@@amber.ren_1995That too, but they also skipped ahead in the series because they realized there was no way they'd get 5 movies. So it will spoil the entire story.
I think it might help you guys to think of the seasons of Percy Jackson in relation to the movies of Harry Potter. Both book series were written to have the characters and audience grow together. You wanted a bigger battle in this series, a lot of adults did, but in the Sorcerer’s stone the final “battle” has Harry quickly burning Quirrel with his hands. Battle will become bigger, with higher stakes, as the Percy and his friends grow and the show matures.
A common thing that some people get confused about/don’t know is that percy jackson isn’t even YA it’s middle grade and found in the kids section at book stores lolol! so definitely intended for younger audiences and lighthearted at first. I like to think that the books kinda grew along with its audience. I did grow up reading the books so i’m definitely bias but I really enjoyed the progression the books took so i’m excited to see how it plays out on screen. while I do think season 1 had their problems with episode length and them somehow knowing what’s going on before they should’ve, I still loved it. (also yes there arent really many drawn out fights in the first book, everything in general does happen pretty fast it’s kinda just one thing after another. I do think that certain things should’ve been drawn out more with this new medium but hopefully they’ll fix that with longer episodes!)
@@angelatritini5677 Eventually they will. Because book 2 have so much action as well. But if they renew it for seasons 3-5 everything is just packed with action. Especially book 4-5.
they evolve like Harry Potter does. They get pretty dark by book 3 and get more mature for 4 and 5 as well. They start kids books and become YA by the end. Because they grow up as the target audience does
fun fact: the stunt coordinators said in an interview that walker had to really try hard to be bad at swordplay for the fights, cause percy is supposed to kind of suck and he had gotten way too good at swordplay. they said usually you would try to make an actor look better than they are, and this was a unique situation where they would get back notes to make him look worse and they would have to reply "this was already him being worse, he's going at 30%". they were super amused and proud about it.
blue pancakes: it's a little easter egg for book readers hahaha. Percy and Sally have an inside joke about blue food so every time she brings him candy or bakes it is blue:)
The stepdad said blue food does not exist so she went out of her way to make sure that she made blue food all the time on purpose and Percy’s favorite color
In the books Gabe's death is very intentional and not at all an accident. Sally takes the package inside and keeps it unwrapped in the fridge just so it will turn Gabe to stone as he goes to get a beer. As previously commented, Gabe is much more abusive in the books and it seems almost just for Sally to indirectly murder him, but in the show they toned that down and also made it seem like an accident. In the books Sally sells the statue to a rare arts collector for a lot of money, quits her job at a candy store and goes back to school in the hopes of becoming a writer!
I've known Luke was the traitor for over 10 years and it still hit me in the emotions watching it happen in live action 😭 truly a betrayal that severely impacted my childhood
I hated him a lot in he books. I did sympathize with him and how I agree he was too fucked up because of the gods but I still can't excuse all the shit he did lmao. However in the show, with how they framed and set up his arc for the rest of the series it makes me a bit sad to think about it
@@gabrielleariana6442 I know and that makes me feel good. I was uncomfortable with the feeling of really embracing or liking him back then because he was like a depraved horrible person and somehow you're thrown with a backstory in the end of the series that I was a bit forced into feeling sorry for him. And this doesn't mean I hated the writing for doing this, or the books. Maybe it's just that those feelings are kinda valid(to feel very conflicted) and I liked that I was able to feel complex emotions for a complex character like him. He's a great compelling villain at the end of it all. And yeah, I'm excited in how his arc would be written out as well along with Percy's and Annabeth! And I'm ready to actually really empathize with him and cry for real.
@gabrielleariana6442 If you dont mind.. how is it more nuanced? People continuously say this is supposed to be more "realistic" or "nuanced" but it feels like this is much more in your face, obvious, and predictable than the books ever were.
@@christhompson3301 for me personally it feels that way because it makes Luke seem more sympathetic from the jump while also showing that what he's doing is clearly wrong. I also feel that because of this we will get more of Percy feeling conflicted about Luke's decisions than if the show portrayed him as more of villain initially. But at the end of the day it's just my personal interpretation of how the show is going 😁
Diamond Dave is 100% right, these will definitely get darker as the seasons go along. As the kids grow up, the stakes get much much higher. In the books, Percy's internal humor makes the dangerous things the trio goes through much easier to discount, especially when reading, as your brain will comprehend and imagine what it can handle. With a TV show, you can't glaze over any info presented to you, and everything is right there in front of your face. Thus the stakes in the first book were much higher than in the first season, as to make this fit the target audience, ages 8-14, which is the same target audience as the books.
For whatever flaws the first season had, I thought they really stuck the landing with this finale. The entire sequence on Olympus was fantastic. Lance Reddick (RIP king) was phenomenal as Zeus, and I actually love how they changed some aspects of the book to frame Poseidon as a better father. Toby Stephens did an amazing job as well, and I was so impressed at how well Walker Scobell played off both actors considering they're long time veterans and he's still somewhat of a newbie. That kid is going places, as are the rest of the cast. Leah Sava Jeffries (Annabeth) just won an award for her performance and imo it was well-deserved
The thing with Annabeth finding them in the woods was... unfortunate to say the least. Its really hard to think of how they are still going to have Annabeth on his side now.
@@christhompson3301 I think since Luke is more symapthic in this one and the emaphsis on Annabeth knowing his past/relationship with Hermes, it would be easy to write Annabeth understanding where Luke's coming from and believing that he still has good in him across the seasons. They're probably going to build more on that in the second season and then by the third season (when Luke tricks her to hold the sky) that might be a breaking point for her. That's just my guess tho.
Yeah the point of Poseidon and Percy not getting time is that Luke, despite the ways he goes about it, is right. The gods are terrible parents. They rarely ever even claim their kids let alone take care of them. Luke isn’t a black and white villain. It’s also the reason he’s a dangerous character. He can easily recruit demigods and tempts Percy because they all feel abandoned. The show made the gods out to be a lot better than they are. We don’t even see Hermes at all in the first book.
I want to reiterate what someone else said: DO NOT WATCH THE SECOND MOVIE. It contains end of series spoilers. You'll want to finish the series in its entirety (all 5 seasons) and then torture yourself with the second movie. The first movie, while it goes off the rails, it is still a fun time, and doesn't spoil anything.
To be fair, ares is literally the god of war so it really wouldn't make sense for a 12 year old who's known about his superpowers for literally 2 weeks to stand much of a chance. A longer fight would have been cool, yeah, but it wouldn't make too much sense...
He may be th main god of war of th pantheon, but despite his great strength n fighting ability ares often fared poorly in battles w/ other supernatural enemies actually
This series was very good, very book accurate, but adapting Pj is very complicated, the books are in first person and the books are very fast paced, so I understand that the first season had some problems with that. But it was very good, I have been reading the books for at least 10 years, so if a super fan like me liked it and can understand the little changes made, I guess someone who doesn’t know it for long will as well.
About the necklace, everyone on camp has one, and you get one bead for every year you spend there, marked with some painting representing the biggest event that happened in that year
If I recall correctly, the series had some budget issues, which is why the action is usually cut short and episodes are shorter. Percy Jackson was definitely the biggest candidate for "Next Harry Potter series", which is why they got Columbus to direct the movie. The awful movies definitely killed a good chunk of the momentum the fandom had, which I hope this series can restore in 2 or 3 seasons.
The book is very fast paced as it's meant to keep the attention of kids with adhd which definitely causes some pacing issues in an adaptation. I loved every second of it though 🤩
I'm so glad you guys are enjoying this! I grew up reading those books and it's amazing to see more people discovering how cool the story is edit: Also you guys said something about how "we waited the entire season to see Percy with his dad, but they just talked for 2 minutes" and umm yeah? That's Luke's point about the gods and that's why his ideas are so dangerous, and why he thought he could recruit Percy, because the gods ARE like that, so a lot of demigods will feel neglected by their godly parents, just like Luke feels.
Of course a 12-year-old demigod's only hope in a fight with a god is to make it as fast as possible - I'm glad you acknowledged that. As for "Harry took on Voldemort" remember that he did so in book/movie 7. By the time this series reaches its conclusion, Percy is one powerful warrior. As for the length of the episodes, I heard an interview with the director, who said it took a WEEK just to film the fight scene with Percy and Luke (she also said the fireworks are coordinated with the action and dialogue, yet another little gem in a series full of them). And regarding the movies, they're both horrible. You'll get a laugh out of the first, but I'd recommend avoiding the second. It is a total mess but it does throw in several book/season 2 spoilers amongst the mishmash.
Lastlyyy Percy Jackson has an original five book series , and spin off series that has like seven books , and a newer spin off series that is the cast but OLDER that’s currently releasing thats a trilogy. Not to mention the numerous tie ins to other book series focused on other various mythology’s.There is just so much content. The world is so much more expansive, and thought out than Harry Potter, especially when you get down to the nitty gritty, not to mention much more Diverse when you get into it.
Gabe's death was satisfying as hell, because he was an abusive little piece of sh*t. The blue food was the rebellion from Sally, and the fandom LOVES it. And Luke's betrayal was so unexpected in the books, especially because he did try to kill Percy. That's how we found out and our boy almost died in the last pages. I don't mind the changes what Riordan made, but I hate that the show is not that violent as the books. Man, Percy is ruthless, even as a 12 years old.
I guess they don’t go over the necklaces very well. But demigods gain a Bid for every summer they return and survive. Annabeth and Luke had been there the longest. Other demigods eventually grow up and move on but lots of them die in battle and quests
most dies out, demigods that actually survive to adulthood and get to have any sort of life in the common world are really rare and far in between, most of the adult ones we meet or hear about either find a way to live in the God's world or were involved with pretty serious historical shit.
To answer Oak's answer, how they tie in world war 2 to the gods, basically it was answered in the that percy is a fobidden kid, that is the kids of zeus, posedion and hades are too strong, so when the gods fight, their kids also turn on one another... Like it isn't really shown in the show but according to the books some famous people were demigods for instance, it is said in books that william shakespeare is demigod son of Apollo etc...
I think people kind of exaggerate how much the books mature throughout the series. They deal with heavy themes, yes, but they maintain a tone that's accessible to young audiences throughout. Harry Potter changes a lot more drastically from book to book, in my opinion. I am hoping that the show will be able to do more as these young actors mature. Longer episodes, bigger fights, more and more emotional moments, please! I want everyone who watches the show to believe in how big a badass Percy is.
I mean depends what you consider darker or heavier theme. In my opinion this was already heavier than Harry Potter. Monsters constantly try to end them, we have "implied" decapitation scene, story talks about disabilities, parental issues, abuse, death, grief and betrayal. Then you have much more serious/mature themes with story of Medusa and Hephastus. In HP the worst we get first book is abuse, low level bullying, green coloured magical death and at least in movies a dude getting charcoaled to death. And theme wise it's really just a kid trying to crack a mystery, solve few puzzles and survive the bad guy. And when we look at later books HP tries to somehow catch up - possession and fighting giant snakes in CoS, convicts and soul-eating monsters in PoA, deadly trials and death in GoF, bad teachers, abuse and grief in OoP, war, death, torture and sacrifices in HBP and DH. But it's still pretty timid. Especially with how non-graphic most of the deaths are. And how there is usually just one main threat that is the most disturbing part of each story. In Percy Jackson - each fight we meet with cannibals, abusers and mass-murderers. By the end of book 5, we have so many graphic deaths that they probably will have to censor. Getting crushed inside a robot, getting melted by acid, all the amounts of sword and knife based injuries. Like the only difference, where HP is more mature in my opinion is how fast the kids get sexualised and pushed into romantic storylines and how raunchy it gets, where as characters in Percy Jackson don't really have time for that, which it's nice to see much more timid series, when it comes to using their actors in this way (we still get those storylines, but with older characters or straight up adults - like Percy's mum, Medusa, Hephastus and later on people like Selena or Calypso).
I do agree that Harry Potter changes a lot more drastically through book to book. But I mean it as a character - Harry Potter. Percy is just a silly guy. Somehow sarcastic - but until the Heroes of Olympus, never actually that serious or too heavily affected by everything. He always pushes through, but as he stays under 16 for most of the first series - he is mostly a child. Harry from abused kid, quite quickly turns into an entitled dude with hero complex. He is way more mean and wrong in his narrative. It affects the atmosphere more sometimes, compared to Percy being a ray of sunshine and sarcasm, even at worst mentally situations.
The WWII reference was briefly touched on in the books. I think different power players on both sides were demigods. There were also demigods in the ranks of each army escalating things. It wasn't so much that the gods were a direct cause (if I'm remembering right). It was that the kids were too powerful and were leveraging powers and favors from their parents to wreak destruction on the mortals against whatever side they were on.
WwII, in th books, is described to be a huge fight btw th kids of zeus n poseidon on 1 side n th kids of hades on the other. Th kids of hades were to be at th head of fascist italy, nazi germany n imperial japan, while th sons of zeus n poseidon instead had to be at th head of th usa, england n china. Th events of war resulted in th pact of th big 3, cause their kids were negatively affecting th course of history 2 much. Th fight also involved other pantheons 2
its good to keep in mind that the Gods do not talk to their children pretty much at all. It also keeps getting darker I would say way darker than harry potter. That bug battle youre talking about is the endgame.
PLEASE watch the documentary it’s really interesting at it gives a lot of background without spoiling anything from the next books. U would love it and it shows a lot about new technology in the movie industry. LOVE ur videos ❤😊
Hey guys, I'm enjoying your reactions! I would highly recommend to watch Black Sails series, it is very very very good!! Actor that plays Poseidon plays main character in that series. Would love to see you react to it! Greetings from Croatia!
i'm so pleased with how olympus looks. that's exactly what it should look like, not whatever the hell the movies had going on lmao. also rip lance reddick, truly a force to be reckoned with. the casting was absolutely incredible and i highly recommend watching him in fringe as well! getting to watch he and toby stephens go toe to toe is such a gift and i'm so glad we were honored with it before he left us too soon.
In the books Gabe was abusive and I don’t like they changed that. They also made him unemployed which cancelled one of my favorite book moments! Percy was on the Quest across the country and Gabe was all over tv talking about saving his wife from her delinquent son while promoting his business 🙄 then when Percy got on tv he said my stepdad is so grateful he’s giving all the people of Los Angeles a free appliance 😂😂😂😂😂 I loved the sass and pettiness!
10:15 The one who got stuck in the tree was Thalia, a daughter of Zeus and a friend of Annabeth's. Annabeth, Thalia and Luke came to camp about five years before the story starts, but Thalia sacrificed herself to make sure the others made it in time.
i understand the comparison to something like stand by me, but keep in mind that a movie like that is written FOR adult audiences primarily. percy jackson is middle grade, written for kids. at the end of the day it’s gonna abide by that age rating. the books do get darker as they go, i’d say most noticeably in book 3 where some teenage characters die. but overall the trauma the characters go thru is often dealt with through humor to keep it balanced.
I've been anxiously awaiting this reaction, sooo excited to watch this today!!! My wife is a huge fan of the books and I instantly got hooked with this first season! Can't wait for season 2 and beyond! HOLD FAST!!!
So Percy Jackson is a 5 book series and it extended to pretty much 17 books into the world. Book one is a good start but is not the best part of the series at all
I was waiting to see y’all’s reaction that it was Luke!! But overall that I’m really glad you guys gave this series a try!! I promise you it’ll just get better from here!! The first season feels like it honestly should. It seems light hearted and rush yes but if they are able to go all the way to a 5th season it’s definitely going to get crazy and darker from here. There’s so much more story to tell! Season 2 is going to be a lot crazier
Yes when he fights Aries it’s not a very long scene there’s not a lot of dialogue and they cut some of it out but the whole last maybe 5-10 minutes as they get older everything gets darker and there’s more at stake with each book
Not sure if anyone has let you know, but blue items are special to Sally and Percy. That's why the pancake she was making was blue and why in an earlier episode she gave him a bag of all blue candy. Blue is "their special thing"
I hope they learn from their mistakes for season 2. Overall it was a positive experience but they need to improve a lot of things. Also RIP Lance Reddick
I can’t wait for the next season and whenever they get to book 3. I turkey fell in love with the series by then and became obsessed with reading everything he wrote. He is great at building world and I highly recommend you guys to read the books.
Oak we can't really give details about how the involvement of the God's and their offspring in historical wars (AND other historical happenings) because those are spoilers not only from the 2nd season, but the whole series in a way. Suffice to say most demigods don't really survive to adulthood to lead common lives, the ones you hear about as adults either became known historical figures in the human world or found a way to navigate the God's world and the creatures living in it in some way, sometimes both things at the same time, though obviously, regular humans only hear about the regular world side of their exploits. If you remember they started explained the concept of mist, and how human minds interpret the weird things in the closest way to normalcy they can (the chimera being a chihuahua for example), so many influential figures actions would be viewed by humans by that same lens.
In the first book Percy and his father barely talk, and yeah their conversation is basically as short as it is in the movie, but his relationship with his dad kinda grows as the books go on, and there are more conversations to come.
Also wanted to note, Oak mentioned percy is small, ares is not. Demigods have increased/enhanced strength. They dont have human levels of strength, and trust me, percy USES that. Much bigger, scarier baddies incoming.
gonna be honest i like how they did the fight scene with Luke and Percy at the end because in the book Luke just kinda summons a deadly scorpion to sting Percy and then leaves and i never liked that, so seeing him trying to recruit him at the end felt like a great change from the book. overall as a livelong fan of the books the only gripe i have is how short the episodes are. hopefuly this takes off and becomes its own universe like the marvel universe because there is so much potential with there being over 20 books that Rick has written.
I think the thing with the PJO books is that its aimed at young children and grows with the audience so I expect the series will do so too. I'd say by season 3 onwards thats when it takes a darker turn and hits some hard themes. Personally I think the slow building tension over seasons is much better than having massive battles per season because then it just loses its meaning and the battle in book 5 is very epic (in my opinion) so the build up will be worth it. In the books Poseidon and Percy dont have too many conversations either so I'd say its pretty much accurate tbh and as a reader youre always left wanting more from them, lol. I'm excited for season 2 - I hope they do longer episodes too (although I guess because they're taking into account young kids and people with ADHD they dont want the episodes to be too long for them). Regarding WW2, its implied in the books that it started because the children of Poseidon&Zeus were against the children of Hades; and with the American Civil War for example, it was a war between the Greek and Roman demigods. This finale was so good imo, it set the foundation for many later plotlines. Loved your reactions as always! See you in S2.
I've mentioned this in a past episode, but I'll re-iterate it. The books were made to grow with the audience, similar to Harry Potter. And, in a similar manner, because these are kind of "coming of age stories," the books DO get darker and more mature. They WILL explore more aspects of humans and Demigods living in the same world, and sometimes it gets a little dicey. We'll meet more colorful characters that force our main group to change and develop and meet more powerful enemies our heroes will have to overcome. Honestly, I think the first book is my least favorite. I honestly think the books get better, so I'm hoping the series does as well.
Oh dont worry, we'll get more of Clarisse by season 2. She'll have her moment. Also, I might've mentioned it in your ep 6 reaction but Hermes plays a huge huge role in this series. You need to look out for him in season 2 as well
Definitely watch the first movie!!! It’ll be fun for you guys to see the differences and similarities! It’s one of my faves despite people not liking it as much (yes a read the books but I still love the movie)
That's in the 5th book, though, so she may yet say that in the show too. Annabeth doesn't see Luke try to kill Percy with the scorpion at the end of the 1st book. Percy has to tell her what happened in the infirmary.
I honestly would love to see your reaction of the Percy Jackson movie (only the first one for now) lol. It’s really different, but i still would love you to see Logan Lerman as Percy; he was really a good cast in my opinion only way older but still. Hope one day you can react to it! ONLY THE FIRST MOVIE PLEASE!! 🙌
if you watch the movies, DONT WATCH THE SECOND MOVIE!! it's got spoilers for season 5 / from book 5 which completely messed up the timeline but still terrible for non bookreaders to see. it'll ruin the fun !!
Absolutely loved this series as a person who read the entire Riordanverse and not just the Percy Jackson books (it's like 20 books I think). This season wasn't perfect but considering that s2 was already greenlit I think we're gonna get longer episodes as they know what to be expect. Especially the author Rick Riordan has never written a screenplay before so it was an entirely new experience. The cast absolutely crushed it, I couldn't be more happy with them. I still remember watching Adam Project and fan casting Walker as Percy. You can't imagine how happy I was when he was actually cast! Nobody deserves the role more than him. But Leah and Aryan also blew me away, they truly elevated the characters in ways I never would have expected. The actor for Zeus gave me goosebumps with his performance, I was most cautious about how anybody would pull of that insanely powerful presence but yeah. He was absolutely fabulous. Unfortunately he passed away so I send my condolences to his family and hope he's in a better place now. I'm curious about the recast though, imagine setting such a high bar in just one scene.
I think the reason the fight with Ares so short is because he would not be able to beat him all the way to the death. Percy specifically set the terms as whoever gets first blood because that’s something he could maybe do. As Percy grows up and becomes a strong warrior he has longer and more intense fights with worse enemies.
So in the book the fight between Percy and Luke happens in the woods like in the show (minus the portals) but Annabeth is not there. And bc she both considers Luke family and also has a bit of a crush on him, she struggles a lot with believing Percy when he says what happened and it is actually one of Annabeth's deeper internal conflicts in the books. I get why they changed it but I am kind of sad about it too.
Just dont do the second movie.... they literally take the ending of the last book and slap it in at the end of it... and its just terrible how they did it too.. almost nothing about it is even correct.
The necklaces the campers wear have beads that represent each year they have been at Camp Half-Blood. Each bead is painted to represent something that happened that year at camp and everyone will have the same design on theirs. Annabeth's and Luke's look the same because they both arrived at the same time. It is not shown in the tv show but Percy should be getting his necklace at the end of this summer - a black bead with a trident on it.
It actually is shown in the show. You can see his one black bead when he's talking to Chiron after fighting Luke, and when he's talking to Annabeth by Thalia's tree about Disney World.
It seems like, typically, people who have read the books hate the movies, and people who haven't like them (or, at least the first one). The movie focuses on being a film, before it's an adaptation. It has an older main character, and is trying to be more appealing to all ages. It also has some of the bigger and more dramatic scenes that you guys were hoping for. You might actually prefer it over the show! It will spoil future parts of the series for you, especially if you watch the second one, which contains a big reveal about Percy's destiny if I remember correctly. I think it's really up to you whether it's worth it. I really do recommend the books, I think they're endlessly charming, especially if you have a kid and want to introduce them to Greek mythology. Percy is one of my favorite literary heroes.
well walker grew to about 6 foot in the time between when they filmed the show and now so a rematch between percy and ares would be less awkward to watch🤣
DO NOT WATCH THE SECOND MOVIE!!! It will actually give spoilers for season 5.
THIS, THE PEOPLE TELLING U TO ARE TROLLING
You mean spoilers for Season 2 😑
@@amber.ren_1995That too, but they also skipped ahead in the series because they realized there was no way they'd get 5 movies. So it will spoil the entire story.
@@amber.ren_1995 well with how much they changed the story it doesn't really matter for season 2 but having the prophecy spoiled is too much

yeah 100%... they're definitely making this show to mature for the next 2-3 years and the season 5 to have the Battle of Manhattan to be the banger!

And about darkness, the first 2 books are pretty light, so don’t expect blood or anything like that, the third season starts getting darker
About the necklace, everyone on camp has one, and you get one bead for every year you spend there, marked with some painting representing the biggest event that happened in that year
I think it's the biggest event of that year more than your biggest moment. I believe everyone in camp gets the same pearl for each year :)
@@RB-km4om oh is it? My bad then 😅
@@GR4YS0NN I'm pretty sure :) And that's alright, I think there are more important things to know out there ;)
If I recall correctly, the series had some budget issues, which is why the action is usually cut short and episodes are shorter.
Also not sure if you guys are aware but the actor who plays Poseidon, Toby Stephens, is Dame Maggie Smith’s son, who plays Professor Mcgonagall !
Percy now got a TNT title match in his back pocket
but RIP Lance Reddick
I'm so glad you guys are enjoying this! I grew up reading those books and it's amazing to see more people discovering how cool the story is
edit: Also you guys said something about how "we waited the entire season to see Percy with his dad, but they just talked for 2 minutes" and umm yeah? That's Luke's point about the gods and that's why his ideas are so dangerous, and why he thought he could recruit Percy, because the gods ARE like that, so a lot of demigods will feel neglected by their godly parents, just like Luke feels.
Remember that the ancient laws prohibited the gods from seeing their children so they had to with other ways like Poseidon sending creatures
The 2nd movie will give you spoilers for the whole series not just season 2 so i wouldn’t recommend watching
Yes exactly!
I second this. As much as they butchered the plot in that film, it would still spoil majorly
THE SECOND MOVIE WILL SPOIL SEASON 2 DO NOT WATCH AHEAD OF TIME
RIP Lance
He left us too soon. For a final role to play, a God of all Gods is symbolic. It's what he deserved.
I am also glad they said “couldn’t care less,” nice catch!!
In the books too, percy and his dad have almost little to no dialogues, so ya it was pretty accurate
@@mjm3091 You are so right.
The show should definitely get darker as we go through the seasons, considering (no spoilers) the content that’s coming 🤫 (especially in book 5)
Yes but consider that the first 2 books are very light
@@pinguimalfaro5349yes exactly
The best episode! I've been waiting for this for too long ✨
This was actually very entertaining to be for kids. I definitely will be watching for season 2! Great reaction fellas!!
In the books Percy's mum does it intentionally and sells the "sculptures" of stepdad and friends as art.
its good to keep in mind that the Gods do not talk to their children pretty much at all.
This was actually very entertaining to be for kids. I definitely will be watching for season 2! Great reaction fellas!!
Fact: Posseidon actor Toby Stephens is Dame Maggie Smith's son!(Professor McConnagal in Harry Potter).
I've been anxiously awaiting this reaction, sooo excited to watch this today!!! My wife is a huge fan of the books and I instantly got hooked with this first season! Can't wait for season 2 and beyond! HOLD FAST!!!
Lance Riddick! Now I do have to watch this
This must of been his last job before he died
Finally! I was waiting for this episode to binge them all xD
Yesss just in time for the morning bus commute!
The second movie contains spoilers for the entire rest of the series. I’m begging you please don’t watch it
It’s Per🫵🏻cy🫵🏻Jackson🫵🏻YEAH!!! 🎤 🎉😂
PS: still think you know him? 🤘🏻
On this day ....
Fun fact! Toby Stephens, aka Poseidon, is Maggie Smith's son, our beloved Professor McGonagall 🌠
Day 1 of asking for a watch though of Naruto
Clarisse does get her redemption and her fair share of badass moments later, especially one in book 5.
Why are you spoiling it?
Finally you guys watched it.
This ep was my fav and I LOVE the scene between Zeus, Poseidon and Percy. The was acting was sook good 😭😭
PERCY JACKSON MOPS HARRY POTTER. I WILL DIE ON THAT HILL. ESPECIALLY THE BOOKS.
They threw us some nice bones. I am hoping for more meat next time. Yes, episodes were too short. The cast was perfect. RIP Lance Reddick.
I rewatch your HP reactions all the time...watching Oak go from not interested to a complete Potterhead is the best transformation ever 😂😂😂
In my opinion there is a major spoiler at the end of the second movie, I'd watch it after the second season finale. Love from Mexico.
The review chapter's off by a couple minutes again guys
Oh dont worry, we'll get more of Clarisse by season 2. She'll have her moment.
Also, I might've mentioned it in your ep 6 reaction but Hermes plays a huge huge role in this series. You need to look out for him in season 2 as well
⚠️DO NOT WATCH THE SECOND MOVIE, IT HAS HUGE SPOILERS⚠️
Definitely watch the first movie!!! It’ll be fun for you guys to see the differences and similarities! It’s one of my faves despite people not liking it as much (yes a read the books but I still love the movie)
Watch the first film, but definitely not the second one.
In the books, Annabeth says: “Family, Luke, you promised.” Which I find to be a little better than just I heard everything
DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES WATCH THE SECOND MOVIE! It has END OF SERIES SPOILERS! Like, massive, massive spoilers.
Greek mythology 👨🍳’s 😘
Don’t hold your breath on anything Percy and Poseidon
The whole point is that the gods are deadbeats . Him even coming to rescue Percy is impressive.
I CLICKED THIS SO FAST, I LOVE PERCY JACKSON SO MUCH ❤
I think the reason the fight with Ares so short is because he would not be able to beat him all the way to the death.
You guys should watch Lost in Space sometime, the guy who plays Poseidon is a major part in it and it's very good
The thing with the films is that they’re just bad adaptations of the books more than being truly terrible films I would say
Day 2 asking Bad medicine to watch Cyberpunk edge runners
React to Peaky blinder please ❤❤❤❤
I love Jason Mantzoukas. Especially in the TV show, The League.
The real battles come in later seasons😊
oh boy, can't wait to see your reaction to a certain betrayal
You guys should watch "The Virgin Suicides"
Fingers crossed the haters don't ruin everything and get s2 cancelled
Lance reddick also had a big role in the horizon zero dawn games
well walker grew to about 6 foot in the time between when they filmed the show and now so a rematch between percy and ares would be less awkward to watch🤣
