See the difference? Coupled with the rest of his, and this is charitable, racially insensitive comments, one can see how this may be concerning. And this is from a HUGE The Smiths fan
I eat meat. Went to raves. I like black music as well as The Smiths and Morrissey's solo work and much else besides. I'm an immigrant. I once had a Chinese girlfriend. I was against Brexit. However, i think the man makes some valid points. His delivery is willfully abrasive. Sadly, i do think its attention seeking. No different from what countless other pop stars do to remain in the public conscience.
Actually if he wanted attention he would have done interviews he rarely do interviews. I think Lary King is the most recently. I think a bit of him loves to provoke and stir up controversies just like Kanye.
I've been one of his biggest fans in the last ten years or so. I thought he was, simply, too honest in a world that usually doesn't value it. But, of course, always have said things in which the matter isn't if you agree or not, but if they're ethical. I felt so dissapointed with that controversial with Me Too issue that now, after all these years, as he'd say, I can't feel the same devotion I did in the past. I don't know him anymore and I'm completely fed up with these situations. By the way, I had the idea of having a tatoo done with the word "Moz" on my right wrist and well... Now I think I hated it if it was done yet, because of some of the things which appeared in this video. And I don't think it's exaggerated. I've read about, at least, several of these ones, and I know they're true. I know the condition of not selling meat around his concerts 'cause I've been there.

i don't really disagree with him on his observations of animal abuse and mass murder. We are way too tolerant of mass killings of animals for very poor quality meat for very poor quality restaurants while we blow up any tragedy on humans to get watch time on national news channels. Dont think that every murder gets publicized, only the ones that fit the narritive of that particular country and their sensibilities.
True. I think meat consumption now is ridiculous. The amount produced is awful for the environment and the animals themselves are often treated horribly when they're being used for cheap meat. Dont get me wrong, I eat meat, but as a world population we consume far too much meat.
My issue is more that we care too deeply about deaths of our own humans/group but not other human deaths. For example, if one American is killed and ten non-Americans are killed, the US cares more deeply for the single American, and may not even care at all for the entire group of the others if they are at fault at all This is noted most of all in all the wars, of course, most countries are like this. Although, the US had no issue killing its own people even as late as the 1970s. Look at WW2. The Americans had no issue killing every Japanese person in the world, and many Americans still wish they did/could.
P.S. note that I still don't think cows are more important than human life, that's just a fundamentally bad stance, and it's also hard to stand behind such a stance, as it would imply that you would be happy to kill humans for no reason (if cows matter more), going by the logical form. However, I also think what we (humans) do to animals is completely pointless and insane, and what with the removal of entire species, no less. Thankfully, 100 years hence will see no meat-eaters, more or less. The future is clearly 'green', all studies show this.
@@rubyr0f Well, that's because we have a large and greedy world population (such as the US and China). For the last 10,000 years, we have worked on a basic, 'the invention of farming equalled more food, which equals more people (health, larger societies, more children/people), which equals the innate need for more food (greater farming, etc.), which in turn equals more people' system. In truth, this system and its related norms, advancements, activities, and upshots have been completely insane for at least 150 years.

@Psyche Oh I think that depends. Yes, you are partly correct but many young people see it as no more than an Immigration ban and it really isn't just about that. I haven't heard a younger person (15 - 18) articulate about UK spending on the climate change budget, import taxes, the fiasco about fishing rights in the north sea, the EU budget (of which the UK does pay a significantly large contribution). I have heard a lot about "racist Britain using Brexit as an immigration control" which is all I hear from the age group.
@@TheBonesReaperShow given the deal has been made, what exactly has the UK gained? Most fishing rights still held by foreign vessels, the Irish border is in the sea, delays at the border for delivery trucks, the extra levels of regulations businesses large and small must follow, and one relevant to Morrissey - UK musicians having more hoops to jump through to tour in EU countries. The laws that were introduced during EU membership are still part of UK law, there’s been no significant change to those laws because there was absolutely nothing wrong with them. The only remaining issue is immigration, all those dead post industrial towns will be overjoyed to find there are still no well payed jobs in their area, I’m sure the culture of fish and chips and black tea with milk will be saved from destruction now. Every TV network, every NGO, almost every multinational corporation, almost all the trades unions (leadership not members), etc. Despite the fearmongering, the bullying, the threats. Despite the silencing of leave voices and the smearing of anyone who wanted out as xenophobic or racist. Imagine the numbers if we'd had a level playing field! Rivka G I have no problems with having pride in ones nation of birth I just think that people shouldn't just blindly worship every aspect of a culture without considering the harm that could be done. When Lion said "being proud of your culture and your country is always a good thing." That was the point of contention that because like you said "There are always exceptions." And he didn't acknowledge that fact.

I think a lot of people take his music and think he seriously is a depressed person when a lot of the time he's actually being witty and its sort of similar to his interviews where people will spin one comment much like his music to a complete negative without allowing him to go on and explain his reasoning . He can be a tad extreme in the way he expresses his opinions but people only find them shocking when a celebrity says them because celebrities are expected to be some higher being that must seek out the approval of everyone by being as P.C. as possible and if any of these interviewees were familiar with his work at all they would know he doesn't give a fuck. At the end of the day there are many artists that we highly revere as incredible talents that were complicated outside of their art and I think Morrissey to some is a prime example of that.
Of course, this has always been true and was true for more local celebrities as far back as the 1700s. Nothing shockingly about famous/powerful people being held to higher standards, in fact, it makes perfect sense. That fame, or power, innately comes with great influence and, in turn, responsibility. I would say this is one of the biggest problems with modern famous people. Of course, not that they should be mindless members of some 'group' rather than individuals. It's about balance, like with anything else.

i don't really disagree with him on his observations of animal abuse and mass murder.

I never completely understand why I like Morrissey's music so much. Now I totally understand. Thanks mojo. Keep up the terrible work.
I love how everyone runs to defend him until they learn he totally defended Weinstein and Spacey. Whoops!
Like everyone defending price Andrew or conveniently ignoring it
And ignoring he went to episteen island and jimmy saville being buddies with king charly boy.
It's true what fast food companies do is worse than any other atrocity,he just made that point and got it noticed by what he did say.
British culture should remain pure. How is that bad?
4:47 Obviously a joke.
