Hey, me too. Except I found a mercury dime. 1918-S. It was at a new building, a construction site. After it rained a couple times, I was looking at all the rocks that were dug up and exposed. And there was the dime, right on top of the surface. That’s a great find!
Braaaaaad Martin! You da man!!! Talk about great finds… each time you still and just breathe in awe, I tear up and cry a bit. I get as excited as can be for the joy you must be feeling….I so want you to have that feeling on every outing! As always, this show is essential to my mental health…lol. I no longer watch golf for nerve calming. Bwa ha ha ha. True though it is. My son walks by my room and has memorized all the people I watch on UA-cam religiously. He asked the other day if you quit filming because no how were in my Que. the next day, we are in business…now he want to go see Vermont, move there or higher up etc. Then he asks wow that Music is amazing, look up the band so we can get a cd. I told him it was you and your group. His response “ IS THERE ANYTHING THAT MAN CAN NOT DO?” can we meet Brad and see his collection’s?! It would be a year or more, I will write and ask when and if he I still ready to make the trek and hold his concentration. Anywho, happy April to you and the family…. Your biggest Kentucky Fan💕Tere
Great video as always Brad. With your videos I prefer the edited segues you do between finds. The photography/videography is interesting and eye pleasing to a nature photographer. Being an advanced amateur photographer myself, I really enjoy the shots you choose. The music away seems to complement the photography as well. It seems to me you must really love editing because you do a good job at it.
I think the owner of long time ago said, Let's drop stuff for GMMD to find with his electric contraption. Everyone agreed and started to drop everything for you. Nice Barber find! Great video!
Hellow Frand, Tom.and Brad.... Wow this was/is a great place to metal detect.. some of those finds are absolutely amazing. I love the history of it. Thank you for another wonderful window into your world, I so enjoy your videos. See you next week.
Great finds Brad. I just love old home sites. You just never know what you will find. A few weeks ago I was happy to be finding flat buttons and a very nice 1833 large cent gave me a thrill.
I am always intrigued when I find watch and clock parts. Pocket watches were much harder to make. Not because they were smaller but because they had to keep time no matter how they were oriented. Clocks on the other hand always had gravity affecting them on the same axis so they were easier to make. I have read broken clocks and watches were often taken apart to salvage any jewels in the movement but I do not know how true that may be. Great video.
I often wonder why the homesteads you search are abandoned. And why no one has re-populated the area. Such beautiful places, you would think people would want to live there.
Congrats Brad on all your finds. Awesome video. I never ceases to amaze me what all you detectorists find under ground. That is why I keep watching videos such as this one. Also congrats on the growth of your channel. 🤗
Brad i think your videos are the best at metal detecting and telling the history of the early homesteads. the indian head cents of 1908 and 1909 could have a S mint mark .
Liking the go pro shots more and more. Happy to see you're back on your feet and out in the woods. Not sure what the NY State rules are on metal detecting but there's an awesome old graphite mine outside of Ticonderoga with lots of old stone walls and remnants of old buildings. Little hike from Putnam Pond.
Brad down here near haverstraw NY the ground never froze and we dug thru the winter. I love the old large cents but rarely are they in good shape!!congrats on the matron!
The Barber Dime was a beautiful find but nearer the end, I had to laugh when I saw the wear patch on your "diggin" gloves.....it's seen a lot of coins to look like that, wink. Another great outing, thanks for taking us along.
I think holes in pockets explain why many coins were lost. I once found three quarters about ten feet apart, on the surface. I found the fourth one as it slid down my pant leg.
I search for agates and such and I have found that after a very hard frost hard things get pushed to the surface by the frost. Really like your humble personality and try to watch all the content you create. As a fellow content creator I know how much you have to edit to get such good entertainment... bravo
Yup another great episode I do gotta say Some pretty awesome finds & that there's a clock out there & it's off because it's missing a piece LOL Keep on Hunting God bless
Funny, that's the first time I've seen a 1909 Indian head found on youtube. It must be fun metal detecting on such old ground, you just never know what that next target may be. Congrats on the old coins, they are awesome.
Love the coins found, I always enjoy when you spray them and they reveal themselves, like the large cent! Thanks for the great videos Brad, really appreciate it!
Brad, it's a great time to be in the leaf matted grounds of the Green Mtns .. I'm certain that when you scrap the top layer of leaves away and actually "break ground" .. the "scent" of the earth beneath emits the scent of Spring and almost transmits itself through this monitor .. That earthy scent is very familiar to "ex-pat" Vermonter .. The Oil Lamp Burner top with the coiled spring was a functional part of the lamp, not just decorative .. Look at other lamp burners you have unearthed, and you will find that all, or most, will have four equidistant, slightly curved prongs to hold the lamp chimney to the burner .. On the example you found, and highlighted in this video, the spring is actually the Retainer for a glass chimney that would encompass the inside diameter of the chimney .. Or, as many of the "old school Vermonters" would call a "Chimley" .. Good video Brad, thanks for posting.
New to your channel, wondering how you pack the items you find to protect them until you can get them back homes. Really enjoy the looks into how people lived, loved, and thrived. Thank you for all you do.
Love seeing VT haven't been back since my mom passed away. And the relics tell stories. My great grandparents were loggers and trappers on the mountains. Maybe they lost some of the things that you have found.
Great finds today! Old relics of the past dropped or lost from 1 to 2 hundred yrs. ago! Coins from the same era! The silver is always a good find! I like how your filming these day, it's cool to see the dig again! Til next time take care stay safe and keep on digging...
Thankyou for sharing. I imagine that the clock stopped working & was not deemed worth repairing or repairable, or that cog was replaced & maybe the children took the remaining bits out into the garden to play with, or the pieces were strung up as bird scarers in a garden..???
Howdy-Do, Mr. Brad. Great coin finds, especially the dime. All my snow is melted away finally and I can get to my spring cleaning and finish up all the projects that got put on hold by Winter. Thanks for a cool beginning to my day here in Wyoming.
I've been collecting coins and have read everywhere not to clean them. You can use warm water and a few drops of Dawn dish detergent to clean them but that's about it. I know alcohol is a No-No. I love the coins you find! That barber dime looked really good :-)
I like the new 'live dig cam' you've added to the repertoire. Good stuff man. Thanks for taking us with you.
I once found a barber dime right on top of the ground with my eyes by a foundation

Wow such a unique find... lol
Cool!
It was an 1892p little gray but I spotted the roundness on the ground
Same for me, but it was a liberty cap large cent sitting on a stone wall
Another great Friday metal detecting with Brad!
You always find the most amazing stuff. That barber dime looks brand new. Well done.
Those Mercury dimes are worth a lot more when they are originally kept in such nice condition and so old. Nice find sir.

Agreed 👍
Your esthetic is perfect. Glad to see ya today, Brad.
Friday means Green Mountain day! Great hunt and congrats on the Barber!!!! All the best from PA
On the Comet lamp burner, the spring around the edge was usually used to hold the base of the chimney.

Brad another awesome video congratulations on your silver and coins
An awesome AND relaxing video to watch right before bed. Awesome finds. Maybe I'll dream of digging big coppers. Lol
