Nicely done, looks great. You could put that anywhere and it would look classy! The only suggestion I have would be that you need a cut out at the back, box it in then mount clips to hold your cigarette lighter plug so i wont rattle around. Again Excellent work!
You should try to do some type of instructional video that shows how you put the thing together or if you have a website, post the directions on that. I have an old Scion radio and I have been wanting to make something similar to this. Great work.
You just gave me a nad ass idea for a bad ass coffee table with 2 on one side 2 on the other side 1 on each of the small sides and a down facing 12... LOVE THIS
Extrememly cool set-up. please make a detailed video of all the parts you've used and how you hooked everything up. been wanting to make a box just like this but don't know what to do to make it all run right
actually looks really good... i like how you used power supply off computer..i would have not thought of that, trickle charger. sealed batterys off of a fish finder.. wow very impressive
Wow man!! Great Job!! It looks like you but a lot of time into it!! If your looking to improve, I would recommend just putting little gromits in the back where you drilled holes for the DC cable to add to the "Manufactured" look =)
I made my own portable car stereo boombox, but I think you put more effort into yours. mine just plugs into the wall. I used a heavy duty plastic tool box as the frame. fat max by Stanley. I used an older car stereo but just replaced the receiver with a newer one I got at walmart with Bluetooth and shit. I spent a good 60 bucks on Sony speakers. the whole thing puts out about 600 watts. it's heavy carrying it around, but it's mobile.
pretty cool. im making one with a toolbox as the box and the components are gonna be chrysler, i have an infinity head unit from my jeep, dodge dakota antenna, and a couple pioneer speaker i have laying around.
you would just need a power supply that has the right specs. these are easy to find. obviously car audio equipment is going to run off 12v power (because car batteries are always 12v), so you would just need to buy a power supply that matches the input requirements of the amplifier/head unit (both voltage and amps). you can find these on ebay, just type what youre looking for (eg. 12v 5a power supply).
I m very curious and would like to know what the inside looks like. is it just a straight up box or is at baffled? and opinion on air hole or no air hole. thanks
Cool idea, and cleverly done, but the end result is kind brutal looking. It's gonna stick out like a sore thumb wherever you put it, unless you live in a mortuary.
Something like this would be great for building into a headboard. I've seen headboards with bluetooth speakers built in, and with those you get cheapo computer-speaker sound quality for hundreds of dollars. A good head unit and speakers would blow those out of the water for a lot less money.
hey man nice piece of equipment u got there! But i have a question: Where did U connected car head unit's mass wire (usually black one) ??? would be grateful for Ur answer!
Nice set up. I have an aging vehicle and though of this idea if the day came where the vehicle stopped working. Love to make something like this to recycle my sound system that I put in it for like a work space in the garage.Todd
Im making plans to build an ice chest cooler boombox now that i finally got my hands on a atx power supply. Can you help me out with this couple of things? 1. How do i install a on/off switch for the power supply because the atx i have does not have a switch built in? 2. I wanna make it for home use and portable as well, how do i make a switch that changes from power supply to battery? 3. when i shut the thing off the memory of the headunit is wiped away, how can i prevent this from happening? i dont wanna set everything up every time it loses power. Thank you and please reply. P.S: nice rig you got going on there. but you should open up the hole for the power supply fan a little more
looks nice i made one on a floor dolley and a bandpass box 10'' mtx jac-hamer. 1200 watts amp sony xpd & 2 12v car batteries at 12v cheap 5'' speakers the ones you see at petboyz there free so thats good. all old car audio paid no more then 40.00$. & poineer deck on top my dolley was 20$ so it was little more then 40$ an added backup power for the house ac 2 dc 800w max 10w solar panel. its sounds good but it looks like i need to redo it all over i love that wood look. 30lb good.the one i made 130lb to 150lb or more its getting a make over.
You ask at the end of your video what we thinkg: Well how about music playing? drivers you used? how long does the battery last? Is this meant to be portable? or in home use? Is it good to take to the beach?
If you crank up the bass on that head unit your head unit is gonna rattle also if the head unit isn't mounted securely then the vibration from the bass being turned up will make the head unit come loose from the box so be careful when cranking up the bass on the head unit
Can you explain the antenna part cause I am making something like this and don't know how the antenna build works, I just have the adapter but no antenna haha thanks
a like it pal av got four 6/9 car speakers 1600w amp car stereo jist need to get other little bits.will i need two or more 12volt battery. bike or car battery cheers pal.
I made one like that but mine doesn't look as nice as yours but mine will have 110 outlets on it once they come in the mail and mine has a solar panel and two subwoofers.
I got the idea from your stereo - and since ive benn messin aroumd with car audio for 20 years I thought I would make a project - 2500 watt portable bluetootth tower on wheels - and its half way done if you want to see it look at my channel
Nicely done, looks great. You could put that anywhere and it would look classy!

That's awesome man! You took the power options to the next level which is a nice touch. Wood work looks great too.
You just gave me a nad ass idea for a bad ass coffee table with 2 on one side 2 on the other side 1 on each of the small sides and a down facing 12... LOVE THIS
fantastic. you could make a fortune on these. Very talented and creative.
I like the handle and antena they gave it a nice touch
Nice woodwork job dude. I like that you used special trim for the top.
Everything looks great. The only thing I would do different, is put a speaker grill over the fan hole to make it look a little nicer
very nice setup especially the wood that was used very good design.
Extrememly cool set-up. please make a detailed video of all the parts you've used and how you hooked everything up. been wanting to make a box just like this but don't know what to do to make it all run right

Nice job! And I take no offense to the guy who said this beats a plastic toolbox any day! I have some new boombox projects in the works, stay tuned...
Nice carpentry work, sir.
look really good mate. just wanted to ask what wires did you hook up to connect the cigarett lighter
One question. Did you install any fuses inside of the box to prevent overload and protect your components?
He means utility / outlet power. Which is known as "mains power" in the UK.
He still has it it is in his office and it still works
That looks very nice! You must have spent a lot of time to build it

Nice wood work.... Should have used that diaper box for a COOL factor tho.....
I m very curious and would like to know what the inside looks like. is it just a straight up box or is at baffled? and opinion on air hole or no air hole. thanks
this is a genius project mate! i was thinking of doing the same with my old car stereo
Cool idea, and cleverly done, but the end result is kind brutal looking. It's gonna stick out like a sore thumb wherever you put it, unless you live in a mortuary.

Nice Build ! Thanks for sharing.
i am really curious on how you keep the battery charged up and how often do you have to charge?
hey man nice piece of equipment u got there! But i have a question: Where did U connected car head unit's mass wire (usually black one) ???
would be grateful for Ur answer!
If you use a 12v battery just connect it to the - on the battery :)
Cool project..! Thumbs up..

oh ok thaks.
is it possible to wire it on a power suply or will it be to much?
Nice man! I want to use a head unit inside an old stereo console....cool to see people ding this.
indeed i really like this, jvc and pioneer are the best
Nice bit of engineering!
looks really nice, i built a boombox out of 2 1inch twttwers and 6.5 inch woofers and it broke sadly
If you crank up the bass on that head unit your head unit is gonna rattle also if the head unit isn't mounted securely then the vibration from the bass being turned up will make the head unit come loose from the box so be careful when cranking up the bass on the head unit
I was just thinking about building somthing like this and I found your video. Let me just say. Good job! men. How long will the battery last?
Can you explain the antenna part cause I am making something like this and don't know how the antenna build works, I just have the adapter but no antenna haha thanks
I like it good job
You did an awesome job with this. Can you draw up a schematic so i can build one?
thts cool is the head unit connected straight to the battery
how did you hook up your trickle charger along with the PSU ?
Can you send me a wiring diagram on how you charge your batteries, ac to school, etc...?
That's awesome can you send me a parts list as well as a cut list?
Wow that's amazing man.
thats amazing can i call u and ask a bunch of questions now? lol
This is pretty fuckin cool dude
Simple and efficient design.
that is nice man
How did you get power on the car stereo
We have the exact same radio
Nice
How do you get the ideas to power it? this looks like what I am doing but I don't know how to power

Isn't it missing a mustache? :)
Very nice thanks for posting!

This is amazing
How many watts that would be pulling at a mid volume ?
I asked him and he said I don’t know
That's is amazing just the way it isssssssssss
Sweet
What was the battery u are using
mikeymouse1985 12 volt 7ah
i made one like this with 2 400w amps and 4 6x9 speakers.
I made one like that but mine doesn't look as nice as yours but mine will have 110 outlets on it once they come in the mail and mine has a solar panel and two subwoofers.
how much did you spend
Can you email the wiring instructions or diagram I like how it's 12v or AC . Maybe even some build instructions. Thank you.
Nice! a boombox where i can also bury my cat in
I got the idea from your stereo - and since ive benn messin aroumd with car audio for 20 years I thought I would make a project - 2500 watt portable bluetootth tower on wheels - and its half way done if you want to see it look at my channel
its so cool
Nice - tops a plastic tool box any day
turn it up !
It looks like David Guetta's coffin.
I bought a radio just like that a jvc kd-r206 or yours is anjvc kd-r306
good
Hey man! I going buit one!
Parnell Tousaint so apparently if you crank up the bass on the head unit it makes the head unit rattle
Nice
rich hillbilly style
Y donut you just make a video for building so I can make one for my self .😈
Where's the tut
