  • A few days ago, I bought a buck circuit from China. It has an input voltage range from 24V to 80V. Output voltage 12V 10A. After disassemble it, it uses IC UC3845. Amazingly, it uses N-mosfet. Usually the buck circuit will use P-Mosfet. I then redraw this circuit to find out why it might work with N-Mosfet. Another interesting thing, it uses diode and boostrap capacitors. So it can drive highside. In the next video, I will design a large power PCB Buck, with CC and CV. Wait for me.

      It is used to convert the battery's 24V to 80V voltage into 12V. This 12V voltage is used for the headlights. FAN as well as whistle.

      Bootstrap drawn wrong. 5.1k to MOSFET drawn going to + Out. Should be connected to cathode side of 1n4148 to provide MOSFET with enough voltage to turn on.

      Output voltage is invented. The fly back voltage from the inductor will be negative.

    Ur captured schematic wrong c #5 of 3845,43,42 is negative voltage , you connect in positive!

      Because it uses mosfet N. So it needs highside driver for mosfet N. Could not connect it to GND.

    Bare in mind if the transistor shorts out full input voltage will be present on the output.It's better to use flyback topology because it's inherently safer if the fault occurs.

    Ground of 3845 circuit should be connected before the coil. I.e with junction of Drain/cathode of diode...

    Sir one more question to ask that on following your video you are applying 31volts instead of 24v. Is that it will work from 24v? & in the converter box it is printed 36v to 70v.

    Something is wrong with the scope waveforms. Some pulses are very small and some are big. you need to check if it is running smoothly or cutting out and oscillation. Try to trigger at the high point of the big pulses and then make the time base 1 mS and look at it. Does it look steady?

    Fatal eror sematic.
    There's another serious mistake. Faulty connection to circuit + vcc and gnd (1n4148 )diodes. This circuit won't work. After the trigger voltage, the circuit must operate with the voltage generated in the coil to ensure stable operation with high voltage. + Connect to the input and output of the Vcc and gnd coil terminals. I want you to redraw the circuit diagram by correcting the shunt resistor and the integrated supply terminals. Otherwise, a lot of people waste time.

    It won't work with an n-channel mosfet. You need a bootstrapped high side driver for it, or a gate drive transformer.

      Phsically there are 2 FETs on the PCB, But the Circuit Diagram shows only One FET.
      It means circuit diagram is not that of the pcb shown. WHY?

    Kindly guide me. On input 30v applied the output is giving 11.7v, instantly if 12v 21w lamp is connected the load drops to 6v. Next if input is changed to 36v the ouput also changes to 18v. Please tell me ouput voltage is not fixed at 12v, is it variable?

      You need to connect mosfet and diode in parallel. Use larger inductors.

    Floating the ground of the pwm controller is a a tricky idea, however should work, but may end up in an unstable-oscillating operation. I would be a bit more cautious using this schematic over 50V of input with the irf3205. The shown schematic contains a bug and will not run more than a couple of miliseconds!!!

      use 1.2mm copper wire. It can work well with 15A.

    Sir i have tested with bulb it is working from 24vdc. But if i connect amplifier drawing current 5A it is not working. Why?

    Dear bro, it produce 14v output. 30v input. I used 10w led only. When i connect led load output voltage reduce to 6v. As well output not good brightness too. Do u know what is wrong
