Leland, you have provided all of us an entry into a world that most NEVER et to experience. Having worked for Bill Graham back in the past, I've been lucky enough to have seen some of this first hand. But what you've given us this summer is something that is so much more. And this episode seeing Lyle as "Lyle the person" as opposed to Lyle the music star is even more special. In the time since your first episodes we have ALL been privileged to get to know a new friend and to have traveled with you on such a wide range of adventures. I can only look forward to even more of these adventures. THANK YOU for having shared this with all of us!
@@lastnamefirst4035 Mostly security and guest services, but a little work on the production side (mostly after we lost Bill). Learning at the feet of THE MASTER was something special. The promoters today ONLY care about bringing in the money, NOT about the product being provided to the public!
Ditto ditto ditto. Leland. You. Are The most special man. I got to know your talents working with PC & consider you & Daryl “home slices” fellow Mwaukeeans 😉😘 I grew up to have opps to play with Prince, Ray Charles, Miles Davis, Don Cherry, Ernie Watts, Muddy Waters, Julius Hemphill, Douglas Ewart, & all the hardcore Chicago jazzers, Sinatra, Bobby Vinton, Barry Manilow, Tom Jones, Edie Gourmet, a few opera greats & many many other front liners. I pray someday we’ll work together before you go inter planetary my friend. Love,💯🕯♥️PamelaB
I first met Lyle in ‘87 when he was touring as a solo act with Bonnie Raitt. Been a fan ever since. I became an instant Leland fan from his intro on “Doctor My Eyes” on. I didn’t know that was him at the time, I just knew it was cool as hell.
Thanks for you're making the life you've live so personal to us who've lived on the periphery of the lives of the remarkable people you know. May God bless you with many more years and adventures.
@Raybassman I definitely see in the future Lyle publishing a Coffee Table Photo Book of Indoor and Outdoor Music Venues! I'd surely want one. Especially, some of the National Architectural Treasures where Lyle and his Large Family Band played over the Summer Tour of 2022.
Leland, you are a treasure. Thank you for letting us all peek behind the curtain, to know what it's like to travel & play on a 1st class tour like you guys have. Lyle & you are both genuine class acts. Go home, play with the dogs, sleep in & get ready for the next adventure. But please put all of us in your hip pocket & bring us along on your channel, if appropriate. Blessings....
This right here is so much respect for each other. It has been so much fun to see all the behind scenes action and interaction between such great talents in the entire group. Thank you Leland for taking us with you and thank you Lyle for the tour. ❤️
Nice conversation! I met Lyle a bunch of years ago at the Pro Italia motorcycle shop in Glendale, CA. I w as having some work done on my bike and Lyle had a custom bike built for him that was getting some tweaks finalized. I walked into the lounge/waiting room and Lyle was in there, waiting. He reached out his hand and said," Hi...I'm Lyle Lovett." I said, "Hi! For a motorcycle rider, you're a pretty good songwriter!" We ended up chatting, mostly about motorcycles, for a good long while. What a great guy!
Such a cool video Lee. I love when you get to sit down with the stars and just have a friend to friend conversation. It's clear how close you two are. Lyle seems like such a wonderful soul. What a great tour this was!
Thank you Lee for taking us all along on this incredible journey and the insights behind the scenes. This is a view that only a chosen few normally get to see. I appreciate you and your channel and all the venues and people that you portrayed over the course. Thanks again and can’t wait to see what’s next. Greetings from Germany and all the best.
THIS was great! I have thoroughly enjoyed every single video you have shared with us. Thank you for taking us along so we could see the venues and the other talented musicians on this tour with you and Lyle.
Our 6th time seeing Lyle (in Shipshewanna, Indiana); each time is a joy. The musicality of the entire band if off the charts. Thank you, Leland, for sharing this!
Nice! A Great Tribute and Closure. . .to the Summer of 2022 Tour Lyle Lovett Large Band. . . "Everybody Listens. . ." Love It! Such Wonderful Chemistry! Thank You!
Every night for the past several weeks I've looked forward to two things: #1 laying down with my 2 year old daughter to put her to sleep and #2 turning on this channel to get caught up on the days events..and of course picking up one or two or ten previous episodes in my quest to watch them all! Appreciate all that you do both educating and entertaining. I'll miss seeing all the folks on this tour..but look forward to the adventures ahead. Thanks Leland!
In 1976 I saw the Grateful Dead nine times in twelve days on their Bicentennial Tour. What struck me afterwards was how the tour had arcs just like the shows. It was so great to be able to extend the roller coaster ride of their individual shows into the larger frame of the ongoing tour and feel the changes in dynamics as the days progressed. One of the greatest experiences of my life.
Leland: I did not touch an instrument, sing a single note, help prepare the stage, drive a bus or truck but I enjoyed every single venue. You let us explore every venue with you and interact with your fellow musicians and crew to the point that I am going to have to deal with tour withdrawal. What a blessing these people have been this summer. My many thanks to all involved with Lyle's Large Band 2022 tour.
Lee THANK YOU so much for this tour coverage. It has been so awesome "meeting" all the band and crew and seeing all these incredible venues! I don't know what i'm gonna watch every morning now!
Such high praise from a great totally original artist is precious. If there was ever a tour that deserved a movie it's this one. Please make it happen lyle. Be well, thanks for the notes.
Thank you for this tour coverage. The respect for Mr Lovett as a performer as a human being has grown exponentially. You of course as always are top notch. God Bless both of you …

Thank you Lyle for having Lee and being so open to allow him to document everything. It was such a treat for us. You remind me of my wife's grandfather - also named Lyle - such a warm person. Next time you are in Colorado I'm definitely taking the Mrs. to see your show.
It’s amazing to hear the mutual appreciation and respect between you two and your fellow musical company you have put together in your band on this tour. All of these musicians are at least triple black belts in their arts and makes their instruments like a natural extension of their body and mind so that they can all listen and bounce off of each other and create musical uniqueness on every single day. This mountain of combined musical talent and history is totally awesome.

Hello Lee! What a most wonderful and fitting way to wrap up all of your nearly daily video tours of each venue during the Lyle Lovett Summer Tour. I looked forward to each and every one and to getting to know some of the band members especially Brad, Mace, Lamont and for sure Yogi. You took us all behind the scenes to see what most of us would probably never see. What a treat! And it was extra special for me having met you a few times during your book signings and getting to know you a little during those as well as during the Clubhouse meetings. I sure hope that I'll be given another opportunity to get together with you sometime soon to talk about this tour and to talk about how things are going with the Immediate Family. Thanks again Lee for all of the fabulous videos and have a safe trip back home to Pasadena, to Mrs. Sklar and to the lads. How sweet! Lyle must do The Large Band again! I've enjoyed all of the videos and performnces that I've caught online. I couldn't get to a show because of family and other obligations but, next time, I will get there! Your videos have been wonderful and the camaraderie is obvious. I feel like I know Brad and everybody! Thank you, Lee for documenting this tour. Great stuff. Lyle's music is fantastic and we're all fans. We're fans of this band as well! Safe home everyone and thank you for the peek into the whole thing! XOXO! ❤
What can I say. Two absolute gentlemen that have been the highlight of the year for me. Thank you Leland for introducing me to Lyle and his music, I have to admit that I was not particularly familiar with his work before, but now I have the full set. And thank you Lyle for bringing together such a wonderful band of musicians to entertain us in Lee’s videos. I hope that one day soon you can bring the tour to the UK. 😁
Thank you for the gift of a peek into your world! What an enjoyable series these tour videos have been this summer! I looked forward to every post as the summer went on! Truly, truly, grateful!
Lovely exchange gentlemen you both. It's been such a great catalogue of touring on such a professional and harmonious level Leland. So glad we have come along for the ride. All the best to you all for everything you do. Kind thanks from Melbourne Australia.
Hey Lyle. This is Richard, I used to drive for S.E.T. I sure miss being on tour with you buddy. You're an absolute gentleman and musician. You were by far my favorite artist I drove the truck for on any tour. Keep doing what you do buddy. Love y'all.
Thank you Leland for the inside glance into the world of this tour. You have created an archive that will give lasting meaning and memories to this summer and the work of the craftsmen that are the Large Band. Travel home safely.

The aggregate quality of the band is a testament to the musicality and intellect of Lyle Lovett.
This made me smile cry. I have loved all of this.
I remember reading an interview with Lauren Bacall where she described Lyle as an absolute, last-of-his-kind true gentleman.
