Leland, thank you for the videos during the tour. I really enjoyed all of them. Best wishes.
This is very nice. Thankyou Leland for your sharing, your caring, your humility and showing us your wonderful world
Leland, you have provided all of us an entry into a world that most NEVER et to experience. Having worked for Bill Graham back in the past, I've been lucky enough to have seen some of this first hand. But what you've given us this summer is something that is so much more. And this episode seeing Lyle as "Lyle the person" as opposed to Lyle the music star is even more special. In the time since your first episodes we have ALL been privileged to get to know a new friend and to have traveled with you on such a wide range of adventures. I can only look forward to even more of these adventures. THANK YOU for having shared this with all of us!
You worked w bill graham. What did u do?
@@lastnamefirst4035 Mostly security and guest services, but a little work on the production side (mostly after we lost Bill). Learning at the feet of THE MASTER was something special. The promoters today ONLY care about bringing in the money, NOT about the product being provided to the public!
Ditto ditto ditto. Leland. You. Are The most special man. I got to know your talents working with PC & consider you & Daryl “home slices” fellow Mwaukeeans 😉😘 I grew up to have opps to play with Prince, Ray Charles, Miles Davis, Don Cherry, Ernie Watts, Muddy Waters, Julius Hemphill, Douglas Ewart, & all the hardcore Chicago jazzers, Sinatra, Bobby Vinton, Barry Manilow, Tom Jones, Edie Gourmet, a few opera greats & many many other front liners. I pray someday we’ll work together before you go inter planetary my friend. Love,💯🕯♥️PamelaB
Leland's the bomb. Great channel/info.
I also worked for BGP in the 1980's. But I was just a Blue Coat. Worked over 40 Dead shows. I can still smell the patchouli.
The aggregate quality of the band is a testament to the musicality and intellect of Lyle Lovett.
Thanks For the Interview Leland. 😁
And Lyle Lovett. Thank you Both. 💙
Damn! What a great little interaction. Thanks for capturing it and sharing it here.
Fascinating tour, and interview.
Thank you Brother!!
This series of videos has been wonderful. Thanks for taking us along for the tour. Bravo 👏 🌹
Refreshing! Each man's humility is refreshing. They each are multi-millionaires and have been in a tough business for many, many years and they still show love and respect AND humility. 2:00 "I love listening to you think." Lyle's description of musicians playing is perfect! What you hear is really their thoughts! What an absolute pleasure it would be to play music with musicians such as these. Playing casuals with just anybody that shows up can sometimes be rough. You get the full spectrum of personalities and it could be a poor experience. With these world-renowned musicians they have confidence that each show will be excellent because they've hired the best to present a terrific show for the audience. Just listening to Lyle and Leland speak candidly of their fellow musicians and how everybody gets along so well is something to witness. Marvelous video! Thank you..
This was such a sweet way to wrap up this beautiful tour❤️👍
Thanks for all the insight into this tour Lee...very fun to watch
Nice conversation! I met Lyle a bunch of years ago at the Pro Italia motorcycle shop in Glendale, CA. I w
as having some work done on my bike and Lyle had a custom bike built for him that was getting some tweaks finalized. I walked into the lounge/waiting room and Lyle was in there, waiting. He reached out his hand and said," Hi...I'm Lyle Lovett." I said, "Hi! For a motorcycle rider, you're a pretty good songwriter!" We ended up chatting, mostly about motorcycles, for a good long while. What a great guy!
This made me smile cry. I have loved all of this.
I first met Lyle in ‘87 when he was touring as a solo act with Bonnie Raitt. Been a fan ever since. I became an instant Leland fan from his intro on “Doctor My Eyes” on. I didn’t know that was him at the time, I just knew it was cool as hell.
Such a genuine conversation between old friends. Thanks for sharing.
Wonderful videos and commentary along the tour.
I’am sure going miss everyone . What a joy you have treated us to. Thanks Lyle and Le. God bless y’all
I’ve really enjoyed watching , thank you.
Great moment of apreciation and reflection. Thanks for filming and sharing all your videos Leland.
What a delightful piece!
Joyful….joyous….we are privileged. Thank you both!
Wow, just wonderful. Have a safe trip home. 🙂
Leland!.... Lyle!!!! What a wonderful summer!
This right here is so much respect for each other. It has been so much fun to see all the behind scenes action and interaction between such great talents in the entire group.
Thank you Leland for taking us with you and thank you Lyle for the tour. ❤️
Thanks for you're making the life you've live so personal to us who've lived on the periphery of the lives of the remarkable people you know. May God bless you with many more years and adventures.
What a great conversation. This whole road experience has been so enjoyable for all of us. Thanks for taking us along. Will miss it for sure!
I was in the audience at your San Antonio show at The Majestic & it was there that I learned of your UA-cam tour videos. What a fabulous effort. Thank you for sharing your unique behind the scenes peek & extending our concert experience.
Thanks for the Lee Tours, was brilliant!! Covered a lot of miles..so interesting.. What an amazing man Lyle is... another great Human..
Excellent. Thank you. 👍🙏
What a privilege to be able to see all of this. Thank you Leland!

THIS was great! I have thoroughly enjoyed every single video you have shared with us. Thank you for taking us along so we could see the venues and the other talented musicians on this tour with you and Lyle.
We’re all going to have to get used to a different daily routine now the tour has ended. I’ve loved the videos and look forward to the next tour!
Lee THANK YOU so much for this tour coverage. It has been so awesome "meeting" all the band and crew and seeing all these incredible venues! I don't know what i'm gonna watch every morning now!
Wow! Just WOW!
Leland, Thank You for taking us on this tour. Love the "in the moment" and genuine gratitude, friendship expressed.
Safe travels.
You can tell we are privileged to listen to these genius understatedreal polite sincere gentlemen.
Two eloquent gentlemen. A real pleasure to listen to you. 🙂
Thanks Leland en Lyle. Loved following you during the tour. Love from the Netherlands.
It was great hearing the two of you talk about the tour, especially how the musicians play off of one another to make a really wonderful show.
Always figured Lyle as genuine, kind.
Now there’s shared content showing that.
❤️
I was waiting all summer for that hug.
Just wow. I love the music - but i really love the love - and that is the music.
What a warm, lovely way to bring this video tour to a close. Thank you for bringing us along for the summer! Safe travels home to all! ❤
Leland, thank you so much for taking me along on this tour! I learned a lot about the musicians and support staff on this tour. What a group of amazing people. Lyle Lovitt, what a great humble human being he is. I have become a fan of Mr. Lovitt, because of you. Best wishes to you, your wife, and the boys! If you are ever in Vermont, especially in the Burlington area let me know. I can share some experiences about the SF/Bay Area music scene in the late 60s, 70s, 80s, and 90s! Love you man 🖕
Id like to hear about your info on bay area music but how?
I see my coffee maker behind Lyle. It’s one of the best.
Lyle could make a picture book from all his photographs of the inside of each theatre too.
@Raybassman
I definitely see in the future Lyle publishing a Coffee Table Photo Book of Indoor and Outdoor Music Venues! I'd surely want one. Especially, some of the National Architectural Treasures where Lyle and his Large Family Band played over the Summer Tour of 2022.
Just to add to all the other comments here. Thanks heaps Lee for a wonderful 2 month documentary and to cap it off with heart to heart with Lyle. It's been an absolute treat to watch these every day of the tour..
Thank you for the gift of a peek into your world! What an enjoyable series these tour videos have been this summer! I looked forward to every post as the summer went on! Truly, truly, grateful!
Our 6th time seeing Lyle (in Shipshewanna, Indiana); each time is a joy. The musicality of the entire band if off the charts. Thank you, Leland, for sharing this!
Cute. It was a great viewer experience for me.
Leland, I enjoyed all of your posts throughout the tour and this going-away get-together with Lyle is the perfect send off. Very much appreciated my friend!
Two people who I really admire, for their talent and humanity. I so enjoy these videos. I've seen Lyle several times but never seen you Lee. It is a major bucket list item for me to meet you and get to share with you ho much your music and playing has meant to me and influenced my playing. Thanks for all that you do! Your friend Dwight.
My wife and I caught the show at Red Rocks this summer. It was a night we’ll never forget. Thank you for bringing us all along on the tour!
Thank you Lyle for having Lee and being so open to allow him to document everything. It was such a treat for us. You remind me of my wife's grandfather - also named Lyle - such a warm person. Next time you are in Colorado I'm definitely taking the Mrs. to see your show.
Loved the tours of the summer sheds and venues. You played symphony halls and big tops and I loved seeing them all.
Thank you so much. And 🖕from a fan.
This video tour was fantastic Leland! So much talent and such genuinely nice people. Thank you for taking us along!
Thanks to the gods of music for assembling this extraordinary tour, and enabling Lee to let us in for such an intimate view. Lyle is without equal, and I, for one, am grateful to have gotten a feel of what all goes into the making of these enormous events.
Great video, insights and heart! Thanks for keeping it so real in a crazy world, guys.
Incredible. Yeah. Thank you for documenting this. It was like I was there…almost. Without the bus travels. Which might have been the best part depending😁
Is always exciting to get tickets for a Lyle show especially when the Large Band is included! When the band members vary, it brings a new dynamic to the performance so it never gets old. In the 30+ years I’ve followed Lyle, it has been a delight to discover the amazing talent he includes in his show. I hope to see you all again. Thanks a million!
Thank you Leland!
i really have enjoy these video thanks
Thanks Lee !👍
I am really going to miss these videos ! 😢
You and Lyle are awesome! Thank you gents!
I get this 100%..when I play with certain folks the hair stands on end on my arms and neck,🎶👍...Leland.. thank you for bringing us along on the tour.. Almost like being there with you.
THANKS for all - absolutely great videos !!!
Man this a treat. Thanks guys. :o)
Bittersweet for sure. Thank you for letting us have such wonderful glimpses of your tour.
Thanks to you Lee for sharing the tour with us, and Lyle for sharing your time and music with us. Take care all.
i love that they still geek out about each other. As long as they both have been in the business they both are still star struck with each other. its amazing
Lovely talk with Lyle. Wonderful meeting all of the band and crew esp. Brad and Yogi. And the fantastic tours of the venues. It has been such a joy and a privilege. Thank you!
What a wonderful conversation. Thanks for letting us into your world
Thanks Lee for taking us with you. Thanks Lyle for visiting us here on our dear Lee's channel. He has introduced you to us many times. I live in Europe, and would travel far to come hear you if you're ever in Europe. Next summer? PS: I play and own a wonderful Collings 😊
Every night for the past several weeks I've looked forward to two things: #1 laying down with my 2 year old daughter to put her to sleep and #2 turning on this channel to get caught up on the days events..and of course picking up one or two or ten previous episodes in my quest to watch them all! Appreciate all that you do both educating and entertaining. I'll miss seeing all the folks on this tour..but look forward to the adventures ahead. Thanks Leland!
Leland, it was great to see all the behind the scenes video's you posted. And thanks for making me aware off the great music of Lyle. And you....76?!?! No way!!😁👍
How sweet! Lyle must do The Large Band again! I've enjoyed all of the videos and performnces that I've caught online. I couldn't get to a show because of family and other obligations but, next time, I will get there! Your videos have been wonderful and the camaraderie is obvious. I feel like I know Brad and everybody! Thank you, Lee for documenting this tour. Great stuff. Lyle's music is fantastic and we're all fans. We're fans of this band as well! Safe home everyone and thank you for the peek into the whole thing! XOXO! ❤
Very cool sit-down with Lyle....75 & still a young un' at heart...right on Leland....age is just a state of mind :)
It’s amazing to hear the mutual appreciation and respect between you two and your fellow musical company you have put together in your band on this tour. All of these musicians are at least triple black belts in their arts and makes their instruments like a natural extension of their body and mind so that they can all listen and bounce off of each other and create musical uniqueness on every single day. This mountain of combined musical talent and history is totally awesome.
Thank you Leland for the inside glance into the world of this tour. You have created an archive that will give lasting meaning and memories to this summer and the work of the craftsmen that are the Large Band. Travel home safely.
Thank you Lyle and all your magnificent players for a wonderful tour and album. The privilege was all ours in San antonio. Can't wait to see what y'all are going to come up with next.
Great conversation…again, what a “gentleman” to work for. Sorry for you that it came to an end, but I’m sure it’ll be nice to get home. Thanks for documenting this whole experience, it sure was a treat for us. Stay safe🖕
Great 👍🏻 Thanks Lee 🤝🏻
Leland, I’m always days behind on your channel, and I usually watch them on TV (better bass sound than my phone!) where I can’t do the comments section, but I just saw this interview and wanted to say that the WHOLE Lyle tour, the venues, the cast of characters from the band and crew gave been amazing! You must be home with Maureen and the pups and a laundry list of things to do. A big thank you from me for taking us on this tour!
Thanks again Leeland for this wonderful video series and this great chat with Lyle. This has been a highlight of this summer.Safe travels and have a wonderful homecoming with your wife and the boys.
Everybody listens !!!!! Indeed ! Sure love listening to you guys talk about music ! Thank you As Always !
Thanks for documenting the tour and taking us along. Looking forward to watching you playing along with some of the tracks.
Safe travels. 🙏
Hello Lee! What a most wonderful and fitting way to wrap up all of your nearly daily video tours of each venue during the Lyle Lovett Summer Tour. I looked forward to each and every one and to getting to know some of the band members especially Brad, Mace, Lamont and for sure Yogi. You took us all behind the scenes to see what most of us would probably never see. What a treat! And it was extra special for me having met you a few times during your book signings and getting to know you a little during those as well as during the Clubhouse meetings. I sure hope that I'll be given another opportunity to get together with you sometime soon to talk about this tour and to talk about how things are going with the Immediate Family. Thanks again Lee for all of the fabulous videos and have a safe trip back home to Pasadena, to Mrs. Sklar and to the lads. I'm sure they can't wait for you to walk through that door after being away since June!! Take good care my friend!!!
This why I love the internet - thank you so much for this video♥♥
Fantastic interview to conclude a fantastic series of the tour. I nearly shed a tear. Yogi is an amazing character, and all the musicians just great.
You guys just put a smile on my face and I start to chuckle...thank you both so much.
Sat opposite Lyle who was in the console area enjoying the Troubadour Tour in 2010 in Brisbane Aus. He had a concert the next night. Must be great when paths cross like this.
Lee, thanks for the great tour videos. Lyle, thanks for all the great lunch spreads
Thanks again for doing these videos, I’m exhausted for just watching the tour long distance. 🤪 And even though it would’ve been great to see one show live I’m quite happy to settle with The Road to Ensenada.
Road To Ensenada isn't that an album by Clapton and Cale?
@@lastnamefirst4035 Don’t know about Clapton and Cale, the one I mean is an album by Lyle, Leland plays bass on it, obviously. 😁
@@timokauppinen5238 thanks I will check it out
Two of the Best chatting together so warmly and obviously with deep love and Respect for each other…..Thank you so much
Two gentlemen...thanks to you both for the special view into the tour!
Hi Lyle great tour
What can I say. Two absolute gentlemen that have been the highlight of the year for me. Thank you Leland for introducing me to Lyle and his music, I have to admit that I was not particularly familiar with his work before, but now I have the full set. And thank you Lyle for bringing together such a wonderful band of musicians to entertain us in Lee’s videos. I hope that one day soon you can bring the tour to the UK. 😁
This interview IMO captures the true essence of what live music is all about and the magic that happens when a group of artists who share a deep mutual respect and joy for their chosen profession make a conscious effort to deliver to the best of their abilities night after night. Lee, the love and respect you and Lyle share with the band, extended families and audiences is a true pleasure to witness. I so appreciate you taking the time to compile these videos that enable us viewers to feel a part of it. As a fellow musician and bassist, my sincere thanks for being the gentleman you are. Your kindness, humor, and many awesome performances are a true inspiration!
Two, sincerely nice people. ❤️🎶
