I’m glad you like it, I’m afraid to say though that this is just mats laid on top of each other. It’s all just a quick scene I made up to film. When I get my own place I will make a proper layout 👍
@@mralfpit As someone who is setting up their first HO scale layout this year, it looks perfect for a beginner such as myself! A grass mat was always a certainty, but now that I see there's an option for a ballast mat too, I may look into that. Thanks!
Very nice. Are Annie and Clarabel the ones from the battery-powered set, adapted to run on regular track? Also, any plans to get the Bachmann models of Edward, Toby, and the China Clay Twins?
Thanks and yes they are the battery powered ones, I made a video about how I converted them. And no I’m not really interested in getting them although that could change at some point in the future I’m not a big fan of their motors. I had to make do with the Scottish twins and Mavis though although I might make customs in the future if my skills get better or have them commissioned.
@@mralfpit Thought so, and I'll have to check that out. Frankly, Hornby are utter idiots for never having converted the battery-powered Annie and Clarabel themselves. It's true that Edward and Toby leave something to be desired in the motor department, as does Mavis. Although motors can be changed (Toby would probably be the easiest to do so with)... Based on reviews, Donald and Douglas' motors are loads better; on par with Hornby stuff. And the China Clay twins are at least decent. Mavis would be pretty easy to do your own of, you'd just need the Dapol Class 04 kit and a powered chassis for it.
@@ZeldaTheSwordsman Yeah I don’t know why Hornby didn’t use them to replace the Caledonian Annie & Clarabel. The Bachmann Edward has problem losing connection due to its pickups, the Bachmann lot are good but I grew up with Hornby so I wanted collect them. I have all the Thomas engines & stock I wanted so I probably won’t get any more I collect model trains in general but I wanted to show off my Thomas stuff on YT

@@timelord8472 of course! You could always buy the mats and than cut them into the shapers for areas of the layout with a simple pair of scissors.
