- Thanks so much to Outlaw for helping Lee and I with this, both in the lead up to and during the event. If you'd like to enter a 2024 Outlaw event, the code "TRIDANxOL24" will reduce your entry by 5%, I'll also receive 5% of the entry cost which I will re-invest into this channel, it really does help me continue to provide free content, free of mid-roll adverts. Lee has better social media coverage than Max Neumann. 😃 Very well done! Congrats.
Lee very eloquently described everybody's first experience of triathlon haha
Haha yes I thought so too!
2nd in AG and 17th overall in his debut tri, a new talent has emerged! Chapeau Lee 👊
It's insane isn't it! I couldn't get out the pool on my first tri
Go on Lee. Top effort and great insight. ‘That’s a bit steady…” Love it 😂
It cut me deep Joe! :D
He passed me on the bike like I was standing still and I thought I was having a great bike 😂😂😂
Hahaha he's nasty like that! Hope you had a great race :)
@@TriathlonDan yeah was my first time there and my 4th triathlon I got 1:13:45 I'll be back I'm building towards NY hometown 70.3
Truly outstanding Debut Lee, well done. Next stop Oly distance.
I reckon we just dump him in at the deep end in an ironman :)
Great to meet you, Liz and Lee. Really added to a brilliant w/e. Not sure how to buy a Triathlon Dan t-shirt though….keep up the great channel.
Hahaha brilliant, great to meet you too! TBC on the t-shirt design, but it would probably have a cat on it ;) hope you had a great day!
I like my HUUB wetsuit but find the zipper cord too short. I noticed Georgia Taylor Brown tucks it in the front of her wetsuit so I do that now and find that helps a little. Looking forward to Lee's transition to elastic bands and shoes already clipped in. Lee can wear the fancy road shoes then as no need to run in them. Nottingham Sprint was my first OW triathlon back in 2008 where I got overtaken by a chap in a full Tuxedo and bow tie!
I tend to fold mine up into the zip, the HUUB one's come apart at the top which I think it patented, but you can't do anything when you can't see straight can you haha. I'm not, transition is the only edge I have on him!
Well done Lee, you are now one of us 😜 Big things to come 💪
haha we've got him now Stu!
Good to see you Dan. Well done Lee had he took the medal off yet 😂😂😂😂😂
Great to see you mate! hahaha I don't think so, hope he wears it swimming on Thursday ;)
Lee's an absolute boss. Great to see his happy, smiley face switch to his game face. Proper! 👊
Oh yeah he can flip it can't he! Cheers :)
Massive congratulations to Lee for his first race. I've been away from the channel and the sport for a few months but this has made me want to get back and do something once recovered from my surgery
Great video Dan
I’m really happy to hear that. A large reason for making this video was to encourage participation. Let me know how your first event back goes once you’ve completed it 💪🏻
This is awesome to hear, hope you have a smooth recovery and return to the sport :)
Smashed it Lee 👏
Cheers!
Great watch - amazing to see another person entering the world of triathlon! Well done Lee
Thanks Alex! Did you not make it? Next time buddy
Well Done Lee. Great video Dan. 😊
Thanks Steve :)
Well done Lee smashed it
Cheers pal x
Good work Lee... 😁👏👏👍
Thank you! Cheers!
Fantastic Lee, listen to Dan, keep pushing 💪🏻👏
He's much too good to be listening to me now mate! Cheers :D
Well done Lee 💪
Hahaha that he has! Cheers :)
The big day we've all been waiting for! Great effort Lee!! I used get nauseous from open water swims, but now I use these gel ear plugs and it's totally fixed the issue! Might be worth testing out :)
Great tip Jason. I’ll give it a go, thanks.
Stop giving him tips! This progression is happening far too fast for my liking :D
Just brilliant, well done Lee👏👏
Cheers Ash 🏊♂️
Thanks swim coach Ash! :D
not a pretty sight seeing me get out the water haha
Hahahah the swim doesn't do anyone any favours! Well done though :)
That mass start 🤢 well done Lee!
I know right, I made sure I was nearish to the back so I wasn’t in everyone’s way. Then I passed them all on the bike 🤪🤣
Mass starts feel a distant memory don't they!
Well done Lee, did he buy a TT bike pre doing his first tri? That’s big commitment
Thanks very much! Lee was already a keen cyclist and TT rider, so he already had the bike thankfully. It’s such a big outlay to get into the sport isn’t it
@@TriathlonDan ya done my first sprint tri last month myself on a cheap road bike I bought last year after starting cycling. Big dilemma I have next year will be whether to upgrade to a nice road bike or TT bike.
@@Shane_Finnegan brilliant, I’d go for a road bike every time. Much more usable and you get more for your money. My TT bike sits on the wall aside from 5-6 times per year, complete waste. I did the 70.3 relay on my road bike last week and really enjoyed it :)
