Ive had nexplanon for about 4 years now, no symptoms or anything, mostly genetics because my family is known to not get sick or even have reactions to medicine/hormones. Biggest plus side is it took away my period, i love it! Im def getting a new one inserted once this one expires in 2024!
I thought it only lasted for 3 years
@@lizza4975 me too! I think there might be different versions that last different times
@@Andrea_owoi got mine in 2021 at planned parenthood and they told me 5 years
For anybody who’s curious about this birth control I had Nexplanon on for 4 years and it’s very effective. I got it when I was 16 got it taken out around 20, 21. I did bleed a lot in the beginning then it stopped eventually. I still had periods while on it just depends on the person. The removing of the implant wasn’t that bad I still have the tiny incision scar. ☺️❤️ Love your channel btw 🫶🏼🩷
I've had nexplanon for years (I've changed stick several times after 2,5years each time because I started bleeding again) and am a happy camper.
I don't think it's as widely known about as it should be. I only stumbled upon it after doing my own research, whilst doctors I went to only mentioned vaginal IUD's or pills.
Edit: it made me stop bleeding alltogether, and as a person with extreme cramps and pain, that was NICE! xD
the first nexplanon video was one of my favorite video of yours and im so happy when i saw this on my notifs!! your roleplays cure my tingle immunity.. Thank u so much leanna! ❤
This is birth control that I’ve always said I wanted so I’m glad you made this!
I absolutely love your videos! I'm pregnant with my second baby and these are so relaxing honestly
Nice video you make it less scary! Calming as always
Love your videos! Random thought for a video- creating a first aid kit for home or travel? Love to see you going through all the items and explaining uses for everything. ❤
Hey Leanna , I recently got nexplanon and before I got it I watched this video to calm my nerves. It really helped when it came down to the procedure and thanks to this video , I was able to get it was ease❤❤ keep doing what you do ❤❤
I have my appointment in a few days, how is yours going?
I've had it for a year now and it's been a journey for sure 😪 the first few months were perfect. My period stopped (I have always been a heavy bleeder) so that was nice, and suddenly like 5 months ago, my period came back even stronger and I'm so irregular now 😰 all and all though, I prefer this over getting pregnant 🤷🏻♀️
everyones favorite obgyn!
I love your videos for many reasons but they also make irl OBGYN appointments less scary!
The tape measure is my favorite!!!
I had Nexplanon for about two years. At first it was fine, and then I started spotting all the time. I'm currently on the combination pill to help treat endometriosis --- birth control makes me so anxious/sad, but it is helping with endo pain (I notice the difference when not on it). I wish there were more options!
Your too adorable, loving your videos ❤
I'm saving this to my watch later list because I'm getting my implant in a few months! Thanks for your videos
Edit: it's done! I got it about 3 weeks ago. I don't seem to be having any bad side effects so far, my period was longer than usual but also less painful so I'll take it :')
Edit 2: got it 3 months ago I've been bleeding/spotting for the last 60 days oops
I've had a Nexplanon for about six months now.
The insertion was very easy, and it barely scarred. Just a small dot. After about three months of mild side effects I stopped menstruating /almost/ completely. I still take a pregnancy test every two months, just to be absolutely certain.
Very nice and effective birth control. Would definitely recommend.
I’ve had the Nexplanon arm implants for 5 years now! I’m currently on my second one. I have Endometriosis and it helps prevent my endo from worsening. ❤️
did u renew it after the 5 year mark?
@@MelissaBlahh I renewed it after 3 years and have had my 2nd one for 2
Omg the way I love you ❤❤❤❤❤
Would love to see a colposcopy or LEEP video!!
This was very relaxing! Sadly I was one of those people who got a reaction from nexplanon. I have bled anywhere from 2 to 6 months while having it, have gotten severe cystic acne on my face and back and lost roughly 50/60 pounds while having it. I also constantly feel drained, sick etc.
I’ve had the nexplanon for a few months now, but I’m thinking about switching to pills. I’ve also been experiencing long bleeding periods and bad acne. Like I’m on my second period this month 😬
I’ve also been experiencing this, getting it changed out next week for the IUD because it’s just too much to deal with😢
I also had a bad reaction
@@meganfitzsimons9070 be careful with the IUD. Anytime my boyfriend and I had sex I could feel him hitting it and the strings would cut him. The first one I had was fine but the second was terrible. Crazy mood swings, acne, horrible cramps with no period. It also started to make my hair thin out a lot. Sex was torture. Weight gain too. First one was perfect until it fell out but the second one traumatized me. If you start to notice any adverse reactions get it removed before it makes you insane.
@@smbledsoe21oh my god that sounds like a nightmare😳 sorry you had to go through that. Do you mind me asking if it was Mirena?
Happy Eid Leana. ❤
Can you do a video about a preconception visit? ❤❤❤
Yay!! ❤
Lovely Video as always ❤
I got my Nexplanon put in at the end of January and so far I love it. No issues whatsoever except the insertion point left kind of a nasty scar bc I'm allergic to bandaid adhesive and gauze wrap just falls off :/
The lidocaine was my favorite part of my insertion lol
Woohooooo!!
Hi! 💜could you do a fibroids video? I recently had a pregnancy loss and they found fibroids at my appointment. I am still leaning what that means for me going forward and would love to hear you talk about them.
ive had my implant for 3 yrs and was removed last January. i prefer it other than other contraceptions :)
I went absolutely insane on Nexplanon, hysterically crying for no reason. Laughing while raging angry at my Husband. That poor man. I’m surprised he didn’t divorce me. I was a monster. Took it out. Pregnant 11 days later.
This was me on Yaz. Total lunatic lol. Minus the baby 😂
It made me so depressed during the 3 years I had it and I felt more like myself after having it removed.
💜💜
I love you nurse
I was 6 months pregnant on nexplanon and didn’t know until I started losing clots the sizes of soccer balls and dinner plates. I was soaking through bath towels, pants etc every time I stood up. I suddenly had an urge to push and after that it got a little better then worse again until I got it out.
Can you do a video about pelvofloor dysfunction?
Ohhhh i have that 😩
Could you do a video and the best birth control or other treatment for PmDD? I have been diagnosed 5 years ago and fuvd there is not much info out there on it.
I also have PMDD. it would be so nice to see medical professional talk about it!
I have PMDD and the only thing I’ve found that helps is Claritin D allergy medication. Research I’ve read says it’s a mast cell reaction so it’s sort of like our bodies having an allergic reaction to one of the hormones released during ovulation. Taking Claritin takes care of the mast cell reaction. No birth control has ever helped my symptoms - Yaz (made for PMDD) made me WAY worse.
Where did you get sally from
Do they take blood when your getting birth control? Like for the pills or any other birth Control?
Brooo im so early💃🕺
Can you do cranial nerve exam??? With face touching with gloves ❤❤❤
oh pleeease! 🙏🏾🙏🏾
My first implant was so superficial you could see it😂
Can you do one on the depo shot that’s the one I have I did a little research but I knew something everything 3 months was better since I’m gonna forget to take the pill and I can’t imagine something stuck in me especially when I have a fear of being stuck 😂😂😂😅
Depo makes girls sterile. Please be careful. And do not let them keep giving you the shots long term. It’s not a long term option.
Be careful, it does cause bone loss! I had it when I was a teenager and I’ve had a few fractures since.
Is there any risks associated with not getting a period ?
I’m not a medical professional by any means but I have been researching reproductive health recently because I got diagnosed with pcos. To my understanding if you’re not regularly menstruating AND you’re not on any sort of hormonal birth control there are some risks associated with it. But most hormonal birth controls work by preventing the endometrial lining from thickening so it’s not unusual to stop menstruating.
Girl we want that area stable and sterile
will you ever do videos back in a medical office again?
Honestly probably not--it was very hard and stressful for me to try and film those when patients were not in the clinic--and even if they weren't I was always worried about the audio catching anything that my coworkers were saying/ reporting regarding patients and their plans...mentally this has been better from me to film from home because I do not have to worry about any external factors violating patient rights to privacy.
I find it ironic that I started my monthly gift today and her answer was that the "patient" was on it
U r very Pretty 😅

Your volume is too low all the time.
Actually no it's not. Perfect for me.maybe Get better headphones
I’m not even wearing headphones, my volume is halfway, and it’s more than loud enough. You might need new headphones or a phone with a better speaker.
@Angelina Bud my headphones are fine thank you for your unless suggestion.
Sounds like you a problem, it works fine for me
I find it funny that people are really putting their personal medical history on here. She is just role-playing. Not everybody wants to read your business 🙄
