This is not to be critical as this is a great video on the car . It is my understanding that the car shifts automatically at 5500 rpm on the turbo model to keep it in a specific power band according to the torque of the engine. If shifted manually it will rev to the 6300 red line . The 6 speed maybe a little behind the times but , in my opinion beats a cvt and is a tried and true combination with the 2.5 .
First and foremost, I appreciate the compliment. Thank you! And you're correct that the early shifts keep the engine in its power band. I agree with you about the six-speed as well, much better than a CVT to be sure and a fine transmission generally.
I just wanted point out that other engines have a softer fall off from their power peaks and I appreciate the higher revs. Same for transmissions, the eight and ten speeds of the world offer just a bit more flexibility.
Again, I think this is a great powertrain overall.
Great video on the mazda cx50 turbo meridian Edition can you do a comparison with the Acura RDX AWD A-spec a give me your opinion which is better
Thank you very much! You know I tested the updated RDX a while ago, maybe that would help: ua-cam.com/video/oSfUcbgQf5I/v-deo.htmlsi=WOqKmfO8f67VdlUQ
Try a CX-30 with turbo ...YIKES!!!
It is 14to 1 compression you are incorrect ....that compression was the reason it won the world engine award when it came out in 2017.
According to Mazda's spec sheet, the Meridian Edition's Turbo 2.5-liter has a 10.5:1 compression ratio.
Check engineering explained , the whole thing about this engine is the 14to 1 compression .....Meridian version , not sure but I 'm on it and will get back to ya .@@viewsonvehicles
I have looked at all the spots with this info about compression , Mazda engineer , and reddit articles ...new car add from dealer NONE ARE 10.5 .....they are 14 to 1 .....I own one and it is in the manual , your info is mistaken ...look into it ....the engine won awards for the compression ratio.@@viewsonvehicles
I believe you are thinking about Mazda's SkyActiv-X engine, which is a take on homogeneous charge compression ignition. The CX-50 does not have that engine. For reference, here is a spec page for this test car: news.mazdausa.com/vehicles-2024-cx-50
I stand corrected....not aware of the 2 kinds of engines....'G' and X'@@viewsonvehicles
