Why did you cut your motor mounts? If that is a standard pit bike frame, the qs138 v3 motor has two mounts that are direct bolt-on replacement for the horizontal engine.

Sick vid brotha!! Glad to see you back in action! And I’m coming to appreciate these cool qs powertrain kits. I’m thinking of making some room in my garage for a build with one.
Great vid, thanks. I've got a question if I may. I haven't seen you using any contactor in between baterry and controller or at any other point in the system as I thought it was need with this motor and controller as per an older info I had. Could you help me on that? I want to build one and though it to be essential. Thanks in advance.
Essential no, but if you wanna play it safe you could definitely put a contactor in line., you typically see in line contactors when working with brushed motors. A bushed controller can fail and put all the power to the motor uncontrollably, meanwhile a brushless DC motor cannot. When a brushless DC controller fails it typically turns itself off or throws a fault code. But for peace of mind you can still put a in-line contactor to shut down the system in an emergency .
this came out rad. amazing guys I just blew up the 155z yesterday on my bday ripping, I had in my Thumpstar and searched a few things a found your video. expensive kit seems perfect. awesome job dude, too bad they have such a waiting list!
A slider or roller that is pressing down on the top of chain all the time, can have be beneficial to what bicyclists call pedal kickback. Meaning bumps in the road will not effect the suspension as much.
I’m thinking ab making a e bike for city use and wheelies and want torque much more than speed so i was wondering how much this build cost including just the electrical components only, would a smaller one of there motors work for wheelies if I’m not interested in doing much over 25 mph?
Did they pick all this stuff or did you pick it your self and can you tell me what kit you got like the model of your motor controller and battery please I want to do this to my bike
originally I was going to put the 5kw golden motor in it. Also I think the 2 top mounts will directly bolt on but you still need to cut an weld everything else. A gas pit bike doesn’t have room for a Direct bolt on controller or battery
@@Krisuno nono I like it! I just don't know if it is allowed to touch the support sliders? (the plastic ones) Does it damage the chain/support sliders? I honestly dont know so it wasn't trying to be offensive or something like that :)
Well done bro , this is much faster than mine and neater , I’m gonna drop 3 teeth on front sprocket , that will be equivalent to a 74rear sprocket , with that ratio it should work out at 40mph top speed but will have a nice bit of acceleration for wheelies and off road woods and trials 💪, hope to see more videos on this soon bro , glad ur well too
This is sweet. Looks like a blast. I have the same motor and an EM150 controller, do you happen to the have controller settings that you're using here. It would be a huge help as I'm about to program my controller. Cheers

interesting and amajing presentation! I m also searching that motor u used but it is very costly, can u tell me why it is so costly? Do u recommend orher motor instead of that with sam rpm and torque?
Thank you! The only reason why I choose the V3 motor is for the gear reduction. I knew from the start of the build it was going to be a mini super Moto with tiny wheels and I wanted to keep the rear sprocket small as possible. That’s why I chose the v3 motor . If you are building a bigger bike the other QS motors will work perfect

Awesome content. Really want to build one like this myself. Just finished my diy surron battery so surron is about wrapped up so maybe I can start prepping to build something similar. Already race the surron in the maddog pitbike class so next I need to build an electric 12" bike. One question though, I thought I read on electro and company site the v3 motor bolts up to the standard pitbike(honda) engine mounts, cant remember if you had cut yours off or if you had to make new ones for the motor.
@@Krisuno Hmm ok, your thumpstar uses the honda/pitbike mounts originally. It clearly states on Electro's site that it should but hadnt seen anyone confirm it was true, hence why I asked. Not a big deal as long as the rear one fits but its strange he made that claim if it doesnt bc he really does good work and thats a big factor for people who arent fabricators.
@@mrskywalker115 it’s very close. It all depends on how you build them no matter what you’re going to have to do a lot of fabrication work to do these conversions because there’s no way to hold the battery and the controller in without some welding. The motor could technically fit using the stock mounts your sprocket might not be in its ideal position but there’s enough to hold the motor
@@Krisuno true, battery and controller are gonna need mounts but alignment of the motor/sprockets can be tedious where the others arent really as dynamic, as long as they are secure they should be fine.
