I am a retired educator from New Orleans who has lived in Ghana since 2011 and I was granted citizenship to Ghana in 2022. I live in Prampram and loving it. I hope you enjoy your visit. When Mayor Cantrell visited several years ago, she invited anyone that had a connection with Louisiana to a luncheon at the Kempinski Hotel and it was pleasure to meet our “homegirl”. I was the only person from New Orleans and probably the only person from Louisiana who is now a citizen of Ghana. My name is Glenda Simpkins Ganier and I taught at Cohen, Fortier, Rabouin, McDonogh 35. 😢
Welcome home and I’m glad you have found peace here
Ekow, you should visit the African Ancestral Wall in Prampram/Ningo. It will be an interesting, educational experience.
Whoa Nah. Eh Les Bah Sista Glenda. I have a friend from the West Bank thats been living in Tema for 10 years or better. I'm from the 7th Ward myself. We touched down to Accra, Ghana just for a day. Can't wait to get back. Laissez Bon Temps Roulez Cher.
Mayor Cantrell? Smdh
It was prophesied that the Africans in the Diaspora will return home. That prophesy has been fulfilled.
And more will come
Welcome home. It’s a pleasure to see you in Ghana 🇬🇭 🇺🇸 .
Yes sir
He will enjoy our environment, and I wish him all the best
Welcome home folks.
Welcome back home, my uncle studied at the prestigious Louisiana A and M university, Baton rouge.
This interview was great and educational.
Judge, Lil Wayne is from New Orleans.
hahaha yes may be he has forgotten a bit
just wait for the next lil wayne diss track now judge ;)
Or he doesn't even know at all, and I won't be surprised that he doesn't know about him because at his age, and his stature and his position in society, there's no reason for him to know lil Wayne. It was so funny and a bit out of place, when Ekow chose to ask a senior of that age, and of his position, about Lil Wayne. LOl.@@EkowSimpson
You welcome Sir🤚
Nice piece 👌
AKWAABA! Brudda Ekow. New Orleans and Cape Coast are officially Sister Cities in an economical and cultural capacity. Mayor Cantrell the daughter-in-law of Judge Cantrell, facilitated the official agreement and connection of these two beautiful vibrant cities. Historically, New Orleans was a major port during the Transatlantic slave trade. Many Coramanti, Mina, Ashanti and Fante were transported into the New Orleans slavery system. There are plenty of African retention still within the culture of New Orleans like the music food traditions and rituals. Yes, lil Wayne is from the neighborhood of Hollygrove in New Orleans. And most importantly my wife is a descendants of one of those Fante that were sold here. We would definitely like to have an interview with you. We can't wait to get back to Ghana.
Beautiful story , but still a painful detail of black history in the US . Thank you for the insight ❤

I was hoping he would have delved deeper into, how interconnected Louisiana is to Africa. I myself felt the presence of the Ancestors while visiting, which gave me a greater urgency to visit Africa. So far Africa, Mexico and New Orleans hold a special place in my heart.
I greet u Ekow, this is a great interview, We love it, good job

Should try your best to get them there. It will be good for Mr. Eric over there with all the hard work he's doing, and for the judges and their guests too.
It would be great if you and the Judges could visit Eric McNeil out at migrating culture crossing...
i have to go there too
Lol lil Wayne is from Louisiana 😅
hahaha i will let him know , it escaped him a bit
@@EkowSimpson he doesn't know who Lil Wayne is. Does he look to u like he listens to Rap or knows any Rappers? Wow! Oh God, what a question to ask a man of that age?
Bro, a few suggestions to improve on your interviewing skills: write down the key questions you will like to ask. You can then add follow up questions. Go straight to the point. Without prior reflection, you may just be all over the place. As a Teacher, I hope you don’t mind the feedback.
Greatly appreciated
