Typical argument from that woman, all emotion zero substance. If there was any intention to rescue the hostages they wouldnt have flattened all the buildings where they might likely be.
I remember some hostage situations in the past time, like airplanes, never had the special forces bombed the airplane to save the hostages, but maybe this is the new way to do so
Tbf pre 9/11, it was customary to try to negotiate with terrorists in control of a plane but now it is customary to shoot it down for obvious reasons. Sometimes hostages are nothing more than a shield to enable a terrorist to carry out attacks with impunity. And with Hamas, we've already seen evidence of one murdered hostage so I don't think it's a stretch to assume they are all dead no matter what Israel does short of a completely lopsided prisoner exchange which I doubt Hamas honestly believes Israel is going to be willing to do at this point since it would bolster Hamas forces.

Michelle says that Jews are far better at 'doing' things rather than speaking before being grateful we don't have Corbyn as PM - but the irony is, for all the things Corbyn ever said whilst in Labour, his parliamentary record when it comes to votes supporting Jewish communities is outstanding. Don't take my word for it, it's a matter of public record; in 2003, Corbyn was among the first MPs to sign EDM 123, explicitly condemning antisemitism, in 2009, he signed EDM 850, congratulating Jewish News on an investigation into antisemitism on Facebook, in 2013, just five months after his Facebook comment about the mural, Corbyn was one of only thirty-three MPs to sign EDM 1133, condemning antisemitism in sport and calling for the adoption of all necessary measures to combat it. These are but a few examples. So when she says she can only imagine what Corbyn's premiership would have looked like, all she need do is look at his voting record as an MP
Seriously, if I hear one more person trying to defend the Israeli siege, I think I am going to explode. Being Jewish does not make you more important or exempt from critism, except in your own minds. There is wrong and horror on both sides. Reason and critical thinking out the window. The whole thing is horrific, trying to cause Armageddon because it is written in a book. Fed up with all of it.
Israel says Gazan civilians are dying because Hamas is using them as human shields. They issue warnings, and anyone who doesn't leave is then at risk of death by airstrikes. Now, unless the basic concept of hostage-takers has changed in recent months, hostages can't heed those warnings. The hostage-takers, if using Gazan civilians as human shields, would have no qualms about using the hostages as human shields too. So Israel's defence about Gazan deaths is the exact reason why hostages will die. It isn't a hostage rescue. Any hostages that make it back to Israel do so through sheer luck that they didn't get hit by an airstrike. If, on the other hand, Israel was keenly aware of the exact locations of the hostages, they'd be doing a terrible job of rescuing them, because they appear to be too busy bombing the rest of Gaza to actually perform hostage rescue operations. Then again, Israel may assume that the hostages are all in the tunnels. You know, the ones they've started flooding. Everyone knows that terrorists sink and hostages float, so obviously this is a state-of-the-art hostage rescue tactic.
I love how unbiased he is, or at least always tries to be. The reality is that Isreal and need have eaponized the word "anti semetic" so that whenever they are criticized or if someone tries to see BOTH sides of this conflict they are quick to call it "anti semetic" sentiment. It's a disservice to the jews that experience ACTUAL anti semitism and, in the long run, dilutes the impact of that word
Thank you, James, for demonstrating compassion for both sides. Unfortunately, the true motive behind this call only became clear towards the end. It's crucial for our current world leaders to intervene and find a resolution, or else the cycle of violence will continue
Thank you for asking the right questions. Its complex and most people do not understand the history of this tragic situation that both sides find themselves facing. At the same time there is lots of dis/misinformation on Social media. Collective punishment that also puts the hostages at risk should not be conflated with the view that the actions will actually result in rescue of the hostages. According to me Israel is just retaliating to save face. In my opinion their actions in Gaza will merely result in the elimination of the hostages either by IDF actions or by actions of Hamas leadership. I believe that Hamas leadership are not idiots. They know the consequences of their heinous actions and are ready to pay the ultimate price together with the Israeli hostages and innocent Palestinians that have been hostages to Israel in Gaza for 16 years. All sides are trying to score points in a devastating situation for both sides.
@@RR-sp3ey So was I . Not because I disliked him or even most of his policies but because he was never going to be elected and the party was disintegrating under him. Compassion doesn't come into it. The Israeli Government would absolutely love to rescue hostages but they have gone " scorched Earth " on this now and I reckon they are prepared to sacrifice those hostages. They treat Palestinians like dogs then act shocked when the dog bites back. Israel - always the victim, never their fault. For the record what Hamas did was evil.
Hostage situations are usually successfully resolved by diplomacy or special forces or the involvement of 3rd parties. Can anyone recall a time when an urban mass hostage situation was successfully resolved by sending in the army?

It's almost as if people now believe that self declaration as a Jew entitles you to see Palestinian children as cannon fodder.
When the IRA warned people about imminent bombings, no one thanked them for it. This caller must get awful headaches from her cognitive dissonance.
She is faking her outrage. So many Israel supporters have said 'I am Jewish, I am in anguish' and then they just pivot to defending what the Israeli government is doing. These people often have no connection to the actual victims made my Hamas. And every question they start with 'But Hamas X but Hamas y'. These people are hijacking the suffering of others to defend their own politics. Which in this case are quite violent.

The problem with her argument about moving 1.1million to safety is that they were demanded to move into an active war zone. If they said “we’ll stop bombing the south so you have somewhere safe to go”, you could accept that but they increased the bombing of central and southern Gaza at the same time they encouraged people to go there, they even bombed the evacuation route.
Exactly. Humanitarian corridors are part of warfare. If we accept that the IDF are targeting Hamas and Hamas only, there would be a humanitarian corridor. But it’s everyone - children, the sick, pregnant women, the elderly.
