This series was supposed to go at least four seasons. If you’re a fan of it, I highly recommend the book it’s based on by Jeff Pearlman. So many insane stories but my favorite by far is the one in the epilogue. It’s about the 12th man on the bench and how the team absolutely tormented him the entire year. The veterans on the team were just relentless to the guy, he almost considered retiring as a rookie. But once the team won their championship of the 80s, they celebrated with him like he was family. He was invited to dinner at Magic’s house, went on vacation with everybody. The lesson? You’re not truly a Laker until you win a championship. That was the culture Pat Riley created. So good.
people often oversee him breaking his hand, his point during the speech is them being tight, which he gestures with his broken hand. Thats some conviction right there.
It's crazy to me they didn't at least bring back a season 3 to finish the 80s and resume the whole Celtic-Lakers rivalry. This was the best series going on on TV for a while and every episode knocked it out of the park. Maybe another can pick this up and start telling the Kobe years which were legendary and perfect for storytelling

We’ll need someone like Pat Riley when things don’t go well and we need to be built up.
this is the scene where riles became coach riley
This fired me tf up first time I watched it omg lmao
I may watch this series now.
people often oversee him breaking his hand, his point during the speech is them being tight, which he gestures with his broken hand.
Every now and then a show comes along that is great and for some reason it doesn't connect with the studios and they cancel it. This is a glaring example. The casting the acting the writing the basketball scenes are all amazing. Jerry west is my new fav laker based on the show lol
That’s how you coach sports!
Pat Riley
wow, amazing Brody !
what a great show about the victories of the boston celtics
This show should not have been cancelled. But love all that was shared
I litterally sent this this clip in my family chat a few months ago
Can't believe they canceled this show! It was the best show on TV in an era with nothing but complete shit, and this was a refreshing reminder of what a good show with good acting can be. Guess it was too much for the simpleton contingency that makes up the market nowadays
GREAT SHOW, IM 19
I love how even West is cowed by Coach's swagger. Even the best need a leader to speak louder to give them purpose and point out their negatives.
The casting for this was amazing
Adrian Brody and John C Reilly absolutely killed it in this series.
Amazing video!
This scene made me like Brody and Riley even more.
Most underrated method actor in the last 20 years
thx for sharing !
Brody's performance here is awesome but I think the director deserves praise too. The camera work in this scene is amazing.
Pat riley is a winner and he hates losing
