They should have made the bad guy in this movie an evil Las Aranias like that guy in Madam Web. Sure, the movie would feel like a Madam Web rip off, but at least we can say that Kraven got a taste of hunting Spider people because of it.
I feel so bad for my dad. He was almost illiterate for most of his life and he learned how to read mostly with comic books and Kraven was his FAV. I wish he got a movie that was actually good :/
Sony is on a war path with me.. They seem to want to destroy the villains. Morbius and Kraven were 2 of my fav and I loved Madame Webb edit The character not the movie
In the comics, Kraven, like Morbius, is a great and iconic Spider-Man villain, but like Morbius, Kraven doesn't warrant a solo movie. I honestly think an anthology tv series dedicated to Spider-Man villains would be so much better.
An anthology series starring supervillains would work well for just about any hero, Spider-Man or otherwise. There's actually a pretty iconic Batman comic series from DC called "One Bad Day" with each issue focusing on telling a dedicated story featuring and starring a particular villain, and I've always thought that an adaptation of that either animated or live action would be incredible. I'd love to see something like that also happen for Spider-Man as well since there's so much potential there, with Batman and Spider-Man both having some of the most well known and iconic rogues galleries in comics.
Last year, I would've argued Agatha Harkness didn't deserve a dedicated series. Any character can carry a solo story, provided it is well written. Kraven and Morbius were simply not well written.
That’s actually a brilliant idea for comic IP’s to who don’t have rights to the hero associated with the comic villain in question. I’d watch the shit out of an Arkham Asylum series following a young Harleen Quinzele as she interviews her new patients and each episode is an exploration of each character’s backstory.
The last minute plot twist that Sony could have had Spider-Man in all of these movies if they wanted, but actively chose not to, feels like the most appropriate way the Sony Cinematic Universe could have possibly ended.
Ikr? It's absolutely wild to me that they never even tried to introduce their own version of Spider-Man into these movies and instead tried desperately to get Marvel to let them use Tom Holland. They easily could have cast Andrew Garfield, especially after how much everyone loved him and his return to playing Spider-Man in No Way Home. If they didn't want to shut the door on having Tom Holland's Spider-Man appear in their movies by casting their own version of Peter Parker they could have used a live action Miles Morales or even Ben Reilly aka Scarlet Spider who is Peter's clone from the comics, either choice could have been fun and different from what we've seen in all the other live action Spider-Man adaptations so far.
For real, they just didn't introduce their own Spider-Man in any of these movies because they DESPERATELY wanted their movies to be part of the MCU and to have Tom Holland's Spider-Man be in their movies, but obviously that never happened and Marvel wouldn't allow it. Honestly, after the success of No Way Home and the positive reception to Andrew Garfield returning to play his version of Spider-Man it's crazy to me that they didn't have him return as Spider-Man for their universe. They could have just had him play Peter Parker in their universe and leave it at that, or they could have lightly retconned a few details and made their new spin-off movies be part of the same universe as The Amazing Spider-Man movies. I mean if they didn't want to use Spider-Man at all for whatever reason they could have at least introduced Peter's clone the Scarlet Spider and had him be the main hero that faces off against the villains; that could have been really interesting and different from what we've seen before in Spider-Man adaptations, and tbh I think Ben Reilly deserves the attention anyway.
You need to check out The Penguin! It doesn't turn him into an antihero. He's the scummiest mofo with each passing episode Now that is how you write a villain! Edit: you mentioned it already haha. Hopefully we can get an in depth video

I may or may not be first, but I want to wish Amanda and everyone else here a happy holiday season! And yeah, I have no interest in Kraven but I am looking forward to Captain America: Brave New World next year!
when I saw Knull in the Venom trailer I'm not going to lie I was kind of pissed. I really wanted marvel to do the king in black event stuff because Knull is legit like one of the most powerful villains in marvel and kind of bad ass. and I THOUGHT when Eddie showed up in no way home, I immediately went into nerd mode pulling everything together that they had the black knight, blade, and now venom in the works for MCU, which kind of made me think they were going to do Knull....... then MCU went toward Kang (boring) and then I see the venomverse was going to show Knull I knew it was a lost cause.

Gotta totally agree about the marvel vs DC thing;
While I'd rather watch something else-if I *am* going to watch one, I'd rather see the hilariously terrible one, than the one that's like watching beige paint explode.
The way I never thought I'd say I prefer Madame Web over seeing Aaron Taylor Johnson looking pretty 💀 I HOPE this is the death knell to Sony's Spider-Man-less-Spider-Man-Verse
Very interesting topic! I look forward to new videos from you! 💋🔥
I don't understand why they have to constantly waste time with origin stuff. At some point, you'd think we've seen enough superhero movies to suspend our disbelief and just accept that a dude is super fast and animalistic and whatnot, without having to waste time figuring out why.
Outta all the non spider films this had my most hope
Listen, I'm not going to hate on someone for not letting theater popcorn go to waste.
I blame Avi Arad for this entire crapfest.
Man this movie is so disappointing. Kraven was my favorite Spider-Man villain by far and its sad seeing this movie be how general audiences think of him.
I'd rank them:
1: Madame Web
2. Kraven
3. Venom Series
I may or may not be first, but I want to wish Amanda and everyone else here a happy holiday season! And yeah, I have no interest in Kraven but I am looking forward to Captain America: Brave New World next year!
I bought that same sweater for my wife!
Where did you get it!?
@beccs9669 it has been a few years but I think I got it from Merchoid.
It definitely makes more sense for him to kill poachers rather than being one 😭
This is ... this is just a Catman movie. Like it's a Catman movie by people who didn't have the rights to Catman.
Amanda would do anything but not go through the emotional trauma of Arcane Season 2.
when I saw Knull in the Venom trailer I'm not going to lie I was kind of pissed.
@2:45 no Voltaire... *disappointed dad look* 🤣
