These recent all-time console lists have been so enjoyable to watch. I really hope you guys continue with it. And maybe even rank other categories. Maybe an all-time fighting game list!
PS2 is one of THE best console with THE largest library of games from the same gen in a console. Only the PC has a larger library overall in gaming but not a console. The video will go all day haha.
Earthbound was mentioned actually! Just uh, very briefly, and mostly them expressing very mild shock at it not having been suggested. So still pretty shafted yeah.
@@ONIONxKNIGHT it was a release-order thing way back in the 90s. Many people in the playground were referring it to that. I think it's more of a European or Scandinavian thing, because I heard that name a lot with my close friends in Sweden. However, I prefer calling it by its full title rather than putting a number on it. ;P
It's crazy that out of the top 2 games in this list Max hasn't played one of them and hasn't finished the other. He also has never even played super mario world 🤯
Dang, my list would be Final Fantasy VI Final Fantasy IV Chrono Trigger Megaman X Super Mario World Super Mario All Stars Street Fighter 2 Turbo Super Metroid Legend of Zelda (ALTTP) Kirby Super Star
Oh but the nostalgia that game brings. I still remember being like 6, and seeing the coolass orange logo and the dragon seal in black with the night cloudy sky background in a flea market in Monterrey Mexico. That games brings a cool feeling from my childhood. But yeah, it’s just nostalgia based, because I did play Street Fighter 2, had all 3 snes versions of it (my dad had a video rental store).
These videos would be like 3x better if Steve wasn't invited to the discourse. Just constant yelling and complaining. It's nauseating listening to him.
Super Mario World and Street Fighter II should probably switch places. Honestly, my ps1 and SNES lists would have about 5 RPGs on each and my Dreamcast would be almost all fighters. But I like the variety.
There was literally no consideration for Super Mario All-Stars, a 4-in-1 of classic Mario remastered to a pristine flavor. One of the best collections available on the entire 16-bit category that was never offered again except on the Wii in limited quantities. The only way Nintendo is gonna put SMB1-SMB3 all together at once is a Virtual Console template. All-Stars was once in a lifetime. It should be Top 5 if not Top 10. Hell, there was a cartridge that included Super Mario World, so a 5-in-1 of sheer distilled Mario, something Nintendo will never do again.
Yeah I thought that too, but knowing them they would have shut that down and wrote those all off as nes games, which they technically were originally, but the fact they thought so little of mario world should show you what they would have thought about remasters of nes mario games. They needed room to make the top 10 be 30% fighting games for some insane reason.
This. I was absolutely shocked that it wasn't even mentioned at all. SMB3 alone is one of the greatest games of all time & it's INCLUDED in this collection lol.
@@philbarton2832 If the games were available individually outside of All-Stars, yes. But it's technically an entire game in the same way Kirby Super Star is an entire game.
About Super Castlevania IV: A LOT was misinterpreted and downright ignored, so here are some facts that make SC4 a top 10 game (Rondo is my fav): - It's a SNES launch title (most console game launch titles arent this innovative, revolutionary (mode7) and excellent graphical showcase). - One of the main titles to use and fully showcase mode 7 in terms of graphics and gameplay. - No other CV game plays like this (8 directional whipping). - At the time, it was the absolute most balanced ans fair Castlevania to play (no, C3 is not better). - Simmons said that Rondo came at the same time, no, Rondo came 2 years later in 93, on a CD system that no one in western civilization had, played or even knew existed. - The "Rondo is better" argument would be like saying that NO castlevania shouls ever be top because none of them is SOTN, or that Chrono is not top SNES because the DS version is better. - SC4 deserves a top 10 spot SNES games more than CV1, 2 or 3, deserve a top 10 spot on a NES list.
Castlevania 1 is a better game than Super 4, especially considering it was made at a time that almost no one knew how to make a proper platformer. The 8 directional whip works to the Super 4's detriment making it too easy and the sub weapons near useless. Castlevania 1 was designed from the ground up with a fixed jump and limited whip in mind. Super 4 just throws that away and breaks the game's balance. It wasn't a "quality of life improvement", it was a misunderstanding of 1's design. And the proof is that none of the classic vanias brought back the overpowered whip. Castlevania 1 is still a brilliantly designed game to this day, every challenge has a dedicated solution with sub weapons to help your limited whip. Super 4 deserves credit for being a launch title and having great visuals, but it fails at applying the classic vania formula.
Secret of Mana, Chrono Trigger, Secret of Evermore, Final Fantasy 3, Killer Instinct, Super Mario World, Super Mario RPG, WWF Wrestlemania, ActRaiser, Illusion of Gaia, Rock n' Roll Racing, Populous, Legend of the Mystical Ninja, Super Mario All-Stars, F-Zero, Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past. These games either I owned, rented and replayed over numerous times. I enjoyed RPGs no matter what system I played.
Donkey Kong Country 2, Street Fighter 2 Turbo, NBA JAM- Tournament Edition, Killer Instinct, F-Zero, Super Mario Kart, Super Mario Brothers,, Yoshy's Island, NFL BLITZ, Samurai Showdown,
I’m so excited for the great ps2 debate, but this needs to be done for EVERY console and handheld! This series has been my absolute favorite thing to listen to now!❤
For me this would be the most difficult even though I didn't grow up with the SNES. Lufia 2 definitely to this day still has a special place and Terranigma, too. One could almost make a top 10 list for every genre.
Tbh I love Super Star but I was begging for them to remove it after arguing about KI and MK for half an hour. Plus, there's not much reason to go back to the SNES title when Super Star Ultra exists.
I have a hard time putting any of the fighting games in the top 10 personally. I remember them in arcades more than I do the consoles at the time. I can imagine if you didn't have an arcade near you they would have been mind blowing. No Earthbound is a sin, that is a top 10 snes game easily.
I have to disagree heavily on some of this picks, Kirby super start its arguably one of the top 3 kirby games out there, that game was stupid amounts of fun, specially since it had SO MANY game modes all atached to each other that did something not every game its capable of doing, invite you to play every single one of them to se what else you could unlock, taking superstart out its a sin. Mario RPG was revolutionary in to many ways, it was one of the few collabs of the time that spawned a beloved series (mario and luigi, paper mario and so on), it was a delight to play with charming characters, a fun story and overal a great experience from start to finish. On the other hand how in hell no one mentioned Yoshi story? that game was peak, it had the best things of super mario world while adding to it on mechanics, gameplay itemand and so on. Sure you could argue that crying baby mario was anoying, but that aside the game was almost perfect
@@sufamidan1006 I understand why it wasn't mentioned. It was really overlooked, but going back and playing it a few years ago really made me shocked how insanely good this game was. If I had a list, it would be in my top 10 snes games list.
I think the biggest takeaway from this list is the SNES had one of the most robust game libraries of all time that multiple people could have wildly different top 10 lists. The crazy thing is that you could make arguments for a lot of them and they wouldn't be wrong. The only console that's going to have a more robust library to choose from is the PS2.
no lufia 2 on there hurts my soul, also no terranigma but i doubt anyone of the doods played it considering it never released in NA, also no yoshi's island but then steve would've complained again xD my personal top 5 would probably be ALTTP, lufia 2, CT, terranigma and super metroid in a different order depending on how i feel
I'm with Max that Kart shouldn't have even been in the running but it being above World is beyond wild. DKC being above them both makes up for it a bit tho 😂
Played unhealthy amounts of: Chrono Trigger, Megaman X series, Zelda aLttP, Super Mario All Stars, Rock & Roll Racing, Super Metroid, Donkey Kong series, Street Fighter 2 turbo, Bomberman 3, Top Gear series, NBA Jam, TMNT turtles in time, Super Star Soccer, Bikers Micer from Mars, (and one with robots that had pvp and campaign but can't remember the name rn)
Personally, I dont think i would be able to speak on this since I missed out on so much back in the SNES days even though I was born in the 80s. I only played fighting games and the marios at this point, so back then I had no idea about impact either. On top of all that, my parents kicked our asses out the house so we were always playing outside until the street lights came on 😅. That being said, I'm always here for the discussion lol
No one liked Lion King lmao. We rented it from the store or got it off some kid that was trying to get rid of it, played it as young as young Simba, got to the Ostrich, and got nightmarishly reminded of Battletoads Turbo Tunnel. Only way that game was fun, is if you went to your local Luckys or grocery store, and copied cheats out the Tips and Tricks mags
We had a crappy TV as kids. Bright flashes would make it shut off. Example: Terminator 2 intro when an endo fires at the screen. Was playing Castlevania IV at night with the lights off. The lightning striking the grave in the intro shut off the TV plunging everything into darkness and silence and I freaked out because being a kid.... love that game.
KI to me was absolutely Top 10. 1st combo system. Banging ass soundtrack. Training mode. It was meant to come out on ultra64 until it got delayed and then ported on to SNES was godlike.
No, it's an arguable top 1-3 game because that game's impact and popularity was insane. It was like Fortnite today and original MW2. Everyone was playing Street Fighter 2.
The only -ish that i have with this list is the games that were ports from Arcade. I remove those and place some games that were console first and or exclusive. Then do another list of the best SNES games based on Arcade games.
This SNES list is a bloodbath, but really entertaining to watch. All the games on the list are great, no way there is not going to be so many issues with debating. Still wanted to see Earthbound on the list T_T.
Too many deserving games didn't make the list: - Super Ghouls and Ghosts - Wild Guns - Pocky & Rocky 1/2 - Demon's Crest - Knights of the Round - King of Dragons - Breath of Fire 2 - Sunset Riders - Final Fight 3 - Final Fantasy 4 - Secret of Evermore - R-Type 3 - Sonic Wings - Top Gear 1/2/3000 - Ninja Warriors - Goof Troop - Actraiser 2 (NOT 1) - Doom Troopers - Maui Mallard in Cold Shadow - Animaniacs - Prince of Pérsia - Flashback - Nosferatu - Metal Warriors - Evo - International Superstar Soccer Deluxe - S.T.G. -
the snes has a good library. Very hard to put it into top 10. Max and his friends should give their own top 10 personal list after the debate just for fun.
I love the debate over games but im sorry, I'm convinced these dudes don't know much about games. Nobody mentioned Final Fight at all. And then they're talking about best port from arcade to console. Answer: U.N. Squadron, which by the way is definitely a top 10 game on SNES. The fact that Max thinks SF2 is the best game on that console tells me everything.
Today we chose violence. But seriously good list. Snes has so many good games that narrowing it down is almost impossible. Also even tho KI isnt top 10 its definetly 11th
Yall should play zombies ate my neighbors. Jet grind radio vibes in the before time. 50's horror inspired with banging music. I haven't played that game in probably 20 years but I can sing the music for like the first five levels...probably that's about as far as I got as a kid.
MK2 ran much better on the Sega Genesis because it had the debug code on the Genesis and it had extra menus for custom controls and easy fatalities. SNES Mk2 was so lame in comparison in regards to playing experience and quality controls.
I would put MMX2 slightly above MMX1. But both are Top 10 for me. Just straight up my 1 and 2. Still SNES is probably the best console overall, so it's GOTTA be hard to trim down.
It blows my mind Steeb consider Mario RPG on the same level as the Namco X Capcom/Project X Zone series when no, the problem with that series is that they were bad SRPGs that didn't do the series they put in justice meanwhile Mario captured the feel of an RPG while also blending in what people like about the Mario series, truly blasphemy & a real shame most of the Doods aren't RPG guys
FF6 (FF 3 SNES US NA) was robbed. Should be Top 2 or Top 1 together with Chrono Trigger ! Top story writing, best soundtrack by Nobuo Uematsu , best final boss battle music (17 minutes) , best ending music (21 minutes), 14 characters can join your party, Gau has 252 Rages to learn, Strago's Grand Train and Quasar looked AMAZING, and Sabin suplexing the train and Sabin solo support a crumbling house in the World Of Ruin makes Sabin the strongest in the FF Series. And Locke's tragic backstory and his redemption, and many more. Terra being the half human, half esper helping to bring Magic back to restore the world by defeating the evil.
@@Cloudcolin Oh no doubt, this is objectively an all timer, no one can argue about it. It should clearly be above link to the past, as good as that game is.
I really like the idea thats these top 10 might be very solid, but the thing is, you change country and this top 10 list can be thrown in the thrash cuz its changes a lot, here in brazil for obvious reason super star soccer delux is at least top 3 😅
Genesis/Mega Drive that don't include Snes ports would be Sonic 2 Streets of Rage 2 Shinobi 3 Thunderforce 3 Alladin Micro Machines 2 Toejam and Earl Shining Force 2 World of Illusion Gunstar Heroes Phantasy Star 4 That's a solid list
Proposal One of the bigger issues I've noticed with Simmons defending stuff like RPGs is most of the other doods haven't played the games in a meaningful capacity. That makes it a dead end for argument's sake because it turns into him effectively selling the game for them to play and they can only really give an opinion at a glance. With that in mind, I've seen everyone celebrating the games by playing them after the list for the anniversary, well what if we do the reverse? Make the list, try the games that everyone hasn't tried like Out of this World or Super Mario RPG, and then fill the checklist with nominations for the final video? Everyone's able to give an opinion based on experience, the gameplay videos still come out, and perhaps it affects the overall list? Kenny only tried Kirby Superstar because a member of his family wanted to try it and came away thoroughly impressed almost 30 years later
Street Fighter II is a fantastic game, and developed the fighting genre, but can you call it an absolute masterpiece in game design three decades later? Super Metroid, Chrono Trigger, Link to the Past, those games will be enjoyable to play and appreciate 100 years from now.
Here’s my question would you realistically go back and play mk2 in 2024 when you have mk gold, mk trilogy on ps1,n64 and Dreamcast, arcade classics on ps3 and 360, deception, deadly alliance, x, 11, Armageddon
I found Kenny's expectations for arcade ports for the SNES way to high lol i mean ports for the snes can't be a perfect one to one transfer due to limitations but even then there have been arcade ports that have been so fantastic on the console.
These recent all-time console lists have been so enjoyable to watch. I really hope you guys continue with it. And maybe even rank other categories. Maybe an all-time fighting game list!

Street Fighter 2's impact is the only time a fighting game didn't feel like a niche genre.
No mention of Yoshi's Island, Mario All Stars & UMK3 is kinda nuts. Especially since they love fighting games & debated so much over MK2.
SimCity not being on there is sad, it is perhaps the best version of the original game with Nintendo's touches of the helper and music.
The only -ish that i have with this list is the games that were ports from Arcade. I remove those and place some games that were console first and or exclusive. Then do another list of the best SNES games based on Arcade games.
I still don't understand how two Kart Racers got into the top 10 for the PlayStation and the Super Nintendo.
Mario Kart created its own game genre, Friendship Ender
I liked friendship ender 64 better personally
Dude I love Steve but these top 10 videos make me hate him so much lmao😂
kenny looks like thierry henry with locs
This SNES list is a bloodbath, but really entertaining to watch. All the games on the list are great, no way there is not going to be so many issues with debating. Still wanted to see Earthbound on the list T_T.
Illusion of Gaia 💙
Too many deserving games didn't make the list:
- Super Ghouls and Ghosts
- Wild Guns
- Pocky & Rocky 1/2
- Demon's Crest
- Knights of the Round
- King of Dragons
- Breath of Fire 2
- Sunset Riders
- Final Fight 3
- Final Fantasy 4
- Secret of Evermore
- R-Type 3
- Sonic Wings
- Top Gear 1/2/3000
- Ninja Warriors
- Goof Troop
- Actraiser 2 (NOT 1)
- Doom Troopers
- Maui Mallard in Cold Shadow
- Animaniacs
- Prince of Pérsia
- Flashback
- Nosferatu
- Metal Warriors
- Evo
- International Superstar Soccer Deluxe
- S.T.G.

Zombies ate my neighbors actually is top 10 for sure! It’s a shame it got cut
the snes has a good library. Very hard to put it into top 10. Max and his friends should give their own top 10 personal list after the debate just for fun.
Love these top 3 battles
I love the debate over games but im sorry, I'm convinced these dudes don't know much about games. Nobody mentioned Final Fight at all. And then they're talking about best port from arcade to console. Answer: U.N. Squadron, which by the way is definitely a top 10 game on SNES. The fact that Max thinks SF2 is the best game on that console tells me everything.
I got my SNES specifically for SF2 and played it more than any other game on there. It’s probably my #1 game on the system.
Hold the ffffffffffff on,did y’all forget DKC2 gave us STICKERBRUSH SYMPHONY and FOREST INTERLUDE?!?!!?!!im hurt
We need a N64 list next!
Kenny looks like a art/lit professor about to drop knowledge lol. And props for the Kirby's Dream Course love, nothing like it.
Today we chose violence. But seriously good list. Snes has so many good games that narrowing it down is almost impossible. Also even tho KI isnt top 10 its definetly 11th
1. ALTTP
2. SMW
3. FF VI
4. DKC
5. MMX
6. Super Metroid
7. Chrono Trigger
8. ST
9. Ken Griffey
10. Super Castlevania IV
Castlevania 4
Yall should play zombies ate my neighbors. Jet grind radio vibes in the before time. 50's horror inspired with banging music. I haven't played that game in probably 20 years but I can sing the music for like the first five levels...probably that's about as far as I got as a kid.
im still looking at it but i will be sad if DEMON CREST is not in the list...
..well at less they mention it...
MK2 ran much better on the Sega Genesis because it had the debug code on the Genesis and it had extra menus for custom controls and easy fatalities. SNES Mk2 was so lame in comparison in regards to playing experience and quality controls.
Am i going to sit 2 hours to hear grown man talking about their favorite snes games! you betcha
I would put MMX2 slightly above MMX1. But both are Top 10 for me. Just straight up my 1 and 2. Still SNES is probably the best console overall, so it's GOTTA be hard to trim down.
No Earthbound makes me sad.
FF6 not in top 3 is WILD LOL
It’s one of my favorite SNES games but at least there’s Chrono Trigger. Can only expect so much from them when it comes to turn based RPGs.
Always heard good things about FF6, but I never played it unfortunately.
Yup agreed
I really like the idea thats these top 10 might be very solid, but the thing is, you change country and this top 10 list can be thrown in the thrash cuz its changes a lot, here in brazil for obvious reason super star soccer delux is at least top 3 😅
Genesis/Mega Drive that don't include Snes ports would be
Sonic 2
Streets of Rage 2
Shinobi 3
Thunderforce 3
Alladin
Micro Machines 2
Toejam and Earl
Shining Force 2
World of Illusion
Gunstar Heroes
Phantasy Star 4
That's a solid list
Shinobi 3 is my fav Genesis game of all time
TMNT TURTLES IN TIME is way better than Secret of Manna.
Proposal
One of the bigger issues I've noticed with Simmons defending stuff like RPGs is most of the other doods haven't played the games in a meaningful capacity.
Kenny only tried Kirby Superstar because a member of his family wanted to try it and came away thoroughly impressed almost 30 years later
waiting for PS2, gamecube, wii, N64....
HOW DO YOU SKIP EARTHBOUND IN AN SNES LIST?!
Street Fighter II is a fantastic game, and developed the fighting genre, but can you call it an absolute masterpiece in game design three decades later? Super Metroid, Chrono Trigger, Link to the Past, those games will be enjoyable to play and appreciate 100 years from now.
Yeah I know they're a fighting game channel, but SF2 being in a top 5 SNES list is insanity
Can’t wait for top N64 games list lol
Where do i find the patched rom for Street Fighter Alpha 2 on SNES
Here’s my question would you realistically go back and play mk2 in 2024 when you have mk gold, mk trilogy on ps1,n64 and Dreamcast, arcade classics on ps3 and 360, deception, deadly alliance, x, 11, Armageddon
I found Kenny's expectations for arcade ports for the SNES way to high lol i mean ports for the snes can't be a perfect one to one transfer due to limitations but even then there have been arcade ports that have been so fantastic on the console.
