Thank you for sharing this! I too use textured models in my concept art. Its nice to see other artists using this technique. This makes me feel less like a weirdo because I don't see too many concept art youtubers doing it.
Very interesting. So youre basicslly working aleady like a game environment artist creating a modular mesh kit, using trim sheets as a base for concepting. Never saw this approach to 3d condepting. In a current gen modern pipeline (UE 5) I think this would be a killer tandem technique between concept and 3d department!
I have question, i suck at drawing from scratch but im very efficient at 3d modeling and rendering, can i apply as a concept artist if i do this method ( i also can make humans)
hhmm i think you can be a concept artist with just 3d skills.. i just think its harder cause it takes more time. look at jerad marantz... his concepts are 3d... he does uses drawing in the early stages but his concepts are 3d.
Wow amazing!! I just managed to build my own process early this year (it start building it self to be accurate) Will see how to incorporate this to mine. I will need to learn a lot though. I wonder, what is the steps that drain your brain\creativity the most? I like to do the hardest part when my brain at its best XD
@@ArtofJoseVega I'm trying to figure out what role to focus on and applying for jobs. People have encouraged me to focus on environment art, but I don't know if I should do assets or concepts. Your technique is a bit in the middle, so it seems very interesting. Even sort of using trim sheets, which I know is the hallmark of a good 3D environment artist these days.
Sketch and Painting steps are a bit demotivating for those who can't draw. It just sounds like there's not way to do nice 3D stuff if you can't draw...

Does the tutorial also cover more in depth about creating the kit?

Well yeah. This is just to show what the steps are. Not to really show exactly how to do each individual sketch. :)
I'm trying to learn English. What is "a sort of" I heard a lot of them in your video. (10 per minute at least)
