I am a retired educator from New Orleans who has lived in Ghana since 2011 and I was granted citizenship to Ghana in 2022. I live in Prampram and loving it. I hope you enjoy your visit. When Mayor Cantrell visited several years ago, she invited anyone that had a connection with Louisiana to a luncheon at the Kempinski Hotel and it was pleasure to meet our “homegirl”. I was the only person from New Orleans and probably the only person from Louisiana who is now a citizen of Ghana. My name is Glenda Simpkins Ganier and I taught at Cohen, Fortier, Rabouin, McDonogh 35. 😢

Ekow, you should visit the African Ancestral Wall in Prampram/Ningo. It will be an interesting, educational experience.

Or he doesn't even know at all, and I won't be surprised that he doesn't know about him because at his age, and his stature and his position in society, there's no reason for him to know lil Wayne. It was so funny and a bit out of place, when Ekow chose to ask a senior of that age, and of his position, about Lil Wayne. LOl.@@EkowSimpson

AKWAABA! Brudda Ekow. New Orleans and Cape Coast are officially Sister Cities in an economical and cultural capacity. Mayor Cantrell the daughter-in-law of Judge Cantrell, facilitated the official agreement and connection of these two beautiful vibrant cities. Historically, New Orleans was a major port during the Transatlantic slave trade. Many Coramanti, Mina, Ashanti and Fante were transported into the New Orleans slavery system. There are plenty of African retention still within the culture of New Orleans like the music food traditions and rituals. Yes, lil Wayne is from the neighborhood of Hollygrove in New Orleans. And most importantly my wife is a descendants of one of those Fante that were sold here. We would definitely like to have an interview with you. We can't wait to get back to Ghana.

I was hoping he would have delved deeper into, how interconnected Louisiana is to Africa. I myself felt the presence of the Ancestors while visiting, which gave me a greater urgency to visit Africa. So far Africa, Mexico and New Orleans hold a special place in my heart.

Bro, a few suggestions to improve on your interviewing skills: write down the key questions you will like to ask. You can then add follow up questions. Go straight to the point. Without prior reflection, you may just be all over the place. As a Teacher, I hope you don’t mind the feedback.
