When installing that seatbelt bracket, you can first draw the shape of the bracket, then first drill the holes for rivets (can be also top right, bottom left - more like diagonal), bracket center line can be marked with some colorful pen. Then via predrilled rivet holes it is visible in what position bracket currently are, and is easy to control when rotating the bracket. You can hold it with something suitable via these rivet holes while tighten the middle bolt. Then drill these holes deeper - through the bracket, and install rivets..
Hi guys, we've got twins on the way and have sourced an early T5 Kombi, which unfortunately does not have ISOFIX points in the 2+1 rear seats. Do you have any advice on where to source replacement seats with ISOFIX? Many Thanks!
Gteat vid. Would it be possible to mount the seats a cross member further back and using seats with intergrated seat belts? Planning on a double swivel up front with a table/seating area.
Lee and gang nice video its given me answers to multiple questions i've around fitting those seats, whats the chance you do a one piece floor for a LWB
Hi Leigh , great job and well documented and explained as usual. Can you let me know if its possible to fit the double rear seat only by using 4 of the smaller reinforcement brackets Cheers from belfast
Yes, any modification needs to be told to your insurer, also you’re now changing the number of seats so definitely. Aplan as they were when I had my van were brilliant and it was just an email to them to add each mod on from bare panel van to full on camper.
Is there a way to make the two passenger Seat sliding forward and backward? On the web there are sliding and swivel bases for the front double seat, but I’m not sure is suitable for the double seat shown in this video. Any suggestion?
@@CombeValleyCampers Oh Nice to know, so the fixed second row of the caravelle can be turned in to sliding seats with your piece of equipment. would you please add the link of the base you sell on your web site?
im thinking of buying a panel van and doing this as may be the cheaper option than buying a kombi. i have a 2 month old abby so need safe isofix also. also how doss this effect insurance and log book etc? ive written this before watxhing all video so may cover
thank you for this video, it helps me a lot because I didn't think that this model could be made into a camper... you are amazing and professional in mechanics as well as in video making...🙏🙏🙏👍💯💖🫡
I did the exact opposite, had a brand new then, 70 reg lwb fiat Talento combi van ( Renault Traffic / pre Stallentis , Vauxhall Vivaro clone ), professionally fully converted to a campervan. Therefore i have the combi back seats, brackets, bulkhead etc all spare if somebody wants to buy them from me cheap , offers ?
What a brilliant video. I am not thinking of converting my T6.1 but I just couldn't stop watching this. Well done guys. Now to your other vids!
Excellent video you did my Kombi seat conversion a few years ago now great to see how you did it
Glad you enjoyed the video, and thank you for your custom :)
Yes Leigh. Loving the amount of content you are putting out 👍🏻
A fair bit of work, I had a local garage do mine but it could be a DIY job I guess. Thanks for sharing 😎👍🏻

Nice work and video! How about the registration for extra seats?
Excellent video
Great vid, have you done one to cover the 3rd row install?
Unfortunately not
Do you recommend the swb over the lwb as a daily work van ?

Can you have the seats the other way around - so the two is on passenger side?

I would suggest uding the brackets as VW intended. Leigh
Hi, what brackets would be required to just fit the double rear seat and not the single?
Hi what’s the cost of what you’ve just done labour only plus the flooring. Thanks
brilliant that. are they now what they call crash tested ?
They're factory standard so I would sa that they would be TUV approved.
Do you have to mention this as a modification to your insurer?

are you not supposed to batten the floor before the ply ?

I believe the newer t6 2nd row seats have isofix fittings. Make sure you're sitting down when browsing to find some though.
What about a Compact van Is it possible to fix seats on it ?
Yes we can accommodate small vans with same bed, just shorter in design

Great video, thanks. How long did it take you, roughly? trying to decide whether to take to a garage or do it myself.
Cheers!
Took 3 hours including filming
@@CombeValleyCampers Good to know! Thank you
Is it posible for headlight to be changed from round to square shape on t3
Yes, very easily. Have a look at campervanculture.com for available lights
@@CombeValleyCampers thanks for the replay 👍
What are this rims ?

Those seats aren’t from a Caravelle, they’re from a Shuttle. The Caravelle uses sliding rails. But still, top video man.
Actually sliding rails are used by the multivan. Shuttle and caravelle are the same, in the beginning of the t5 the caravelle was named shuttle.
