Dude ~ your instructional videos on the Headrush products have helped me tremendously. I have been a tube amp guy for quite a while and have taken my time dialing in 'my' sound profiles to be gig-worthy thru FRFRs. I am loving the Headrush pedalboard!! Keep doing what you are doing Doc. As an added benefit, your videos have helped me to discover Reverend guitars.
Thanks for this video. After turning the stereo width to 0%, my rig sounds better, and is consistent across different devices (headphones, PA, amp, etc.). Cab IR manufacturers have developed a solution for phase issues. They publish their IR files as MPTs which specifically gets rid of phasing.
Thanks Doc-I was listening to this video on headphones-when your intro & outro come on they almost blow my ear drums out-serious volume disparity between your recorded talk and your pre recorded intro & outro!
There are other people that have positive commented on your videos. I just want to say thank you for the information that you have provided. A really good vireo and good information. Thanks!
I like the option, but in mono I really like to use the split signal feature and go dual amps. One gets the ODs, the other gets the modulation. It’s been effective in cleaning up my rig sounds. For instance an AC30 matches perfect with a Matchless.
Lovin' your tutorials... good stuff man! Helped ne decide on which of these new modeling beasts to get. I tried out the Gigboard for a week, (and my cowriters HX Stomp) but ended up sending the GB back, to get the full version. The workflow on these puppies are just awesome for someone that isn't inclined to hook up a computer every time they wish to edit a parameter or two without squinting... that, and through the 12" FRFR cabs, the sound was far supieror to that of the HX Stomp... like they were made for eachother. hehe Anyway, great videos... please keep 'em coming! Although, you now have me refering to my Soldono rigs as Soldonyo-yos, now. 😉
Hi doc. great video, well explained. As always, your videos are very informative and understandable. Thanks Man 👍 ... Already I have tried it and the result is surprisingly good. If it's possible, maybe you could shoot a little video for Prime? (would be totally cool) and show with little bit more details how best to set up the 2 different amps + 2 cabs ? Maybe there are even better options on Prime ? Thanks
Hey Doc. Love the Headrush video's. I have a gigboard. The question I have is most of the tutorials you post for pedalboard applicable to the gigboard? Thanks for the help.
Can you switch between these 2 amps using this kind of format? like for example if I want to use a marshall and fender and just switch between them and not use them together? Great tutorial btw! Cheers
Hey Doc, thanks for all the headrush vids. Super helpful. I was wondering how I can save a preset of the 2 amps together? For example if I’m using the blue line bass and the tangerine ch2 together I want to have a clean blue line tone with no tangerine then a slightly dirty tone with them mixed together. How do I save that as a preset. Currently it seems that when I try and save it it only saves whichever amp is highlighted and I can’t save them together. Thanks again.
@@DoctorMcFarlandStudios thanks for the fast reply. Is there a way you would recommend doing that then? It seems in hardware assignment for scenes you can only choose one amp. To save. ? Thanks again.
Well considering I have a HX Effects and HX Stomp, Boss MS-3 and a few Guitar modeler plugins I think they all sound great. I was drawn to Headrush by the touch screen but I am just as comfortable dialing in tones on the Line 6 stuff. All the same concepts of building rigs applies to both analog and digital setups. I used a Headrush MX5 this morning at church and it slayed.
Most of my videos use the XLR or 1/4 out to my audio interface. If you are using a real amp you can go into the input of the amp but I suggest not using an amp and cab sim as the sound will be mushy. If you amp has a Fx Loop then plugin the output of the Headrush into the FX Return of the amp. Now the amp acts as your power amp and the headrush is your your preamp and fx. Good luck.
Quick question: why does the sound coming out from my frfr cutting out? I can't get my strings to ring out. I'm using HR pedalboard and 8" HR frfe. Thanks!
I wish it had control before the output to change from mono to stereo. Changing the output to mono means nice tonal options but then takes away all opportunities for stereo effects.
do you have a video showing how to arrange or move presets (rigs) into a specific folder (group)? So if I take a factory preset and modify it and want to save it to a group of presets i've made, how do I do that? Thank you
From my limited coding background- My guess is that in its original code structure, all presets would have a cab link. So, this likely would prevent a glitch in which the single cab would change or it’d automatically create a double cab. If the the single cab got told to be both a 4x12 and a 1x12…it’d likely crash the HR. It may show the preset if you already have two cabs set. Idk since I plug into my FX loop.
These videos help but they are still kinda cryptic like when you said " if you don't like the mesa sounds " you could have shown is how to setup another amp from that window at that time to help understand what it is that your are trying to do, not what don't won't, that doesn't help.

2x amps is the way to go! So many sonic possibilities

I haven't figured it out so thanks for showing us
I use this feature when recording all the time. I record in stereo with a clean amp left and crunchy amp right. It sounds huge and really tight!
Lots of different options for sure.
Another great Headrush video, thanks Nathan!
Thanks Mark.
that is such a cool looking guitar! Nice video Mr. Nathan!

Both should work the same. I don’t have the prime but I do have the Core.
Can you use the 2x feature for setting up scenes with completely different amps and cabs without taking up more blocks?
You would have to use block presets for this but it may be possible
Hey Doc. Love the Headrush video's. I have a gigboard. The question I have is most of the tutorials you post for pedalboard applicable to the gigboard? Thanks for the help.
Charly F yes pretty much everything except for a few output and global settings.
Thanks for the reply. I'll be watching more of the pedalboard videos to try and fine tune my sound and learn some more tricks
Can you switch between these 2 amps using this kind of format? like for example if I want to use a marshall and fender and just switch between them and not use them together? Great tutorial btw! Cheers
No that is not possible but you can switch between two amps in the same block via Scenes.

Would you buy a helix or a Headrush. Probably been asked a thousand times. Fractal and Kemper are at that higher level.

Go to the input settings and lower the gate threshold.

You just need to make a setlist and put the rigs you want into that.
@@DoctorMcFarlandStudios do you have a video on how to do that?
@@orke2617 I have over 100 videos on the Headrush. Of course I do. ua-cam.com/video/-D0l51CA7Jo/v-deo.html
If i want to use 2 amps do i have to minimize the width of both amps to get both amps going out thought the mono output?
If you are running Mono then you need to set the width to 0%.
@@DoctorMcFarlandStudios Thank you thats what i thought.Your channel is the best for Headrush owners.
Why do some rigs when you double click the amp you see a preset and a model amp. Other rigs don’t have it?
Im think all amps should show the preset and model but I haven't paid attention to stuff like that.

aunt jenifer you can use any amp you want. Or you can use two different amps. Just buy and you won’t be sorry.
