After receiving my Minilab 3, I really feel I have to give some feedback. The first thing every beginner (like myself) needs is clear guidance. The video's on your channel seem helpful, but that's if you're familiar with the product. Lots of comments I read are about struggling with the actual set-up. We need a clear path on how to use and what programs to use: which programs are actually included? Which are necessary and why? Which are optional and have a subscription added to them? What are the basic steps to start discovering the device? It seems, for you guys it's all obvious and clear. But I feel me (and lots of other enthousiast) are really struggling with the early stages of understanding the Minilab 3. Pleas: Approach these video's like we are newbies (which we are;) Thank you very much.
I ran into every problem you listed above. They NEED a manual alongside it that is clear and concise. The PDF manuals are good, but you can very much tell its extremely simplified and doesn't explain the stuff you'd like explained, they're also a hassle to navigate to. The amount of software stuff and all the info you NEED is quite overwhelming and I can see it turning people away from wanting to learn.
Omg i was about to get it , thanks you guys for let it know to another begginer. I am just gonna get a simple midi usb keyboard to start i think it will be better rather than spend money on something that i am not gonna have idea on how to use it
Missing frame at 3:46 : Lena activated the Arpeggiator function before recording [Shift + Pad#1]. You can see the tiny "stair-shaped" squares on the bottom-right of the LCD display: it means "Arp" mode is activated. Then at 4:03 Lena deactivated it before recording the "version two" of the lead.
i got the minilab 3 and i have to say, for someone brand new to music making its not user friendly at all. i have about 5 different software packages i had to install, creating multiple accounts for them and i still dont know what i am doing
Good to hear that I'm not the only one. I struggled for one week to get some sound with Analog Lab & Logic Pro. I did everything what the instructions said. There are a lot of things that seem to be taken for granted.
DAW's like Ableton Live are not simple applications, particularly when dealing with midi. You have to be committed to a fairly long learning curve. Just the nature of the beast.
Intro video starts out with Analog labs channels already in Ableton. how did they get there? Skipped an important step that I'm scrambling around trying to figure out. This video makes it all seem easy, but is skipping key info.
I am sure that if proper steps for using this instrument is provided ,it will be awesome , I found the set ups after a research by my own 😪,but now it feels worthy 🙂✌️
Arturia gives you so much free software and discounts on their other products and huge upgrade discounts while keeping all their products high quality. 5 star company ... they are my favorite
@@ialien2077 on their website they have some for their products and on youtube anyone buying analog synths most likely already knows what they are doing.
@Arturia do the mini lab controllers need any drivers installed? I am stuck in the past 😂 Protools MP9 and iMac iOS 10.6.8. I want to buy the 49 key version but I am hesitant because of compatibility with my old system. I would appreciate the answer or a link to find an answer. Thanks in advance
Does anyone know how to actually record what you’re playing on the Mini Lab into Ableton so that you can hear it? I can see it recording (took me weeks to figure this out too as these tutorials have been barely helpful) but when I play it back, no sound?!
She moves fingers so fast I just cant figure out how to record and loop. Is there any real step by step tutorial somewhere for complete beginners please? It seems all videos are done like everyone knows how to use these machines already.
In Ableton, open the Browser and click Plug-Ins so you can see what, if anything, is currently detected. Now open Settings / Preferences and select the Plug-Ins tab on the left. Turn on “Use VST3 Plug-In System Folders” and you should see immediate indication that it’s scanning, and with any luck a VST3 folder will appear in Browser. Close the settings and you’ll hopefully find Analog Lab there now under an Arturia folder.
A terrible how-to. Instead of actually doing what she says she is going to do, she just looks straight ahead, uninspired, jumping over every important step. "I'm gonna add a drum rack" - but that was already in there. You did't even let us hear the finished thing. Meaningless for all skill levels.
Anyone know if V Collection 9 works fully in Analog Lab 4? I can't get Analog V to work on my system either in standalone or within my DAW? Would really like to buy Collection 9 but, ya know... doubts... :(
Ni siquiera puedo hacer que suene una sola tecla, no sé por qué no se oye nada; tengo todo el volumen y nada, algo me estoy perdiendo en la conexión o configuración.
instead of a song with multiple instruments, perhaps you should explain how to record a simple track, with a single instrument. After this step, you can move on.
You need to connect a microphone through an audio interface, connected via USB directly to your computer. Minilab 3 is not an audio interface, and does not transmit audio signal; only MIDI signal.
Sorry, but I have to say this: these official tutorials are terrible for beginners!!! They make no sense for newbies at all…. I get that you probably put in a lot of effort, but you clearly didn’t think about it from a new user’s perspective, who installed countless apps and created numerous accounts but still has no idea what to do with it
These are horrible how to manuals that don't show anything. Ive been sitting here for hours messing with this and still haven't figured out how to make the transport controls work properly. This lady drag some samples in from nowhere and then just skips all the parts that are actually tedious to figure out. Literally every person on youtube is just doing exactly what I want to do with this like it's nothing yet it seems like it's impossible to actually do what they are doing.
Sorry but this doesnt help at all. I really wanted some basic beginner instructions to have a good with this Midi unit. Despite all the positive feedback on Amazon, im really disappointed in how hard this is to pick up as a begineer. I have all the software installed, but after hours of watching videos you have produced I still have no idea how to put it all together and even just record and loop what I want to play. Do better.
Sorry but useless material for a beginner. Also the software used (loopcloud) is not ok. It can be used free for 30 days but first you have to choose a subscription plan and provide your credit card number, address etc. what I consider an unfair practice.
This video does absolutely nothing to help decode the cryptic ridiculousness of this garbage. After 2 hours of browsing these videos, I've successfully learned nothing.
Why do all these videos called “getting started” always start with the software and gear fully set up. Ableton can’t just be turned on and hit record. Theres nothing there. How about a video showing someone new how to get the controller to be picked up by Ableton?

Lol it’s too much. I recommend using it as a controller and just producing in ableton fully. Like don’t even use anything they give you.

undo function in which step? i mean, why is such a function needed?

didnt understand why sometimes for record was use pad3 sometimes pad5?
When in DAW mode, each pad in Bank A triggers each track's clip/slot: Pad 1 to record on Track 1, Pad 2 to records on Track 2, etc.
That was HARD how she try with one hand manager the bottom 0:30, I couldn’t DO IT😂

Your "quick start" is not quick at all. You should think more about beginners. Even this "how to" is so quick, who are you making it for?
How can I connect the microphone to record it?
Te refieres a un micrófono externo para grabar en Ableton?
You need to connect a microphone through an audio interface, connected via USB directly to your computer. Minilab 3 is not an audio interface, and does not transmit audio signal; only MIDI signal.
