seeing stuff like this reminds me to be grateful everyday for simple things that I can do in life, all my respect for this man, I've been doing grappling for about 6 months and stuff like this inspires me a lot to avoid any excuses when it comes to improving myself and living a meaningful life
@Esut Mözil i mean yes and no... Because it's quite hard to do surprise attacks and anticipate what the person will do without seeing the direction of the hand and their positions when you don't see them. You'll know somewhat where they are but observing to anticipate and surprise is a big part of bjj ^^ but you can manage without if you are 3-4 moves ahead.

Your tap at the end made me choke up a bit. Because I've been there, not for my black belt, but I know that feeling. That tap signified finally hitting the "finish line" or a very meaningful check point in a hard fought 10+ year journey. That, "I fucking did it!", moment is unmistakable. I have answered this question multiple times already on this thread. But I can see some colour and blurry shapes that and classified as totally blind. I can get around the gym so well because I have trained there for years
I choked up at the end. Amazing and inspirational performance. I'm not blind, but without my glasses, I'm pretty close. I've found Jiu-jitsu (I'm just a white belt; previously Judo) is fantastic for those with vision issues. So much is based on close contact interaction that being able to see your opponent is less important than being able to feel what they're doing. I think the BJJ community, as a whole, would be well-served in trying to bring in those with vision impairments. I can't speak for the vision impaired community, but I have to imagine that many must assume Martial Arts are not available to them. This video, alone, demonstrates how incorrect that (assumed) notion is.
I don't like to compare my terrible eyesight with actual visual impairment but I find the same, I can just about box toe to toe but am badly disadvantaged in anything involving longer ranges and distances. So BJJ is great, everything is at arm's reach or shorter and I find no impediment at all (except for finding someone to roll with, no signals eye contact or nods across the mat work for me)
yeah 1:02 I'd be like what the hell are you doing to me?! XD the "oh crap" moment would come way too late. I'm not at all familiar with grappling or submissions like that, but it's inspiring to see someone know their craft. It drives your students and people who practice a different art to work hard and master ours as well.
I usually roll with my eyes closed. I don't know why but it just helps with the mind body connection and absorbing the physical feedback. Awesome stuff mate

Daaamn. Reminds me of that Jason Momoa show in which everyone's blind and they do a lot of grappling.
Amazing 🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌
Thank you
I choked up at the end.
I actually own a school now and I am working with Blind Low vision New Zealand to get more of us in to it ☺️
@@Blindgrapplr That's fantastic to hear! You continue to be an inspiration and I hope that catches on throughout the BJJ community!
I don't like to compare my terrible eyesight with actual visual impairment but I find the same, I can just about box toe to toe but am badly disadvantaged in anything involving longer ranges and distances. So BJJ is great, everything is at arm's reach or shorter and I find no impediment at all (except for finding someone to roll with, no signals eye contact or nods across the mat work for me)
This 15yo girl is massive. Frickin amazonian
😐
Increible. Excelente trabajo guerrero.
Damn this video, in a good way, for making me cry!
yeah 1:02 I'd be like what the hell are you doing to me?! XD the "oh crap" moment would come way too late.
I'm not at all familiar with grappling or submissions like that, but it's inspiring to see someone know their craft. It drives your students and people who practice a different art to work hard and master ours as well.
Really good technique
Thank you
I usually roll with my eyes closed. I don't know why but it just helps with the mind body connection and absorbing the physical feedback. Awesome stuff mate
My apologies for my last comment. It was not my intention to offend or make fun of anyone. I truly thought that she was the one who is blind, than thought both were. Boy was I wrong... Thank you for sharing this with us.
