Thanks for that. We have a Pajero too and are deliberating on a MT1. Can you open the back door of the Pajero while the trailer is hooked up? also did you need to lift the rear wheel to attach the trailer? And how does everything fair up when it’s wet? Are you underweight with everything that’s in the trailer, including the tinny?
G’day. Great set up and well presented video, I love the rear draws in the car, the ones you buy have so much wasted space around the slides are to high and also weigh alot. My concern is what happens when it rains hard with all the water coming down the sides etc? Do you have any means of stopping it coming into the kitchen area or do you have to shut everything thing up till it passes? Regards, Mario 🇦🇺
Hi Mario, When it rains hard we definitely need to shut all the doors on the car to keep everything dry. With the trailer, the canopy side door actually sealed off most of the rain and with the awning above it as well, we never really had any rain come through the kitchen side. We did find that rain did come through the back of the trailer as the awning does not complete close of this section, so always ensured this was closed. But we really do like the draw system in the car, exactly for the reasons you mentioned (Cheaper, light weight, custom to fit your space).
Yeah works well, no problem with towing. Ours fits perfectly inside the two side rails so keeps it nice and tight. If you have a wider one, might be a bit more movement on the top. Has worked well from our end :)
Nice setup, I’ve been looking at getting the same trailer so I can set up a base camp and still drive around. Have you had any issues with trailer at all?
Thank you, no major issues with the trailer, only small things such as the pantry straps snapping and water tank leak, but all things you can repair and reinforce as you please. Off road towing was great and very capable of taking off the beaten track.
informative, nice to know what has worked and what hasn't. Great set up for the price👍
Thanks Russell! Definitely been a good learning curve on what we would do/take if we did it again :)
great little video. well done
You’re both out there and seeing the same things and going the same places as a trailer or van worth 80k plus .. great setup enjoy
great set up guys. safe travels 🤙
Thanks, it's done the trick so far 😊
Great Video Guys!! You guys rock!
