This is wrong. I have had a check engine light for some time. Went to a parts store to have a computer plugged into the car to read the codes. There were 2 codes, a low coolant level code, and a miss fire code. They cleared the codes, and I drove for about a minute before light came back on. Went back to the store to get it checked again. The miss fire code is the culprit, and engine codes can be misleading, so fixing 1 thing might not be the problem. For this particular code, I could have 4 problems; a faulty fuel injector, a clogged fuel filter, a bad fuel pump, or a bad fuel pressure regulator. It could also be bad spark plugs, bad spark plug wires, or a bad coil pack, all of which have been replaced prior to the code readings. This particular means of "clearing" a code only works for errors that only exist in the cars ECM. Meaning it is what I call a soft code. If light comes back, it means their is an actual fault, and something needs to be repaired or replaced. This is what I call a hard code. I know this because I am a retired boat mechanic with more than 20 years of experience. Yes, cars and boats are different machines. However, both use the same engines and the same ECMs, so the same process of troubleshooting is used. Thanks for reading.
Sir how about the indicator of engine come out and then few second maybe 2 meters running on my car then the indicator light gone..i hope u can answer my question
If you just switch on the ignition obviously the engine light and a bunch of other lights will come on until you turn the car on then they will dissappear 😅
This does not work on most modern cars. The error code is written to a non-volatile memory chip so if the power goes out or the batteries disconnected, the error code still exists. Even if you clear it and there is a valid problem with the car it’ll just come back on shortly afterwards.
I do that sometimes but only when I'm expecting the sounds and I know why they're sounding. Not advisable when you don't know the cause or possible danger
Yeah but doing that doesn't fix the problem. It's still going to come back afterwards. The right way to fix it is by checking the codes and fix the problem. People that want to scam people to buying a car do that exact same thing. NOT COOL
I took car too mechanic and he Said it had blown gasket .exhaust gasses in the coolant with a pressure test .I use my prado for my gardening buisness just around town now .10kkks later and 1.5 years it's still doesn't miss a beat .I only do coolant and oil once a year
for some reason removing the battery and reinstalling again removes your check engine light which might cause malfunctioning injectors, bad spark plugs, broken ignition coils etc, damn i dont believe mechanics anymore😅
It probably will go off then it will come right back on if you have a real problem to keep ur car from performing like it should that light will be back i promise
Or go to the mechanic's shop after doing this a couple times because your car is broken... because the dude with a funny accent said "problem is solved."
Start the car first not in run position in the ignition help people not spread fake informations this can lead accidents if they tried it. Removing the check engine light by disconnecting the battery is not permanent the problem will still be there.
I have a manual e39 523i 1999 model BMW. The engine light never comes on. Not even before starting the engine while the ignition is on the "on" posotion. It has 227000 km on the clock. What is the problem and how can I fix it? I bought the car 4 years ago as used and never had any trouble with it. I do not want to fiddle with it and undo something else. Advice will be appreciated.👴
Does anyone know about the 2006 Cadillac DTS? I took my front valve cover off, and I saw broken pieces in there! It was the little things under cam rod! Can I replace those, or would I have to buy the assembly?
The Marvel Thanos reference was crazy. 🤣🤣🤣 Also, try pulling the fuse for the ECM and then reinstall the fuse. Hopefully, the check engine light goes off. If not, you have a real problem to fix. Good luck.
Pulling the fuse does nothing to reset the ECU/ECM/PCM. I actually did that yesterday, 8-10-2024 for that very reason. Ended up removing the cable to reset the ECM.
Mine has been on for 6 months & have been to 7 machanics & I have told them P0500 keeps coming up..but they don't fix is they just wipe the code & I drive off then the engine light comes back on...I wanna keep my car but need a reliable honest machanic...I've worked it out that it is the transmission sensor cuz they said they have checked the wheel sensors...I cleaned the mafs myself..so I know its not that although the mixture( fuel & air) might be out..I'm nursing my car cuz I'm tired of being brushed off by machanics when they know dam well what is wrong with my car...now the abs is faulty.🙄
I know an even easier way, utilizing a simple piece of black electrical tape. Just place it on the lens, right over the check engine light. Light will still be on, but you won't see it. Problem solved 😊
They charge women more unfortunately. 6 months ago this light came up and garage charged me over a £1000 and it has come up again. I don’t know if I take it to the garage or not.
They will let you change the oil. Did you hear that! You change oil. The light comes on for a reason. You can take batteries out of smoke detectors in your home so you can get a good night’s sleep.
You have to let the engine running to see the check engine light on or off because when you off the engine but u turn the key on that why all the lights in the desk board was on including the check engine light on to, i think you are tricking the drivers huh. ???
I need to learn the meaning of the empty cluster sign that appears in the upper corner of the fuel pump on the digital information screen. I'm not talking about the sign indicating the refueling location.
This is a good example of why you should not believe everything on the internet..
Exactly

Thanks for reading.
Agreed and it Could be an overwhelming number of things going wrong
Thanks for your information
Sir how about the indicator of engine come out and then few second maybe 2 meters running on my car then the indicator light gone..i hope u can answer my question
It means there's a problem @moamarmadali1181
I approve this message!!!
Mine has been on for a while!!!
No worries, it will be back in a day or two once ecu goes through readiness check.
How stupid can a video be ,what is the point of this video?can somebody tell me???
Never ignore the check engine light. Use an OBD2 diagnostic tool to find the culprit. If you follow this video, you might end up with a costly repair.
Yeah and then it comes back about an hour later!
If you just switch on the ignition obviously the engine light and a bunch of other lights will come on until you turn the car on then they will dissappear 😅

The car wasn't running the first time do not take advice or take ur car to this guy 💯
Honestly when u start hearing strange sounds when driving just turn the radio up
I do that sometimes but only when I'm expecting the sounds and I know why they're sounding. Not advisable when you don't know the cause or possible danger
That’s always worked for me 😂😂
😂😂..
🤣 LMAO
@@JerrodSmith-o4n I've done that before laugh out loud 😂
Bruh, you reset it. It’s not fixed
The car wasn't on 😂 but it does reset the battery
But it goes back on if it needs to be fix so ? Give it a try
When your on the side of the road broken down freezing 🥶 you arse off. Make sure to thank him. Make sure to send him a picture of the bill
the engine light always comes on when accessory mode is on, it disappears when you actually start the engine
The problem has not been completely solved, my friend; you've just hidden it!
If it comes back, put a small piece of black tape over the light. Problem solved.
...now re-set all of your radio stations and the clock, then re-calibrate the compass and the outdoor thermometer.
The light will come back on after driving it a while until problem is fixed🎉.
I will follow you, but you are funny if something wrong with your car, the light will come back home❤❤
Yeah right! When the fire alarm goes off take the battery out and go back to bed. Why didn’t I think of that?
Got this issue recwntly and follow the instruction and the problen resolved! Thank you
This was a great testimony from a native NorthCarolinian. Fascinating 😊. Great guest. Great interview.
Yeah but doing that doesn't fix the problem. It's still going to come back afterwards.
The right way to fix it is by checking the codes and fix the problem.
People that want to scam people to buying a car do that exact same thing. NOT COOL
Will I always stay off or will it come back on after a while
To those confused.. he didn’t have his car fully on the first time that’s why all of the car shit was showing
How do you clean wiring????
Thank you for this✨🙋🏾♂️✨ .. Please, what about VSA, TPMS, (ABS) ✨🤷🏾♂️✨❓
I took car too mechanic and he Said it had blown gasket .exhaust gasses in the coolant with a pressure test .I use my prado for my gardening buisness just around town now .10kkks later and 1.5 years it's still doesn't miss a beat .I only do coolant and oil once a year
I will do update at end of this year
I would’ve hooked up an OBD 2 scanner and put it to the run position, don’t start it and let the scanner scan for codes
for some reason removing the battery and reinstalling again removes your check engine light which might cause malfunctioning injectors, bad spark plugs, broken ignition coils etc, damn i dont believe mechanics anymore😅
I know very little about cars and can still tell you once the ecu does its checks it would come back on.
You need to diagnose and understand what the problem is, otherwise the error will soon return
It probably will go off then it will come right back on if you have a real problem to keep ur car from performing like it should that light will be back i promise
Usually it could be the O2 sensors maybe
THANKS
The Check engine light is on for a Reason! Clearing it temporarily is not fixing the problem bruh 😒🙄
So leave it broken and let it do more damage, right?
Go ahead, drive three minutes and oops, check light back on. You must at a minimum check for codes.
Or go to the mechanic's shop after doing this a couple times because your car is broken... because the dude with a funny accent said "problem is solved."
Did that over a year ago on my Highlander and it hasn't come on again!
Start the car first not in run position in the ignition help people not spread fake informations this can lead accidents if they tried it. Removing the check engine light by disconnecting the battery is not permanent the problem will still be there.

What a total moron! Clearing the codes doesn't fix a problem. It only makes the light go out for a while!
all you are doing is clearing the code, it will come back when the fault re occurs
Good job bro 😊😊😊in 2024 🇺🇸
Thank you so much my brother I have the same problem with my car
All you did was fool the computer. The problem that set it off is still there and will probably come back on.
Well the CEL will always come on when you turn the key to the on position lol.
It’s only temporary…the engine light will come back on!
Just ignore your problem.
Lmfao normally it comes on for a reason eventually you are going to be as long side of the road waiting for a tow truck to come
Hi bro tell me for Verna fludic 2011 model diesel check engine light. Problems
It'll be right back on in 5 minutes 😂
Best solutions to car troubles. 👍
Does anyone know about the 2006 Cadillac DTS? I took my front valve cover off, and I saw broken pieces in there! It was the little things under cam rod! Can I replace those, or would I have to buy the assembly?
What about if the airbag light is on and the airbag is okay, how do you switch it off?
This is a temporary fix. It can come back on as soon as a few hours may be even sooner.
I try it and is working very well thank you alot
The check engine light may be out. But the problem still exists.
I just drive the car with the negative wire disconnected all the time. No check engine light, ever!! 😂
Yeah, but there's a reason the light came on in the first place, it doesn't fix the problem.Duhh🥴
That light will come back on sooner or latet 😮😮😮
After five minutes, it's back
If the problem was not fixed the code will come back.
Hello, I have tried these symbols techniques on my car but did not work ( engine light) still appear. Please advise, thanks
The engine compartment needs power pressure cleaning.
If this didn’t help, reinstall Windows from scratch….
The problem has been completely solved 😂
En la india lo haven asi hasta que terminan descalzos arreglandolo en el piso
All the warning lights were on in the beginning because he hadn't turned the ignition key. He is lying.
One mechanic said it’s the alternator and charged me 250$ ,pure highway robbers.
If that don't work & light is still on & there are no codes showing how do I turn it off
This is only a temporary fix and will come back, within a day usually.
What if that engine light is blinking? Do I still have to do the same?
It could be as simple as a loose gas cap.
If somethings broke the light will come right back on.
Yep take it for a test drive it comes back. On
And a couple of days later it came back on once again! 🦆 tape does wonders!
If engine light is still on it means there's something wrong with the car
Tq.is.working.sup❤❤
I know an even easier way, utilizing a simple piece of black electrical tape. Just place it on the lens, right over the check engine light. Light will still be on, but you won't see it. Problem solved 😊
😂😂😂😂
They are called BOLTS not screws!
My nissan dayz 2014 immobilizer issue showing car with lock,, not starting
Nice clean engine.
You have to let the engine running to see the check engine light on or off because when you off the engine but u turn the key on that why all the lights in the desk board was on including the check engine light on to, i think you are tricking the drivers huh. ???
Good job keep going...
❤❤❤hi what about the airbag light stucked on at all times
Light comes back on 5 miles later 😂😂😂
Never ignore the check engine lights,a small problem will for sure become a bigger problems. We are not cheap mechanics.
Only comes back on if there is an actual issue.
check engine gets back. He immediately moved the camera away hahaha
That is a filthy engine 😊
Bro wanted to wait for the light check to go off before starting the engine 😭
I need to learn the meaning of the empty cluster sign that appears in the upper corner of the fuel pump on the digital information screen. I'm not talking about the sign indicating the refueling location.
I don't think so!!! Drive it down the street and it will come back on. All you did was reset it.
Bogus. The computer will show not ready when scanned so it will still not pass inspection.
What if the light comes back?
It not check engine light, it indicate helicopter mode…
You drive long time helicopter mode, car will make parts of it go fly away…
