- For 5 seasons, Jason and Tawnee have been mentoring horse welfare organizations across the nation, and this season, they open up that mentoring and knowledge to many new organizations. In this episode 7, Dr Gina, DVM, talks about ways to make shelter medicine realistic in a way that works veterinarian and the organization, while keeping the well being of the animals at the forefront.
Thank you Dr. Gina, last act of kindness is a relief for the horses that are suffering.
Hats off to Dr Gina doing that emotionally draining and very often physically exhausting job with three children under 5!!! Total admiration 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Hello! Thank you for all the wonderful work you do! I have been a sub for many years watching you grow and create a lovely haven for horses and other animals. Every week I look forward to a weekly summery or a daily recap. Lately you have informed about coming changes in how you do things, I understand that a big part of what you do now is teaching, helping others in the field of rescue which is a natural development. All I wanted to say is don't forget about sharing the other important work you do. I love you all🥰
A heartaching job we admire you both

Thank you, Dr. Gina
Great vets. ❤❤❤
Excellent presentation, Dr. Gina!! 👏🏼👏🏼 Thank you so much! ❤️
Very informative one of the best episodes for sure.😊
Dr. Gina you did a fantastic job on your presentation. You explained everything very well in layman terms so you're non-medical people can understand. When using a bolt gun or shotgun I feel it's best when the animal is unconscious because horse's have a tendency to move their head around more than cows do, and if the person doesn't aim right... well that could be disastrous 😢
Some rescues should really re-evaluate what their facilities, level of care and commitment are. For the Love of the Hoof, while tender hearted taking in unhandled reservaton horses, doesn't do any taming of them and gives them away free or with little adoption fee. Wonder what their return policy is on these horses. Not impressed by them.
