oh please no. the mcu helps people to get big in hollywood, but it doesn't help them to get actual recognition for great acting. i've never heard anyone go "oh look, the [insert actor] of this marvel movie is so great!". the mcu destroys reputation. as a good actor, you're better off NOT joining the mcu.
I'm sure Dafne Keen will do great as Lyra; she seems like she's into the story and characters, and enjoying the part! I hope they don't pile too much pressure on her in terms of public appearances/interviews etc.
Me too, very well said. She is 14 and Hollywood has the tendency to ruin young actors who get into the spotlight from a younger age, or better yet, such an important age in someones life where they change a lot, puberty. I hope they'll let her be a kid too. I truely hope so!

For all that the film adaptation was a big ol' mess one of the few things they got right was the casting for Lee Scorsby (the character than Lin is playing). It'll be fine for folk who are new to the stories but nothing like the books' depiction.

Love Dafne and Ruth but James/Asriel and the dude playing Lee Scoresby are not quite right to my mind. I hope in reality they'll prove me wrong. Daniel Craig was great as Asriel, tall and imposing, I just don't get that from James MacAvoy. Lee Scoresby was meant to be wayyyy older in the books, like in his 50s? I always imagined him as old and with a white cowboy style moustache. Lin is too young for Lee Scoresby I think. And I never imagined Lee as very animated, this guy seems a bit too wacky and out there for Lee in my mind, who was always a bit more self contained in the book, except for fighting. What I'm most looking forward to is hearing the daemons talk. And the Subtle Knife/Will cos he's my favourite.
