I was there in 1981 on the Oriana :) A Family on board dis embarked to catch a plane to the USA, as it was the cheapest way from Australia to America....I can still remember walking down the Main street while it rained and the rain was hot. Also took the cable car to the harbour crater rim.....amazing
I went to Pago Pago in 1979 on Oriana. Wonderful time. Remember going to a supermarket in the Main Street buying US candy with my parents. I seem to remember a fish cannery on the waters edge as you sailed up the harbour. Not sure if my memory is correct.

xr6lad - Your memory is correct. Glad you were able to experience the island. A wonderful place to visit or live.
P&O use to regularly call at Pago Pago on Island cruises from Sydney as well as trans Pacfic voyages to the west coast of America from Sydney.
