about 3-4 missed the point of the movie completely, asking solutions for the mysteries.
The movie was pretty clear about whether Ben killed Haemi (or not) and why would he kill her (or not). The director made that clear because it’s the main message of his movie (of all his movies actually) and he stands by it, which I find admirable.
As for the other mysteries, they didn’t need to be solved because they’re too complicated to figure out (like he said) and also because the point of the movie was to reflect deeply on them.
Why didn't they offer him a chair? The man is in his 60s. Answering questions standing for 25 minutes couldn't have been easy.
that's the way it is in most of Tiff interviews and I agree with you it's not necessary.
he's a tank dude, directors are used to being on their feet for hours at a time
Right? Now there are chairs in some of Tiffs q&a s still not all! I really don’t get it!
I wonder how it feels to be a genius film maker and be asked of these r/woosh type of questions.
I guess it will be forever a mystery.
Damn, I wonder how it feels like to be a legend. It's a mystery I guess.
Burning is when two masters collide; Haruki Murakami and Lee Chang Dong.
Some are actually legit questions about filmmaking, the craftsmanship and thought process behind the creation of this work of fiction, but others feel just like lazy attempts at getting around the mysteries proposed by the narrative.
The interpreter did a good job
excellent job
yea, she's really on point.
and she delivered the traslations fluently and quickly, remarkable job
I agree, unlike his interview from Rotterdam
이창동 감독님의 영화 모두가 너무 훌륭합니다. 좀 더 자주 이창동 감독님의 작품을 만날 수 있기를 바래봅니다.
The first half of the movie was light but the second is so gripping. I did not want to blink my eye once when I watch it.
23:27 girl on girl murder almost happened
He looks and sounds and acts very calm, exactly like Indigenous people in Canada.
Great film
Seriously? Just standing like that? That disrespect.
they are so beautiful :)
국제영화제 통역하시는 분들이 대체로 실력이 훌륭하신 것 같네요.
He is good looking with an attraction that can't be expressed in words.
I would like to hear the question as well.
이 분 말씀을 들으려면 인내심이 좀 필요한 것 같네요.
first
Boring, but not in a bad way, but in an interesting way (if that makes any sense).
It was an amazing movie man, one to stick with you for a long time.
What a moronic comment
I actually thought the interpreter was very sloppy, she kept tripping over her notes, all she had to do was read them back, yet there were so many pauses and uh and um um um. Compare this to Sharon Choi who is very clear and articulate and concise when she translates for director bong.
She did a very good job. People just have to complain about shit I guess.
As an interpreter I have to say you are def wrong when you say that's all she had to do. Interpreters don't take "notes" per se, we try to note down as much info as possible as fast as possible in a shorthand way (using only specific words we deem important, mostly abbreviations, points, numbers, etc.). You wouldn't be able to read through the notes of a professional interpreter, only we can understand them. It's not a dictation, she's rephrasing what they say using mainly her memory and a bit of the points she managed to write down.
What an incredibly boring movie.
says someone who believes in the keto diet.
luna li what’s wrong with keto diet?
One of the most engaging and enigmatic masterpieces ever made. Definitely not boring.
Too bad you missed the profoundness, artistry and the marvelous mystery that made us contemplate deeply even after the movie ended... But maybe you're not the type to enjoy such things... All good all good
Yeah? Well, that’s just like, your opinion, man.
