The scene between Mrs Coulter and Lee in the prison was incredible. Lee was always my favourite character and they’ve got my favourite artist playing him!
I thought it was a fabulous idea to introduce Will so early. A television series isn't a book and it's incredibly hard to drop in a character into the second season, as essentially the main character, and expect viewers to buy it. So this was great to gain some early sympathy for his great character.
It was a fantastic idea .. it shows the parallel journey for will and Lyra. Mainly for people who haven't read the books, it's a great way to explain how both kids come together, the books cannot really show 2 things happening at the same time where as with a th show you can....I can't wait for it to be aired .....seriously ... if it's finished and ready don't make us wait til November lol

I loved this book growing up and the series really exceeded expectations. I was afraid at first that it's not going to be as good as the book considering that they strayed a little bit from the plot but those actually even made the series better. Gave me goosbumps since first episode.
Same! I always prefer book movies to be as accurate as possible, but for tv shows as long as they remain truthful to the main ideas and keep the characters well, in character, I prefer for there to be some differences so I can be surprised for new things.

i don’t think it’s important to keep that episode as it’s not pulling information from the book. that’s why they don’t seem too worried about not being able to finish it! a lot of non-book fans will be sad there is no lord asriel content this season, but at least it’s not essential to the story since we do get an idea of what he’s been up to come book 3!
here after watching the S3 finale and already missing these guys. It seemed like early COVID conditions didn't do to S2 as much as whatever other condition did to S3, but thanks for putting your hearts and souls into this one guys.

Agreed! Plus it allowed for more background on Will without having him telling it. Showing not telling is always best imo.
