So good to see a real diy Bluetooth speaker build. No fancy equipment, tools most guys would have out in their sheds. Good job!

Great job! I built mine out of an old microwave. I wanted to make a modernized 80's boom box. I used a battery from a electric bike with those 18650 batteries, Android touchscreen AC Am/Fm radio. Had to use a power balancer and ac dc converter. My build was a bit more complicated but this is a great simple version.
Quick edit: the microwave was cut up and welded into the shape using all but the front panel and door.

I built one from 19mm MDF with 4 6x9s, a 10" Polk subwoofer, 600watt amp, Bluetooth car headunit, and tower computer supply with all of the 12v outputs soldered together

A friend and I both built ourselves one of these in the 80's, man they played louder than any boombox at the time, plus they were great for parties. 🤩👍

That gap where the speaker is 😱😱😱 that would bug the shit out of me if I build one. I would try to make one but like a clear box and hook some color LEDs inside. Be sick to pack around.

Anos 80 no Brasil era comum auto rádio com sistema de gaveta, então existia um equipamento idêntico a esse, com falantes e telas Bosch e um lugar para o rádio com gaveta. Tirava do carro e colocava em casa, tinha um som ótimo.

Gotta say, you’re pretty good with that jig saw. I thought it was gonna be jagged and crooked, but your speaker holes turned out nice. I like the battery and charger as well, make it easy to take on the go. You plan on painting it?

  • @micahnightwolf
    @micahnightwolf 3 роки тому +5

Sound could possibly be improved by building resonator chambers with ports (holes) in them to boost bass. Also, there's no need for a switch connected to the charger line. Maybe connect it to the Illumination line on the radio so you can turn its key lights on and off.

    • @joshuawilcox1322

No it wouldn't. Most of these radios are made to use anywhere from around 10 to 14.5 volts. In your car the normal battery voltage is 12 volts but around 14 when driving.

    Mnogo ima nedostataka..
    1. Kontrola punjenja baterija.(ovako je mnogo opasno, moze doci do explozije i zapaljenja baterije)
    2. Spuzvasta izolacija unutar kutije
    3. Otvor za zrak iz kutije.
    4. Sastavi ovakvih kutija se moraju lijepiti i ojacavati letvicama.jer proizvode los zvuk.

You connected two batteries in parallel, you made a mistake so that it would last longer, it didn't happen recently, one of the batteries breaks down, they are dry batteries. power does not last, instead of dry battery, 18650 batteries are connected to each other with polarity and you need to provide a Bms balance card....

The idea itself is good, I'm doing such stuff on my own.
But the quality of this build is horrifying in my eyes. The measuring, cutting and wiring are scary. No gaskets or sealing, that results in poor sound.
Theres no need for ports, but separate chambers for the speakers and a bit of insulation would improve the box easily.
