    Was June Tabor performing on this day. I seem to remember a vide with the same backdrop and similar crowd.

    Did anyone else cringe when the guy took her tin whistle in his hand. You don't touch a musicians axe.

    Good octave tuning requires the bore tapering to become narrower at the bottom than at the top. If the Generation is a straight tube, you can find a way to make a long, very slightly tapered stick, or find a tapered grass, and insert it into the bore with the very thin end above the top hole, and the thicker end at the bottom. Perhaps 1mm to 3-4 mm diameter at the bottom. Uilleann pipes have used this method for centuries to adjust their octave tuning to different reeds.

    1/2 to 1 mm diameter at the top, 3-4 mm at the bottom. Hold in place using sticky tape.

    how can we get a good tune Tin generation whistle??? Will all whistles in a bad and noisy tune when you blow it at the very beginning?

    • @Ubu987
      @Ubu987 2 роки тому +1

      You may have to buy a few before you find one that suits you, but it is mainly down to embouchure, breath control, and placing the fingers accurately but lightly over the holes.

      @@SuchanDEJP Generation whistles have very good quality control, and they sound great in general. Even so, you may have a favorite in your collection that you keep returning to. They can be modified to improve their sound, and there are videos illustrating how to do so, from making them tunable, to filling the cavity under the fipple with blu-tack to give them a more stable, flute-like tone.

      In the 80s, you would not see the clothes because of a cloud of rigidly-permed big hair with highlights, which is just as well because spandex does not look well on most people.
