  • Video log of a morning trip with my friend Dre to Pine Creek in Allamakee County on Friday, July 12, 2024.
Pine Creek contains wild brown and brook trout.
The Iowa DNR introduced the Ash Creek (Wisconsin) strain of brook trout into the upper portion of Pine Creek in 2006, 2009, and 2010. This practice was discontinued in 2010 upon determination of a healthy, reproducing, and self-sustaining population of these wild brook trout.
On this day the collective goal of Dre and I was to catch at least one Ash Creek strain brook trout. We fished the upper half-mile section of creek within the Pine Creek Wildlife Management Area.
I explored the lower half-mile section of this creek over two years ago (Vlog #3).
