- I've been wanting to change the ugly clear grille since I bought the car. I found a slightly damaged one on ebay for £70, glued and fixed it, then painted the bottom trim black to give it the stealth look. I needed to make a couple of top clips as they were broken, but nothing hard.
Thanks for watching ! / @grooveon I really hope my content helped you, 'Super Thanks' is available by clicking the button under the video thanks so much ! ❤️
Alternatively, you can just buy me a ''thankyou'' coffee!: ko-fi.com/groo...
I prefer the clear grill.
the clear grill gets opaque + the "H" usually falls inside, worth to upgrade
Nah man they're on most civics the mesh let's people know its the s or the r
@@oppoh739 i have the s type and has the "glass" grill lol
@Solis190491 must be a pre face lift then. Get it upgraded improves the looks so much
@@oppoh739 i wish i could, but since i bought the car im a bit broke, and those are pretty expensive right now
Good job mate. I honestly like both looks though 👍
Thanks for voting
looks easy , thanks for the tutorial friend
Thanks for the kind words!
Looks much better!
Did you simply just paint it? No clear coat afterwards?
Hi, you are right, I did actually add clear coat, just didn't film. Thanks for the thumbs up and sub👍
Excellent job
I did that too, looks cooler
Good job. Thinking of the same upgrade to mine as it looks so much better than the perspex. How did you make the new clips? Expecting to have the same problem...
I fabricated the clips using banding strap, you can cut to size, it's galvanized and has holes
Hi, thanks for your video. Is your Civic a type R or is it only your new mesh face that comes from a type R? I'm asking as I'm wondering like Harambe in the comments if it is possible to remove the front without removing the bumper. On mine (2009 1.8 german model) the clear face is attached by clips on the lower side, and is not moving/sliding as in your video after undoing the upper nuts. Different moutings depending on specific models? or may be I didn't worked the face enough to loosen it on the lower side?
Hi There, I bought a type R grille and it fitted great!
Hello, I have the same problem as yours, have you been able to change it without removing the bumper?
I must say that new one looks so much better, the clear one looks cheap, but i was wondering do the clear one have places in the back to install bulbs?
The clear ones are just a lens design , no bulbs
Ive got similar wheels on mine with 25mm spacers but they have white spokes / center.
They look like 19's like mine , the ride is awful lol 😂😂😂
Im looking to change my grill soon so this will help 😊
nice one !
Clear grill is better i think, everyone chang to this and become common
Well done.Change fog lights too.
Cheers bro
Hi did you have any problems removing or installing the grill regarding the bumper? other videos have shown that you need to take the bumper off to unclip the bottom of the grill and to reattach the bottom too, but your video didnt mention that!
There are clips at the bottom of the grille, but you don't need to remove bumper
@@GrooveOn Thanks, Great videos keep it up mate. Cheers!
Type r grill will fit type s ?
Size wise will be fine, just seen an s type with one on road today
Did you take the bumper off to change the grill
No mate, no need, there is a clip at the bottom that slots into bumper
@@GrooveOn ok cheers 👍
Hello, I have the same problem as yours, have you been able to change it without removing the bumper?
Mesh all the way
Is it really just this simple? Just these two bolts?
Dont wanna fuck something up so Im askin
@@raceshot Yeo and a small clip at base
@@GrooveOn Aight thanks
Find a used bumbers and side skirts rear spoiler and you have the look mate
Good idea, thanks 👍
Looks tatty and a mess. Just dont suit a basic 5 door civic..
hmm, after 100's of positive comments, you are the first one to say it actually looks worse?, you must have different taste to the rest!
Always preferred the original look, tbh.
The plastic grille makes it look more generic.
But it's your car, you can do whatever you want.
