke!
still underrated channel. Great video guys
I would love to see that compared to a new Bronco Sport Sasquatch. They are priced similarly, both have turbo 4s, both have all terrain tires, but the small Bronco Sport has underbody protection and presumably slightly better fuel economy for when on the road,
We did reach out to Ford and the Sport Sasquatch wont be available for us to review until early next year.
I Do Not understand Fords decision to not add real Skid plates to a serious off roader, thats just plain Dumb... or.. GREED.
If you actually intend on offroading you get a badlands or a wildtrack. This is for somebody who wants a bronco to drive to the mall
If it included skid plates and a basic front camera for off roading, then $55k wouldnt be the worst if it also had the 2.7 EB engine. But as it stands now its kind of overpriced.
Plastic oil pan and no skid plates? That is the true and ultimate Mall Crawler!
Can’t go wrong with a Bronco or Jeep. IMO a Bronco Sasquatch is more capable than most jeeps. Rubicon in stock 33s may be very very slightly more capable than a Sasquatch Badlands but very close. Badlands has larger tires but doesn’t have the solid front axle. Rubicon with 35s is more capable but to be honest, most buyers don’t use the full capability anyway. That being the case, Bronco is much more comfortable in the road so I would go Bronco all day
Great video, I hope you get your hands on the Bronco Sport version soon
I just picked up my Bronco Wildtrak. I fricken love it! The thing is so nice and so capable. I cant wait to get it out on some good trails.
Wow the bronco can drive down fire roads 😂. Make the course more challenging, let's have some fun!
This trail is the best. I love reviews at this trail. Bronco with Sasquatch is pretty brave, Great review. Greetings
Why do all the Chinese trims come with the full digital Raptor dash? That blows.
That's a great 4x4 vehicle! But the crash test results are scary to say the the least! And, the reliability is questionable. Thanks for all of you're reviews.
The Ford Bronco Safety Rating from IIHS on the crashworthiness category is good in all aspects, except the head restraints, which earned an acceptable score.
Time for a Bronco VS Land Cruiser test...
Not bad but its no Wrangler.
let's do about ford everest
First of all: Exactly zero out of 10,000 UA-cam reviews ever tell you the payload capacity of the Bronco they are driving. From what I can find, it varries between 900 pounds to 1400 pounds, and that's a huge difference. For someone looking to overland in a vehicle with more than one person in the vehicle, this stat is extremely important, but it's nowhere to be found anywhere on UA-cam or in any of the Bronco forums: how much payload capacity does a 6 lose versus a 4; what about soft top versus hard top? One of these models can be had with 33's; what's the ground clearance? It should be higher than the 32's and less than the 35's, but that stat is also elusive; also, what's the difference in payload between 32's, 33's and 35's? All these questions could be answered if reviewers just said, "this is the model I am testing, these are the options, and here is the sticker inside th door...."
Now on to what everyone else complains about: price. It's good to see a Bronco review that isn't a Raptor or Heritage 1st Edition. I feel like 90% of UA-cam is focused on vehicle models less than 1% will drive. However, even this "base level" is insultingly expensive. Manual, non-leather seats; worst sound system on the planet; plastic bumper with no skid plates. This is a great no-frills model to build off of; if this was 40k, it would be awesome. You could then add whatever bumper you want, customize the interior to your liking, etc. For 55k, it's absurd. Like, insulting. You can get a fully spec'd out ZR2 for a bit less; premium sound, ventilated seats, more payload, similar ground clearance and front and rear lockers, and skid plates. Heck, you can get a Ranger Raptor for 57k. I get those are trucks, but throw a topper on the back.
Nice video Ryan! I love this course, when will you bring out the land cruiser on this track?
I’m hoping before the rain moves in.
Great video, what would the cost be to put armor under this bronco?
Google some options
Under a grand for the front, engine, transmission and transfer case skids.
I really appreciate your off road testing. But I'b like to encourage you not to use the old wives' tale that a locker distributes the torque 50-50. Because, in reality, it is an OPEN differential the splits the torque 50-50. Or, more precisely an open differential sends the same torque in each direction* -- ALWAYS! I recommend you just say exactly what a locker does, which is turn both wheel, or both ends (front and rear), at the same speed. And leave it there. Saying anything more, such as a locker sands equal torque or equal power, is just provably wrong.

ua-cam.com/video/_HOa0aRZYpw/v-deo.html
* One more stipulation: Some center differentials have an unequal torque split -- for example 40-60 front-rear. In this case the differential will always send 40% torque to the front and 60% to the rear, regardless of traction. I've never heard of a traditional open differential in an axle having anything other than a 50-50 torque split, but someone has probably done it for some really weird reason.
I like your videos, snd the trails you built, thank you.
As for the bronco its really an amazing machine, more ability than the wranger with the ability to drive it on road, and better interior and off road tools. As for the skid plates every other model has them or offers them for less than $400.
wtf with the price ??? I bought a New 2023 Camaro 1SS convertible last year and paid less ... silly MSRPs ..
Not sure what is going on, but youtube will not show me your channel in my feeds. I have to manually look for you, even though I am subbed. Loved your reviews, as always
Love your channel, but my gosh the ads have become EXTREMELY annoying. Like 10 ads in a < 20 min video?? Seriously?? Some ads at the start are OK, but when an ad suddenly pops in during the middle of the video, it is really annoying and totally breaks the immersion.
Anyway, back to vehicles, as someone else said, I would love to see you take the Bronco Sport on this test, sort of a middle ground between the hardcore off roaders and the Crosstrek, which was clearly out of its element on the harder parts of the course.
It's a typical UA-cam Q4 thing. All channels will get slammed with ads. It's the best time to get UA-cam Premium... if just for a few months. (No ads!)
@@drivingsportsI have too many subscription services already.
As an OBW owner, I feel guilty for wanting to trade for this. Great video as always.
i wish my 4Runner would engage the locker as seamless as this lol
Where is this course located?
"Outside Ellensburg, Washington."
Great video today! I'd pick the Bronco
Great video Ryan! Ty!
Great video Ryan! When will you take a Bronco Sport Badlands with Sasquatch package on the same course??
Ford says we won’t get a press tester of that one until early next year. 😭
@@drivingsports bummer ☹️
Unless you are constantly rock crawling, underside armor really isn’t necessary.
People if you like it just put some skid plates on it and shut up. Attacking the whole automotive industry on prices gets you NOWHERE.
Yeah, you’re exactly right. Time was you could watch these videos and appreciate the product without all the damn whining and complaining from the little pussies. If these broke viewers spent more time working and getting out of mom’s basement perhaps they could afford things.
This is a fantastic off road vehicle. If you can’t afford it, move on and quit spoiling it for the rest of us who can.
I was considering a 2dr, then 4dr Bronco Badlands Sasquatch, but the real dealbreaker for me was the frameless windows. I cross a 9,300ft pass to get to work at about 7,200ft, and if the window freezes, you're screwed because the door wants to roll the window down about 1/2" to clear the seal...and it can't. So, when you force the door open (NOT good) then you close it again and the window is now bent outwards and not sealing (REALLY not good). The vast majority of people will NEVER take the doors off, and will only rarely take even the front part of the top off and will have to deal with the squeaks and leaks. So, all those compromises plus having the utility of an actual bed made me buy a blue, loaded w/moonroof 2024 Colorado ZR2, and I love it. The offroad capability is the same and I lose a little departure angle, but I more than make up for that in the bed's utility. I plan on adding the Bison's jounce damper kit ($2,800 + installation), maybe some 34's, and a skidplate for the tranny (though it's probably safe WAY up there), fuel tank, ad rear diff, and that's probably it. I'm a noob offroader but it's already seen 5 full days in Moab and some other stuff, and the thing is amazing, NEVER feels like it struggled at all. Great vid as always!
