Great review Ken. I began wet shaving in 1976 and this beats all my other high end razors, Karve, Wolfman, Carbon, RS-10 and Rocnel- this is in a league of its own. People drop money on the things they are passionate about, cars, watches, whiskey - it’s not for everyone but for me it’s worth it. Don’t like it, ignore it and move on.

I got number 13 in the production run, ordered within minutes of being released. Arrived next day, first shave was memorable & extremely pleasant. It's in a league of its own, only the Rocnel Elite, Atelier Durdan Le Maurice & RS-18 can compete with it. Still evaluating whether it's the best yet but there will not be a lot in it. I really like the Proraso "Green" menthol, too. Love the cooling feeling on the face. Thinking of saving up for one of those stoneware scuttles that holds boiling water to keep one's lather nice & warm! Georgetown Potters has a nice one, hand-fashioned, too. When I saw the title of the video I thought maybe he’ll shave the stash off with it. Then was making my lunch for work and did not see your face right away and then totally forgot until you mentioned you had taken it off already. Great shave Ken. That’s a lot for a razor and would want it to also make my dinner for that kind of money but hats off to those who can afford it.

And I shave every 2 days with a variety of razors. The shave from this razor was so comfortable; and I did not have any cuts, no bleeding, no irritation-just a super smooth and comfortable shave. Mr. Ken if it wasn’t for you I would still be shaving with a Mach 5…3….10 or whatever it is and hating it. But you inspired me to take the chance on wet-shaving after watching your Muhle R41 shave and I have gone down the rabbit hole ever since-a good thing because I enjoy my morning ritual of shaving now. I own a tedalus velocity one, and I love it. The way it looks is one thing, but it shaves as good as it looks. Gives me a lot of pleasure on each use..

The value of this razor will only increase if people are willing to spend so much money on a razor that (let's be honest) does not bring any innovation to the market.

i got my razor about 6 years ago for about $30. it's heavy, well made, and comfortable to use. i nick myself maybe once every 6 months and i get a bbs shave every single time, usually in one pass. i spend less than $10 per year on blades and tobs shaving cream. can't imagine why anyone would want to spend more !
I got an email on the 12th that Shavemac are not going to be making custom brushes anymore as of 2/29. Which is a shame because they make some beautiful handles. So if anybody has been on the fence about ordering one, you better get your whatsis in gear. The clock is ticking!
Thanks for the info, just configured mine, they have been on my wishlist for a while, along with Thater, I managed to get a Thater before they closed for good. I wanted a bespoke Shavemac and the number of times I've been on the configuration tool only to be totally undecided about the handle colour and bottled it, so I just went for it, I have about 4/5 colours I get stuck on so I just picked one and went for it. Thanks, I would have been gutted if I'd missed out, their ready made are nice just not quite as nice as the custom and being able to get the grade, knot size, loft etc on your preferred handle, and the value is superb, this was less than half the cost of an equivalent Simpsons brush (mind you I do love my Simpson brushes too)
Wow that is one heck of a razor, although influenced by F1 engineering, I agree with you that quality of manufacture and finish is more in line with a Swiss watch than an F1 vehicle, mainly because F1 is built to be very light and often the finish is compromised to reduce weight. However that stand does look a little like a cut down piston. But $1000 is a lot for a watch
I would have liked to see a rubber cushion either on the handle or the stand that metal, on metal sound when you put it on the stand will become an issue over the years for me anyway apart from that excellent quality razor.

I would assume that people who spend about 1000 for a stainless steel razor will say that it's a great shaver because if they say anything bad about it they will feel ripped off.
The problem is that, there is nothing so nicer about this thing that isn't as nice with a DE89 or a R89 or a Rex ambassador and all of those finely machined razors hardly beat the $200 price tag@olf5212

Mühle better - I think. This one Tedalus only fancy design and box, nothing more. This box will collect dust and nothing more. It will not shave better than R89 or R41. But thanks for review it was interesting to see unboxing such an expensive razor.
Hi Ken, The razor is absolutely beautiful. But so expensive. So here it is…. This hobby is really about passion. Collecting watches is also about passion. It all depends on the degree of passion someone has if he is going to buy the Rolex or the Velocity. Best regards, Glenn

I’ve shaved with it as my cousin bought one and shared with me nothing that I can say it blew me off compared to Paradigm razors or Wolfman for instance..
