@First Munch Yes! honesty really hurts some of these fans in denial, The Verve [a much better band] deservedly took it from them with a much better album, 1997 was all about Urban Hymns out sold them too (or the pretentious Pink Floyd wanna be's OK Computer) if Oasis split after this (like Bonehead had the good sense to) they would have been bigger in hindsight, the way they carried on with 3 different members since 1994, showed how much of a band they were,, after all they were not The Smiths' they in just 5 short years & have a perfect catalogue, 4 studio albums that just got better & better, a double album of non album singles & b-sides,, when Oasis carried on & still called themselves Oasis, I really didn't get it, why tarnish your name like that (no I was never a fan, just stumbled on this)
Be Here Now is my fave Oasis album. I love the others but for me this was their peak. Liams voice is amazing, love the songs, and the production is just great. I still can’t believe some people don’t like it, but then again it’s all about personal opinion.
Its a great record, I can't stand how people slag it off just because it was the period of excess. AND....Dig Out Your Soul is one of the best, criminally underrated
This might be age/gen related I was a mad fer it teen in early to mid 2000's and definitely maybe which was a decade old by then was still THE album if you were an oasis fan in the UK. BHE was largely ignored by us. It wouldn't surprise me if the energy of Be Here Now appeals to youth of today as the legend of definitely maybe and morning glory is lesser these days and Be Here Now is just really big and bold.😮
Just watched this and did not realise until afterwards that it had been made by another Oasis fan. I’m so grateful to you for making this and almost emotional and in awe really at all the efforts you must have been through to pull this off. It is hardly describable what a great Oasis fan I was and still am. God I love this band and this period in my life. Many, many credits to you. Live forever. 🙏🏻
While he has his flaws, I so totally respect Liam. Not afraid to be exactly what he wants to be, and doesnt give in to what others want, no matter who they are.
You respect a man child, who hasn’t learnt virtues of consideration, humility, courtesy et al. And he gets propped up by people who hail his deplorable behaviour as “being who he wants to be”. So tragic, detach the glorious music from the inglorious basterd would be my humble two pence.
Gotta be honest mate, I stumbled across this documentary and didn't really think it would be up to much - but fuck me, if I didn't watch it all the way through, and totally engrossed!! Highly enjoyable and kinda unique in many many ways! Thumbs up from me - top notch stuff! B]
Having to pay a tenner for an album not only fuelled the industry and gave record companies the means to fund and support mad creatives like Noel and Liam, not to mention all the wonderful engineers/producers/art directors who worked hard behind the scenes…. it also meant us fans valued the music more. Part with your hard earned cash, you have more invested in the music. Streaming has killed this model. Now artists make 0.00000000001p ever billionth stream, have to be their own producers, their own engineers, their own social media managers… and that’s why everything sucks now. Bring back the old days
A remarkably accurate description. Most of us don’t think about it (I do) but the era where a band gets signed & the record company splurges budget, against anticipated income from record sales, is over. It’s never coming back. Which is a shame. Remember “Video killed the radio star”? Well, the internet killed swaggering rock and roll, never be placed. Artists now have to do it all & pay for it as well. They wouldn’t benefit from a record deal, because the record company has nothing to offer them. As a result, we’ll never again see anything like what happened during the 90s. Gone. Blown away on the wind. As time has gone by, I think the Gallaghers were a terrific partnership.
Holy crap, I was a huge Oasis fan in America during the 90's, but I had no clue of the enormity of their popularity in England. I knew they were HUGE but not to the point of being constantly hounded by the media. Reporters would follow them at airports and their mothers home!!! That is absolute madness!
I was only 16 at the time, but it felt great to be alive!! Oasis & all the positiveness of England/Culture/Music/Fashion it was A FOCKIN' GREAT TIME TO BE ALIVE x
Being 14 to 15 at the time, I can still recall all this drama and the album release and all the hype and expectations behind it. It was such a great disc. This doc captures the feelings spot on. Masterplan came shortly after be here bow and was also great.
It wasn't a masterpiece, but I fuckin' love that album, as it documents a time in my life were everything & anything seemed possible. And, yeah, it has no bass, some songs are a tad long but that means nothing. The songs are class, Liam's vox are spot on, most of the guitars sound good. But, that's just my opinion, the album is special to me as I grew up listening to it & still get the same feeling of joy from it after all these years. Definitely Maybe, What's the Story, Be Here Now & The Masterplan b-sides album, are the reasons why we love this band.
My feelings as well I was 20 and bought album day it came out and went to newquay with two mates when I play this album it takes me straight back good album in my opinion radio had hammerd wonderwall and Dnt look back in anger we needed something different ,,,,
Better than whats the story in my view morning glory had hey now some might say cast no shadow morning n champagne supernova ..wonderwall was average dont look back oveplayed
I was 16/17 when be here now came out. I had just started going to pubs and remember putting magic pie on all the time on the jukebox 11-03 was the number on the jukebox . Awesome.
I was looking after Noel’s house in 97 whilst they did 3 nights at Earl’s Court, imagine sitting watching oasis on top of the pops on his tv as a fan it was mental.
Just spotted the £13.99 sticker for it in HMV in '97 - God, new CD albums were just as expensive if not more back then! But everyone used to treasure them before the internet took off.
I followed the band ever since MTV showed "Whatever" for the first time in the early 90s. Played the shait out of DM and WTSMG when they came out, and loved BHN when it came out as well. Still do. Great album. Not as good as the two first, but I still love it. Can't listen to it now though, the nostalgia gets overwhelming.
Not only for fans. This video shows what it was the last time you could think “you are free”. That’s all gone. At most, if you squint in the rear view mirror, you can just make out the last time young people (especially) felt totally free. Now, almost no one walks around outside, among other things, “having it large”. They’re too busy repeatedly swiping their lives into the toilet, mostly completely unaware of what they’re doing. Whatever it is, it’s not rock & roll.
Great trip down memory lane. One of the best songs inmho from the recordings only ended up as a B side to the first single. Going Nowhere...one of my favorite Oasis songs
I bought be here now before going back to school in brasil, we got it early here in the uk and remember my class mates learning english just to understand it! One of my fav albums cos it reminds me of that year!
That's so very true. I think it's an actual condition. I seem to recall a bunch of medical students were given a shit-tonne of money and a research study group to find out the cause-and-effect of this album on the developing pineal gland and it's associated nasal capillary widening. Sure enough, when played at a volume exceeding +140dB in a range of in between about 2000~9000Hz, a fat old line of high purity content cocaine hydrochloride is what 98% of the study group demanded, given certain test conditions, ie, a bit of blue sky & sunshine, the smell of freshly cut grass in the the month of June, the whiff of a 1990's pub lingering in the air catching you fully off guard and leading you directly to a fit bird with massive tits sat in the pool room clinging dearly to a nearly full pint of Stellar Artois whilst screaming the lyrics word-for-word of "I Hope, I Think, I Know" to nobody in particular.. I'll see you in the bogs, love.. That all checks out fine.
Loved this.. thank for making so much effort. I really like BHN. Yes there's too many guitar overdubs and yes the songs are crazy long but it's got swagger and so many underrated tunes. I think the sad thing about this era is that no one at Creation or Ignition bothered to realise Liam just couldn't sing with that level of intensity night after night without his voice giving out. He was too proud and too cocky to ask for help so he'd start singing and it would just crap out on him. He's not one to apologise so he'd feel stupid and just walk off. He's had vocal coaching in the last few years and knows how to look after his voice these days.
You did a fantastic job with this documentary. I'm new to Oasis and currently trying to learn everything about their music and history. So thanks so much for this video!
Just watched this kicking back with a nice spliff while being taken back in time. Any fan of the band that doesn't see this is really missing out big time. You gotta do "standing on the shoulder of giants". Absolutely brilliant.
Thanks Cigsalc. Good effort. I thought Be Here Now received some ludicrous reviews. It was rightly praised in some quarters, and absolutely hammered in others. People are now saying the reviews were wrong at the time. I don`t need to be told that. It was a bit of unprofessional Oasis bashing, mixed in with the album being compared to the previous 2. They were the last band that i truly loved.
This album is as good as anything they have ever done in my opinion....I'm gobsmacked some people aren't keen on it. The only slight negative is some tracks are a tad long but that is part of what makes the album unique.
Oasis at Knebworth 96 is a legendary performance. As a kid in high school in Canada from 95-99 Oasis were a massively popular band. Everyone I knew back then had Definitely Maybe, (What's The Story) Morning Glory?, and Be Here Now on cd. MTV Unplugged was a blown opportunity for the band.
imo the 1st 3 albums are all pure gold[definately maybe, whats the story, and be here now].be here now is just as good as the 2 before it.it doesnt deserve its reputation.
Just watched the first 20 odd mins of this 'Rockyamental-ary' - had to stop as need to crash out. I will watch the rest later. Have to say this is very well put together - am v impressed - well done for doing a stellar job !! This - absolutely stands up extremely well - as a sequel to 'Supersonic' (2015) & as a document in it's own right. Considering the massively smaller budget afforded this - in comparison with Supersonic - it has blown me away. A very professional - well researched, superbly put together - highly enjoyable - jaunt thru the post Knebworth - latter years in the story of the musical phenomena - that was Oasis. I've been watching this and half concentrating on trying to write this comment & - being - well - enjoyably distracted. This is highly recommended - imho - I give it - ten - outa - two !!! Ie: a fucking good watch !! Yaaay !! Peace !! Rx
looking back at it now it's amazin that they came out of all that paparazzi MADNESS,basically unscathed..many others have wilted under quarter of that pressure..rock on the brothers gallagher✌👌👏
Definitely my favourite song of theirs. I used it as my alarm for college every morning, and the first time I saw the video I just thought...look at how fucking cool they are and what a sound!!
i've just realised how weird it is that at 18:11 noels being interviewed in the toilets of some place. ive seen tht interview loads of times but never wondered why its done in the toilets.
I love My Big Mouth, Magic Pie, I Hope I Think I Know and The Girl in the Dirty Shirt. Sure, the album could have used some editing... But if you're feeling indulgent, turn up the volume, lay back and swim in the waves of guitars.
@Brian W The vast majority of Posh's millionaire worth has come from her fashion label and cosmetics brand, well away from her "music". The point is, with all that, she still isn't remembered that much. But hey, she latched on to a famous football player's coattails (and good looks and popularity) and milked a lot out of that. So I guess there's some talent there.
Spice Girls were a cynical marketing ploy to belittle and commodify the Riot Grrrl movement. Meanwhile, Bikini Kill and L7 have reformed and still touring because real rock music is timeless!
Fanks for your hard fookin work cigs, nice one. I'll watch this when I've finished work. And if anyone's got a fookin pLoblem with that, then a good fookin slap should sort you out. Cheeeers.

imo the 1st 3 albums are all pure gold[definately maybe, whats the story, and be here now].be here now is just as good as the 2 before it.it doesnt deserve its reputation.
It was a great album in my opinion 👌🏻
Yaaay !! Peace !! Rx
Great documentary this should be in the cinema
looking back at it now it's amazin that they came out of all that paparazzi MADNESS,basically unscathed..many others have wilted under quarter of that pressure..rock on the brothers gallagher✌👌👏
Good work mate, totally agree, great time to cover...glad you did.
"D'yer know what I mean"...great tune
Definitely my favourite song of theirs. I used it as my alarm for college every morning, and the first time I saw the video I just thought...look at how fucking cool they are and what a sound!!
They did the video for that near where I live. Beckton gasworks in East London.
Good film very enjoyable. Brings it all back just how enjoyable it all was.
I love the media's hypocrisy over the drug taking: "Rock stars do drugs shocker!"
I know, I was astonished as well!
Pete Doherty and his crossaint!
I wish I could make it into a custom DVD or Blu-ray edition, or back it up in case this video were blocked or deleted.
Do you want to download it ? If so just use UA-cam downloader
go to mp3?
This album is just FANTASTIC!!!!!!
Good doc about an interesting period for the band.
Love that album. One of the few albums where you can hear the cocaine.
The ‘stay young’ montage made it sound the best song of the album which wasn’t on the album.
i've just realised how weird it is that at 18:11 noels being interviewed in the toilets of some place.
ive seen tht interview loads of times but never wondered why its done in the toilets.
Cos he obviously being very 1995 powdering his nose !!!
Be Here Now was brilliant in my opinion. I know it gets a lot of shade and Noel doesn’t like it, but I love it.
I love My Big Mouth, Magic Pie, I Hope I Think I Know and The Girl in the Dirty Shirt.
Sure, the album could have used some editing... But if you're feeling indulgent, turn up the volume, lay back and swim in the waves of guitars.
Top documentary.......and yes I fookin love this album.
And here we are 25 years later Oasis is legendary and the Spice Girl’s are NEVER even remembered.
Brian W Hahahah true. Oops let’s forget about facts! Yep the OP is right.
Jokes man :) people hate to see facts. Of course no one forgot about them. They have shows and product lines. Not a shitty 2001 UA-cam documentary.
Oasis United a nation. Spice girls? Do me a favour mate .
Spice Girls were a cynical marketing ploy to belittle and commodify the Riot Grrrl movement. Meanwhile, Bikini Kill and L7 have reformed and still touring because real rock music is timeless!
Not arsed wat any1 says. This is a fuckin brilliant album !! Great upload pal 👍
This is absolutely Amazing great stuff man 👍i love be here now it’s very underrated
Fanks for your hard fookin work cigs, nice one.
I'll watch this when I've finished work.
And if anyone's got a fookin pLoblem with that, then a good fookin slap should sort you out.
Cheeeers.
ThAdonis when you listen to oasis once
Shut up you prick
That was so rad
Brilliantly done. Loved it.
The last of the true proper rock stars. What a band.
In your opinion what made them proper rock stars?
@@AlexFarleyMusic the look, the attitude and most importantly the tunes.
what about verve? verve ain’t rock?
Brilliant Work. thanx very much! Loved watchin it. Well done!
Well done actually. This was a lot of fun to watch.
