What I get from the song is the motorcycle guy lost his friend(like Aesop) and rides to cope with it. He rides reckless and keeps his bike in poor maintenance.
"Bright light, tunnel kings tuck in the devil" Refers to a on coming truck and "Eyes and teeth, new moon on a scale that defies belief" decribes the truck upclose. Hence he get it by the truck which circle back to the beginning "Baseheads locally approach all spark plugs total disregard for a dying man's shark jump" The basehead approach the wreck and ignores dying motorcyclist instead going after his spark plugs.
Bring that puppy back!
I am so down for any examination of the demotion of poor Pluto! Only Aesop would choose to explore this subject!
If I could pay you, I would sir. great videos
Great video! 56:20 To "focus" a skateboard is to attempt to purposely break it, usually out of frustration at not being able to land a trick.
I'll have you know this one was "blocked" in the US and as one of my favorite songs, I spent the last 20 minutes VPN shopping and trying random servers just to find which one would work lol.
This is one of my favorite driving songs. One of those ones where I just turn it up and get lost in the drive and lost in thought. Easily a top 5 hip hop beat of all time for me. It's so groovy, ethereal, eerie, and just bumps and makes me move my head the whole track.
"corners like a two-tired tiger so a too tired writer can accumulate a few excited fibers too assign" - He's talking about the driver in this story. He's generally a bit apathetic, and he's riding his bike a bit fast/erratic to feel a bit of excitement. The fibers being the fibers in his body.
One of my favorite parts of this track is the ending when he says "PS - I wrote this on a self destructing memo". Like everything he's holding in, the things he's keeping to himself, and everything he is struggling to come to terms with his friends passing. But he never spoke about it, he never got help to process it. He is the self destructing memo.
Still gonna put my vote for the next Aesop Rock track "Pigs".
Any luck?
@@alexlefkowitz yeah. I grabbed protonVPN and use the Netherlands VPN which works
I'm uploading the video now, I added visuals to help guide the breakdown!
Nice breakdown. While I agree with your point about the dancers, I actually think they are a visual reference to the term 'Asphalt Ballet', which is slang for crashing a motorcycle.
First line is kind of interesting, because the song is about a guy's addiction with riding his motorcycle to the point of obsession, vs the base head who completely disregards the spiritual meaning behind the bike and just sees a way to chase a chemical high
Hard shell ebony propeller hat is referencing the hard shelled helmets that bikers wear (not full face helmets). The propeller hat aspect is referencing the rider trying to recapture his youth, alluding to the mid-life-crisis aspect of owning his motorcycle
“Corners like a two-tired tiger so a too-tired rider can accumulate a few excited fibers to assign”
He bought the bike because it compensates for his age and brings him the reckless thrill of recaptured youth. (Too tired rider = over the hill) (few excited fibers = adrenaline rush)
It's a good day when you wake up to an hour long breakdown from B 👊
Thanks man, hope you like it!
@@BlackishUniversity video got removed?
@@alexlefkowitz Yes, banned in the United States due to Copyright. I'm going to quickly edit and dispute.
The symbolism I catch in this video is _them some fine a** dancers._
Not saying it's the only one, but I never seem to get past it 🥸
_PS: I wrote this_ before I even started watching your video.
The friend who died is Camu Tao, he was also an artist, pretty sure they have one or two joints together. It did affect him a lot, by what I gather from other songs (like _Get out the car_ ) he was in a deep depression for like 8 years after his passing. The album that this song is on is named Skelethon, and it's pretty much about death. Has some very nice bangers beside this one. Highly recommend all of it.
56:36 Wait a minute my ass 🤣🤣🤣 (or should I say the girl's ass)
That part right there gets me all the time XD
Lmao
@@BlackishUniversity Lmao = laughing my ass off
So it's all about asses in the end after all 😅 GoT reference.
As far as I've heard, this song is basically about a motorcycle dude that wants to go out and off himself. The pale horse painted gun metal black is just linking the concept of death and the color of the motorcycle. Also, the hard shelled ebony propeller hat is the helmet.
I'm writing these as I go along, sorry if I'm explaining stuff you already figured out later in the video :p
HR Giger did the Alien xenomorph designs. His stuff was bio-mechanical in nature, so it may mean rider and motorcycle being one (especially if he smashes into a wall)
