- For 5 seasons, Jason and Tawnee have been mentoring horse welfare organizations across the nation, and this season, they open up that mentoring and knowledge to many new organizations. In this episode 6, Chandra Davis shares her extensive knowledge about how to prepare for, and mitigate the damage of, barn fires.
I had no idea that Chandra had such an amazing background. Great presentation Chandra!
The more I learn about each individual working at and with Horse Plus, the more astounded I am at the vast WEALTH of knowlege and experience Horse Plus is amassing to help save horses and other animals. I am so proud to help support this network of rescuers. 💙
Chandra is soo good to listen to. Iv learnt a lot just listening to her.
Thanks for all this excellent information. I think even non-horse owners can benefit from this.
JOHN AND JASON YOUR GRAPHICS ARE THE BOMB. 🎉❤

Go Chandra! Great and informative presentation. I’m so glad you’re doing this important work!!❤
Good job, Chandra 🎉🎉
That presentation was fantastic. Very important information.
Installing an overhead sprinkler system, and very loud smoke alarm combined with emergency doors installed on the exterior of each stall would drastically reduce the losses.
Fire proof walls and horse blankets could also be an option Suggestion; store all hay in a separate building away from all other buildings until needed...
I found this really informative, gets you thinking about things you might not have consider before . Best wishes from England UK 🇬🇧
Great video
This was a very informative presentation. I don't have horse's or a barn but none the less I learned things about barn fires I never knew about like how long it takes for a barn to burn etc. what a terrible thing for someone to experience experience 😢. Losing barn and livestock, heartbreaking.
I like the way you save all the animals you guys are doing a great job for the animals Nanette
Bless all you guys for save ing the animals and you guys are doing a great job for the animals and all you guys are doing a great job for the animals and I love you guys have you all have a beautiful and blessed day Nanette
I live in rural British Columbia
We have a high risk of forest fires every year
A good idea is to take a marker pen and write your name and phone contact number on horses front hooves
Typically we have race tracks or fair grounds a a staging area
In 2019 my neighbours horse was picked up by rescuers from the pasture she was boarded at
No body knew who owned her
I saw her when I intaked my horses
Her owner was contacted
So that is why phone numbers count
Typical to spray paint numbers as well
Extremely valuable and safeguard info.
Excellent and interesting presentation, Chandra! Thank you so much for this!
Jo
This information is so valuable! Thanks!
Great Topic. Question why can’t barns have fire suppression systems?
All good things take time!
Grossartige Präsentation, ich habe einiges verstanden. ❤❤Danke dafür. ❤❤Grossartige Arbeit❤❤❤😊
This is a great video I have a animals and horse Nanette
Chandra now I know you remind me of ! are you related to Jason? love your presentation very informative thank you very much
Excellent presentation and such helpful info!
Much gratitude!!
Good job, teach.
Patience.
Exactly. Well said. The first obligation is to the facility not social media.
Why cant barns have automatic ceiling sprinklers installed?
I know if you live in the north they can freeze in the winter but maybe there is a way to protect the pipes. And possible dust issues maybe talking to companies that sell sprinkler systems or someone at the fire dept could be helpful.
@jillsivertsen6404 Great input! Thanks! Insulated pipes can be used.
Hi guys. A question I'm a member and I'm not getting anything videos at all I had to go searching to watch one can you tell me why this is happening? Thanks so much.
Sorry if I had to wait for the fire dept in rural areas the barn would be nothing but ash by the time they come on scene. I am not waiting!
Why do we have to wait almost a mth to see
The priority has to be saving horses and running the facility.
They Are busy????
They do the business. The plan. The show. Priority is not „love to…..entertain youuuuu“ like Robbie Williams.
There is going on the big event of the year in presentation, Organisation etc. BESIDE the daily work.
We are visitors. We wait. Be thankful they „are“ and „do“ on horse rescue.
This is not for clicks.
It is for saving lives.
Relax 🙏
9 thumbs up right now for your question??? What’s going on with you guys😮
@ Thank you! Well said!
Well truth be told. They all earn money from there "donations". Pay their mortgage , truck and trailer loans. And themselves. It's not just for rescuing horses.
@ If you’re speaking about salaries, the staff is indeed paid….but not as much as you seem to think. It is all a matter of public record.
