I have zero intentions of ever doing brakes on a sambar so have no clue why I’m watching but definitely neat to see the different style of front pads.
Kudos on the Japanese subtitles. Great way to come up in search results for JDM cars and support tuners overseas. Though I don't own a Sambar (yet) this was very helpful.
That hub buddy tool is pretty neat.
ありがとうございます。 日本語字幕ありがとうございます。 とても楽しい動画でした。
どういたしまして。 私はそれらが正確だったことを願っています。
Excellent work buddy , just got my KS4 supercharged Dump registered i’m currently making a UA-cam video for full removal and maintenance of the gauge cluster if your speedometer isn’t working also it will be my first time doing drum brakes in the rear by myself. I will be awaiting your rear drum video thanks so much.
The procedure you described for breaking in the new pads is the best way. Same way I do it.
Glad you talked about the beading in the Pads! Was taught the same way even though all my buddies said oh it’s not worth doing I think if you get that transfer film evenly on the road or it will break significantly better with hardly any noise!
What is the piston compression tool you used?
This is like the old school videos, no chatter, just captions and wrench turning.
Nicely done and very helpful. Camera's always well-positioned. Thanks very much!
That hub buddy looks pretty nifty the other thing I have cracks me up at the same bottle of brake caliper lube for the pins over the years I’ve learned not to use like redline grease you have to use the silicone-based paste stuff on the pins!
Unique Sambar caliper. I like the caliper hanger. Just did a complete rebuild of a pair of calipers. Set the scraper seal upside down. Off to fix. I'll bed the new pads/rotors. I've heard it is 100% correct if seating new pads to old rotors. But, hey, I broke a wrench pulling off the old caliper bracket. Impact guns need a permit like a firearm to operate correctly. Must master torque wrench prior.
Froze up slides are one reason why the pads get real thin.Seen this before.Sometimes get lucky and they come out cleaning them up.Sometimes brake caliper replacement is needed
Excellent video! What bolt did you use to separate the rotor from the hub?
congrats on 100k subscribers!
I need you to do a video on the steering rack replacement on a 2010+ 2.5 Outback. Seems like it's going to be a real pain.
Just picked up a Milwaukee Fuel drill, these things are NICE!
Sweet!
Lock pin is for the wedge? Have not seen one with a wedge like those have.
Great job with the video.
Surprisingly, this one (or any decent AWD k-pickup) is my true dream car.
Mostly because it involves owning a cabin and hunting :)
your DREAM car?? bruh, a dream car is something you could NEVER afford. this things are cheap.
@@CabezaDePistacho read the WHOLE text, not just one sentence
Were did you get the parts from?
What size are the screws for the rotors? My new ones have bigger ones (looks like m8) but the ones on there look like theyre m7... M6 is too small m8 is too big
What spray bottle do you use for your brake cleaner?
Sureshot. amzn.to/3p2TTMF
Nice job! Curious, any reason not to remove the caliper slide bushings for inspection/cleaning?
Always want to check them, clean them, grease them.
@@MrSubaru1387 I was curious if they just push out completly instead of cleaning/greasing half then repeating...
They push out. Little hard to get back in. There's an O-ring.
Where did you get the pads and rotor?
Gotta get me one of those hub buddys lol
HELP!!! Looking at a 2009 Outback with 95,600 miles on it. I like the car but I am scared shitless that I’ll have the head gasket and/or oil consumption issue. Any advice is appreciated
Hey, do you know if on a 96 Impreza power steering lines to the rack have a o-ring? Seems weird to just start leaking when it’s tight. Just started leaking this week.
I'm seeing more people setup these Trucks and Vans with larger wheels and increased use at highway speeds. Maybe I'm looking in the wrong corners of the internet, but I've yet to find anyone doing a BBK for these. Even something like a subaru 4 or 2 pot caliper would be an amazing upgrade if they are running a 15 or 16" wheel.
Are there any other calipers that would be considered a 'bolt-on' upgrade with the right 4-bolt rotor to match?
I run 14" wheels. Drive all highway. No issues with braking performance.
omfg!!! i havent changed my super thin brake pads on my subaru sambar just because i havent being able to find a 5 Point Octagon Socket... turns out, i dont FOOKING Need it to change them!!!! MR Subaru I freaking LOVES YOUU BROOOOOO! 😫😫😫😫😫😫
Yeah, the Pentadrive socket is to disassemble the caliper. Lol
@@MrSubaru1387 i been looking for that pentadrive socket for months.LoL! im forever thankful with you my brotha!! 🙂🙂
Pleas answer... part number 21210AA211

Hey, new to the channel but I have subscribed and continue to follow. I do have a question/request. I have a Subaru Sambar 1996. Just got it. And where do you go to FIND part numbers? I have written down part numbers you have shown. But unsure where I can go to find part numbers. Any help from anyone would be very much appreciated.

Waiting time is over 12 mouths :)
There is plenty of them in the Japanese mountains. They look very cool.
You forgot to paint the calipers Ferrari red
