Hi Lee. Bob Love here. Good to see your video today. You looked so wiped out your last video from the hammock and you didn't post one yesterday but I know now you were at Paul Reubens memorial. If you hadn't posted anything today I was probably going to give you a quick phone call. Lyle is sure keeping you and Russ busy! And I know you both enjoy working with him so it's all good. I'm looking forward to listening to some Lyle music now. Have a great day Lee and when the time is right we'll talk about the next Norm's book signing event and decide if it should be before the end of this year or perhaps better the beginning of next year. Take care my friend !!!! Bob
Henry Strzelecki, the songwriter of Long tall Texan, was on the A list of session bass players in the 60's and 70's. Played quite a bit of sessions with Chet Atkins and Roy Clark. Also played in the band on Hee Haw. I believe he was killed in Nashville when he was struck by a car while he was walking along the road.
Leland, thank you for taking the time everyday to tell us a story or two that we would never experience without you. One of my all-time favorite albums since the mid-90s. Beginning to end. The pocket in “Long Tall Texan” is so deep that I hear Stockton Rush was thinking about charging people $250,000 to go down and see it. “Private Conversation” is in my LL top five. I wish that Lyle would work up Large Band arrangements of it and “Fiona” (another top-fiver) for the next tour. We can dream.
