these videos are great! I work in a public library's small tech services department and we don't have much time, staff, or money budgeted for mending, leading to a lot of books being discarded.
As the book repair person in a small public library, I'd suggest Norbond Liquid Plastic Adhesive (a fancy name for book glue) from Demco. I've used it for over 20 years.
@@lizlee6290 Thank you, Liz. I've got a few mid-1800's classics that are literally now in two pieces. Copies in Very Good condition are too costly for me to buy as replacements and I simply do not like new copies with no character.
I apologize for leaving that out and also for not seeing your comment until now. I will update the information above with that information. It is PVA or polyvinyl acetate. You can use white school glue, such as Elmer's. For a more archival version, search for neutral pH PVA.
I really appreciate this series!! I learned a ton that I wanted to know, as I'm just starting... have a neglected collection to tend to!

Thanks. Seems doable! Have a few old books that really need this.
This is the problem I have. Thank you for this video, I will try to do it.

Why go through this whole process and not tell us what adhesive you're using
