Man 40 years old! Insane Got mad into the Cure a few months ago, Smith's vocals, Gallop's bass and all the synnth work is just marvelous. I'm a massive metal head but damn the tracks off Pornography hit me harder than a lot of heavy heavy shit. So sad man, so emotional, and damn I always forget that they were a three piece at this time!
The back story to Pornography and how it almost resulted in the band ending, as much as i love the following albums (Head on the door, KMKMKM, Disintegration.) This wouldve been a hell of a ‘fuck off’ album. Insane tracklist
I get goose bumps every time I hear this song. Pure emotion pouring out of their souls right into mine. " Take another face, you will be kissed again." Kills me.
Scarred Your back was turned Curled like an embryo Take another face You will be kissed again I was cold as i mouthed the words And crawled across the mirror I wait Await the next breath Your name Like ice into my heart A shallow grave A movement to the ruined age Ice in my eyes And eyes like ice don't move Screaming at the moon Another past time Your name Like ice into my heart Everything as cold as life Can no one save you? Everything As cold as silence Like you never say a word Your name Like ice into my heart Your name Like ice into my heart
If you can make it through this album, yes vinyl existed, on headphones at maximum volume, and somehow survive these last two songs, hats off to you. This one, of all their albums, is hardcore. Only one that comes close is Robert playing with Siouxsie on the Nocturne album. Two thumbs up
I love this song. I had hair like kinda like Robert's and a shirt kinda like Simon's. It was the 80's. I thought I was cool. The song is fabulous!! Thank you for sharing.
Gosh I read this and thought, "hair in my eyes, and hair like ice don't move" 😱 Really tho, you were cool and that hair you like is coming back in style
So much from 3 people! It's fascinating to watch this and then find a live clip from years later when the band grew and the sound systems became considerably more advanced and this song just plays so different
Analogue synths the atmosphere behind pornography . Although on the album the cello and crispy drums also make it icy. That’s why later albums don’t have the real cure sound (1980-1982)
