The story of how a practically unknown singer working as a cab driver had a fateful ride that led to her song being part of one of the most iconic movie moments of all time
@@Violet-uh9fj Her Obituary was only in the Rolling Stone Magazine, The New York Times, The Washington Post and about 100 other magazines. It also clearly states she has died on Wikipedia. Try reading something before commenting.
To me this song speaks of letting dreams go. That's a bitter irony considering she never got the career she dreamed of. But she did get to share her soul. I hope Diane and her family were very happy. RIP Diane.
thank you for this. the term ”iconic” is often overused, but it’s only fitting for q lazzarus and goodbye horses. giving her a platform for others to discover her work is another testament to the genius of demme. rip q lazzarus rip jonathan demme
There are so many genius songs sitting on vinyl, tapes, CDs, and especially hard drives that never will reach a wider audience, maybe because the creator didn't intend it to be spread or because it lacked whatever it took for it to become famous. Also, so many talents out there who never realized their potential.
She has a voice as beautiful and iconic as annie lennox imo!❤ It always baffles me how some people can be so popular and memorable while others fade into obscurity even when they have everything working in their favor. I guess part of it is having the right people backing you up and one having the tenacity to push through, and the other part being timing and luck. At least we'll always remember Q for her voice and the amazing songs she brought to life 😓
man I remember as a teenager , this song was the biggest myth ever, this song does NOT appear on the OST of silence of the lambs , and pre internet let me tell you this song was impossible to find or know anything about , it was a true mystery and myth
Dude thank you so much for this. I like so many know this artist from the cult classic yet know so little about her. Thanks for shining light on this deserving woman! Keep rocking Q!
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE tell the story behind the song? It’s about the Indian Bhagavad Gita. Goodbye Horses I’m flying over you is about reaching spiritual enlightenment. It makes the song even more beautiful. 🙏🏼♥️☮️🕊
Massive fan of this song and I hadn't heard the Jonathan Demme cab ride story.. fascinating. As you say it's sad that she never received the credit or reaped the benefit of her talent but she has left an indelible legacy that bands like 'Indelible Scars' and 'Tone of Arc' have honored with outstanding cover versions of her iconic track. Respect! 🙏💙
And damn, I didn't know that Diane Luckey had a few seconds in Philadelphia the movie. That was an Oscar winner back in the day and in all the theory videos about her over the years no-one else has mentioned that !
Great video You brought to the light more information in less than 10 minutes than many videos out there with longer playing time that are just looking for views and likes
The movie actually I feel killed the song, it's like everyone tied it with a trans serial killer. I personally find it very bohemian, and always took the song as a true work of art, very enchanting, mesmerizing and indeed a captivating beat....
Interesting piece. Diane Luckey had a full life, a husband and two children, who will miss her. She didn’t fail at anything.
Fake

I remember Buffalo Bill dancing to the song.🎶
I thought it was a man for the longest time. That's a true contralto, people. Not Miley Cyrus, but Q.

I still remember this song when I use to play skate 3 like 13 years ago I loved it and it’s been on replay for me ever since
Thank you for this ❤❤❤ As someone who struggles with mental health, i picture me, singing this to a therapist.

That would be the story OF the song. What he told is the story BEHIND the song.
I always thought that song was the PERFECT weird to go with that scene. Like nothing else woulda fit like that
