I'm a competitive blind tandem rider. dan, you've great skill in telling the story and editing. That said, being aged 52, I have a itch to have a go at try's, hence my interest - keep up the great work fella.
Do it!! There was a blind triathlete doing the half on Sunday! As long as you can get a guide, there’s nothing to stop you!
Well done to you both, your getting back to where you want to be, this year has been a roller coaster you got this buddy let’s go ❤
Hi Dan this video really resonates with my own feelings at the moment, I started following your content when I stupidly signed up for IM Wales 23, which I did complete thanks in part to your content. historically I’ve just done these events as solo endeavours but have recently inspired a good friend to have a go and surprise surprise he’s just naturally gifted 🤦♂️ we have signed up for IM Weymouth and for some reason both our goals are to beat each other which is something I’ve not had to think about before as generally all I want is to get around and finish, I really hate opening Strava and seeing what he’s done and constantly comparing our efforts which keeps leading me away from my own training plan and I know I’m starting to overtrain which is counterproductive. It’s a weird one because we’re also supporting each other as well and want each other to do well. I’m definitely going to take your advice and just revert back to my own goals and enjoy the experience and see how the day turns out. Great advice as always Dan keep up the good work 👍
Loved this, the rivalry and the friendship in perfect mix.
I think Lee is seriously going to shine at 70.3 distances and above! One more year and he'll be booking his ticket to Worlds!
For sure! He’s going to do the Vitruvian Middle in September
@@TriathlonDan just looked it up. Perfect event to get started on.. Only £149 entry too!!
My GF and I loved this video, great editing and camera work. Chris is worth the money to get this quality footage. Really good story telling and kept us both hooked for the full video.
I know what you mean about feeling a bit down when seeing how much stronger/faster others are. I'm no where near your level of experience, but even when I was a lot fitter, I was still finishing in the bottom half and nearly last in some of the races I did.
I even remember one race where I'd trained for months, bought lots of new kit, planned everything. I heard the guy behind saying "yea I was out last night [drinking], no idea how I will do as never done a triathlon before". He ended up beating me easily. That wasn't a good moment!
I stopped caring/comparing myself after a while as it wasn't helpful and just led to me feeling a bit demotivated about it all. Now I just train to feel better about myself and fitter.
That sounds really sensible. I too have made myself unhappy comparing myself to others and setting unrealistic expectations. At the end of the day, we're all just doing it to enjoy it no matter what level we're at.
Great content mate. The drone footage of the swim shows why it was murky 😂
@@paulrodgers663 cheers! Haha yes ‘the line’ just shows how us swimming really churns it up doesn’t it
Lee was very impresive. Great job!
I think there was a similar gravel triathlon in Scotland this tear.
Great video! Its awesome that outlaw are doing stuff like this! Id have been tempted to do it as well as the half if I could have figured out a way to fit another bike in the car!
Mega boys well done
Great racing both. Good to see you come into T2 with my pal Penny. She came 2nd in her age category and she hasn't ran in 2 years 🙈
Great video. How did Coach Ash get on?
Cheers! He did great, really enjoyed it :)
Great video.. How is coach ash do?
What powermeter for the gravel bike?
Cheers! He smashed it, really enjoyed it. Just used my Rally road pedals
@@TriathlonDan was looking for ferrio offroad ones. My road bike has powertap pedals.
