    85 and bought e-bike 6 weeks ago.
    I have been riding about 10 miles a day but when I return home need to go uphill.
    The e-bike makes riding so much fun so now I can travel more miles.
    E-bike was a great choice.

      Hey good for you! Age is nothing but a number. For me personally from a young kid into adulthood I have always loved biking. Biking in general is an inspirational, healthy hobby. The adventure is what has always inspired me. The e-bike gives me the same feeling of excitement & adventure. My fav aunt whos in her late 60s loved riding too but could no longer ride with me due to her arthritis And that was her worst fear turning into a couch potato and becoming unhealthy. Until I got her an ebike.. and the ebike actually got her back into shape and helped overcome her arthritis and if anything probably slowed the progression down. It really helps her ride because of the power of the motors. It's almost as if she is more healthier now because of the ebike compared to when she was riding a regular bike.

    I'm over 65, got my first ebike a year ago. I've put over 700 miles on it already. I have a fat tire 4"x20" wheel 500 watt, 1,000 peak watt hub motor. I rarely drive my truck anymore, costs pennies for 60+ miles of riding. I do all my shopping on my bike using saddlebags.

    I’m 83 and bought my ebike 4 years ago. Now have 4500 miles on it. Bought the step thru as my arthritis was making it difficult to raise my leg so high when mounting. Ebiking is easy and fun. Its a class one (pedal assist only). Love is.

      The throttle is a big help when starting your ride with the relatively heavier ebikes , when crossing busy highways, going up a steep hill, or when you get a little hot in the Florida sun where I live. I do 90% of my riding on pedal assist level one, the least help by the electric motor. I had cervical surgery a few months before buying my ebike. I was concerned I might be able to ride because. I believe when starting the bike moving is a more likely time to fall and the throttle makes it safer. I like having the throttle even though I don’t necessarily need a throttle. Riding the ebike has greatly improved my balance, even when I’m not riding but when I walk also.

    I just turned 68 and bought my first e-bike. It’s built for off road and trails and I love it. I can get as much of a workout as I want. I can make the ride easy or hard and when I get tired I can use the motors to make it easier. Hadn’t been on a bike in probably close to 50 years but only took a few times to get used to it again.

    • @Powerstroke98
      @Powerstroke98 6 місяців тому

      That's the kind I have, but it works well on roads as well. I did upgrade my seat, as my bottom was getting sore on long rides, but e-bikes have a large 'FUN factor' so you need to get use to the features, know to lower your gears when coming to a stop, and lowering 'pedal assist' levels as well, if you plan on using them right away. Braking using both levers together, and making sure your foot/toes can reach the ground when you have to stop. My helmet has a red blinking light on the rear of it, so folks can see me at a distance, and I often wear my yellow jacket, again for visibility purposes. Ride safe, and you'll ride again in no time after enjoying that 'fun factor' mentioned.

    I'm in this age bracket and went looking to test ride an e scooter. Sure they're fun but limited to throttle only mode (I was a little concerned about the small wheel size too). I really wanted a machine that e-assists as little or as much as I want, providing a proper workout and not find myself struggling home. The shop offered me an e-bike (just entry level) for about the same money as a scooter, and I've been hooked ever since. The combination of a surprisingly well made cycle with an easy changing gearset, front suspension AND a motor assist ticks all my boxes. It happily takes me along trails when I want to. I'm discovering cycling all over again!

    I'm 65 and I wanted to get outside more. I bought a folding Brompton. It's a nice bike and I love how it folds up so that I can put it in the trunk of a small car (Mazda 3) and take it to where ever I want to ride. But I can only handle it for about 20 min due to a back injury. A friend bought a fat tire E-Bike and I tested it out ... it was great and rides so much smoother. I just got a WTVA Hebe 1.0. ... it's super fast. The Brompton is probably going up for sale!

    So good to see all these guys having their first e-bike ride, just goes to show how enjoyable these bikes are and there's no reason for anyone to be worried about learning to ride them.
    They are the future, and its hear now.
    I've just finished my first self built e-bike (1500watt, 48volt Voilamart kit, with a 52v 20ah battery) and I absolutely love it, its all put together with love & care, torque arms both sides of the rear axle etc...
    About 6 years ago I bought an e-bike, it was a 'Cyclamatic Powerplus' 250w, 24v and it did about 16 mph top speed, but back then boy was it fun, and everyone I let ride it.well, they all loved the bike too...
    E-bikes are there for people of all ages to enjoy, it was most enjoyable watching these senior citizens fall in love with e-biking!

    When I’m on my bike my leg is completely streched and I use my frontfeet on the pedal. We have about 10 levels to assits you in riding the bike. We never use the highest level. Our gear is infinitely variable. I started biking when I was 5 years old and my bike was my only form of transport til I was 35. We have 22900 miles of protected bikelanes in the Netherlands. We have 17 million people and about 22 million bikes and 3,4 million of these ar e-bikes. We use Stella e-bikes

    E bikes also weigh sometimes twice the weight of a normal bike. Mine weighs 65 pounds and my non e bike weighs 30 pounds. So if you are not using the peddle assist you are pushing sometimes twice the weight.

    • @sixthreezero
      @sixthreezero  Рік тому +2

      True, but you can also remove the battery to reduce the weight if you want to ride your ebike like a normal bike. Also, on flat ground, paved surfaces most riders will not notice any difference between an ebike and standard when riding without motor assistance.

      @@sixthreezero I started riding bikes at about age 4 with a Schwinn Sting Ray and about age 10 got BMX and stopped when I was 16 because I started driving a car at 16. Started interest in riding again at age 35 so got a Fuji MTB. Stopped again a couple years later then started again at age 47 and have been riding consistently from age 47 to now. Bought a Giant Talon only recently and built the ebike. So as far as ebiking only within weeks but all before that on and off have been non-ebikes. When I first rode ebikes at 53 years old it was renting Rad Power ebikes in Long Beach (CA).

    A couple of questions, I don't think anyone else here has asked yet... Is 28 mph the top limit of automatic "street legal"? or do these require any type of registration/licensing/insurance with the DMV?
    Also, in Idaho (and similar states) where the "Idaho Stop"-type laws have been enacted, do these qualify as bicycles for that purpose? or are they similar to mopeds/motorcycles, because they have partial motorized power?

    • @sixthreezero
      @sixthreezero  2 роки тому +5

      28 mph is legal top speed for Class III ebikes. You can reach 28 mph with pedal assist and if you have a throttle, the throttle can only assist up to 20 mbps. Class I, II, and III are treated about the same under the law as a regular bicycle so you don't need license, registration, or insurance. However, states are different, so we would need to look into Idaho specifically.

    Great video.....
    QUESTION: Do you make this bike with a handle throttle instead of a thumb throttle? Ones thumb can get tired of pushing the thumb throttle on long rides....
    What are the best ways to keep this bike from being stolen while parked at like a grocery store?
    How much cargo can it carry and what types of metal baskets can be attached to this bike for ultimate cargo capacity?
    What is the weight of the bike?
    Does this bike do any ghost pedaling at higher speeds?

    • @sixthreezero
      @sixthreezero  5 місяців тому

      We currently only make it with a thumb throttle. I would invest in a heavy duty chain lock to keep it safely locked up. Most baskets available will be able to be attached to this model. With the battery and everything this model weighs 68lbs. At the highest level of pedal assist and using gear seven, there will be minimal ghost pedaling but if you are trying to achieve speeds of 20mph or more there will be some.

    Sizing the feet should be done from the down stroke of the pedal, not the ground. Seems to many people ride cramped up. That can’t be good for the knees.

    • @sixthreezero
      @sixthreezero  Рік тому +1

      Any bike shop could service them. The warranty is 365 days. The battery questions depends on many factors, like how many often do you ride, how far do you ride, how often do you charge the battery etc. I would estimate it would last several years but again can vary. Yes, you can buy extra batteries.

    I'm probably one of the laziest person's ever to inhabit earth. I bought a 6.3.0 ebike in hopes I can break my lethargicism. After watching pedal assist operate I feel confident I will be able pedal more and ride farther. I also wanted an alternative to an electric treadmill. A stationary bike would have been nice, but I felt getting out and about would be better.

    How long does the battery last

    • @sixthreezero
      @sixthreezero  Рік тому

      It depends on many factors in including the weight of the rider, the terrain, topography, wind conditions and also which mode and level of assist you are using during the ride. As a general rule of thumb we say in pedal assist the battery can last 30 - 50 miles and using full throttle it can last 10 - 25 miles. Here is actually a video of us seeing how far we can go with only using the throttle, not pedaling at all. ua-cam.com/video/TuHVGIrfh94/v-deo.html

    • @sixthreezero
      @sixthreezero  Рік тому

      Hi Kellee, it depends on many factors like where are you going to be riding, how far do you want to ride, will you be riding up many hills? Also, overweight is a very broad term, especially since most Americans are overweight in some sense. If you are comfortable telling me more specific details I can help make a better suggestion, or you can email our company theteam@sixthreezero.com. In general our e-bikes are good for riders up to 350lbs, the motors and batteries will perform just fine under that weight limit. I hope that helps!
