thiws birth control ruined my life. made my manic swings awful, periods so irregular, up to bleeding for three weeks to a month. My emotions were everywhere and I gained SO much weight. Its trial and error depending on the person. but it increased my appetite, anxiety, periods, and lowered my sex drive like crazy. i felt like i was going crazy for years. getting it out was the best thing I've done for myself, definitely going with the copper IUD next for sure
This is exactly why I'm getting mine removed. It decreased my libido, made me anxious, and I've gained so much weight due to an increased appetite.
I had my copper coil fitted today, painful as heck but I luckily had a great nurse and doctor. My implant removal is next week and I think the symptoms wear off after a month, but I'm so excited to have it out!
Best of luck with your IUD and I hope it goes well, ❤
Everything you’re explaining happened to me
I'm getting mines removed like it made me gain weight as well my cycles only last two days though and I swear it be feeling like something is crawling in my skin 😩 I really got it to prevent pregnancy again but I been losing feeling in the arm I have it in and been having really bad headaches and mood swings some people told me they got sick off of it can't wait to get mines out
I have the Nexplanon right now it's awesome. I haven't had a period in almost a year.
I’ve had my Nexplanon for a year and half now and haven’t had my period but would still get some symptoms. But I did just randomly start yesterday and it’s hell 😂
Can't wait for your vlogs !!!
😍😍😍
you had me untill the scalpel part 😝
I love nexplanon tbh I’ve had it for 6 years and just now getting it renewed. Only time I had any bleeding was wen stress level was extremely high. Was the best choice I made
I just had my iud removed today. And , the implant put in my arm. So far so good. Day 1 though.
I currently have the nexplanon but i am considering in removing it because i have not had a good effect on me. It has caused me to develop anemia with all the bleeding i have been having. I thought it was just in the first year that it took my body to get use to it, but it doesn’t seem to be working if it’s causing me to develop the anemia.
Ive got my replacement scheduled in a few weeks and holy hell why did i watch this
When they put it in they didnt numb is enough and it hurt like fucking hell
i get mine on friday 🙁
@@katb607 i know its a year ago, but you can always tell them that you need meow numbing!! The first time i was able to feel the scalpel and her placing the device, i told her it hurt. Luckily, she numbed me more
I LOVED my Nexplanon implant!! I wish that I could have had another one inserted this year after having the last one removed, but was advised by my Gynecologist that because I am now in my mid 30s, it most likely wasn't the best option for me anymore!!
May I know what's the reason for 30's age ..iam on 30's and would like to have 1 after my birth.
I'm 47 going in for one tomorrow. You're the 1st person to say they love it. I had the original norplant in my 20s and LOVED it.
@@SherJonesy yeah I'm starting to wonder if I need to change Gyno's because my gynecologist said my side pain that I've been having feel like 3 weeks is what is a cyst on the university's but yet when he went into my abdomen yesterday for surgery to remove my ovaries and my sister could even find them you can't even find my appendix. He had to call in a general surgeon who couldn't find it either so thinking this cyst thing they saw me on the ultrasound was actually my appendix haven't any of us realizing it!!
I’m having mine removed..had for 3 months and bleed for about 8 days straight, mood swings are like no other and don’t feel like me on it..not for me
I have had the implant on before it really I know it's called probably something different now nexiplined but I actually it had it for a year or two it actually did not work for me but I like the demonstration of you telling me what was going on
hello, i have a rather chubby arm and i just got mine in a couple days ago, i can’t really feel it, should i can my doctor?
Getting Nexplanon the first week of next month! It'll be my first birth control experience! The question I have yet to ask my doctor but would love to get your opinion/medical response. Can you get a tattoo in the area where the rod is?
I asked my doctor this, she said ultimately yes but it isn’t recommended.
Technically yes but I wouldn’t recommend it because with this birth control you get it implanted & removed every 3 years, so unless you want constant scarring on your tattoo, I wouldn’t recommend doing so
People say the insertion doesn’t hurt but mine did hurt so I’m guessing the numbing didn’t have time to kick in or something.
Is it normal to have the nexplanon to itch and burn a little a couple hours after getting it because my arm in that area itches so bad
l hv jallede 2 rods, doctor removed one, but still l hv another one inside, am scared, pls advise its expiry is 2026
What if your allergic to Lita Cain
I’ve been wanting to get the implant but many people that I’ve known or seen whenever they get bruising when they get it in because of delicate skin
I just got it today and my doctor wrapped my arm in an ace bandage to hopefully avoid too much bruising but I'll update tomorrow for actual results because she told me to wait 24 hours
I’ve been on Ortho-Cycln for 2 full months now. I’m 38. Tubal ligation 16 yrs ago. 2 children. No left ovary. Horrid bleeding & cramping every month. Let’s just say I hate a period & always have since I was 11 & got my 1st one. I literally felt like I had made a deal with the devil that day. That scene in Ghost Rider where young Johnny makes a deal with save his Daddy with the devil. That was me at 11. And every month since. I have light bleeding 3 weeks before my actual period. Everyday. Is that normal?
This is abnormal uterine bleeding if you have spotting or light bleeding between menses. The cause for which are mainly either problems in your cervix (it is important to do pap tests on schedule) or uterine polyps. Please consult your doctor.
Best😊
I lost my booklet
Should I leave it on for another year?
I got mine removed a few months ago and it took forever getting it removed bc of scar tissue. This had me with mood swings periods at random times, they would last weeks with heavy clumy bleeding or light bleeding that lasted a few days. Definitely messed with my sex drive. Kept me from gaining weight.
I’m scared
Off topic right but i got pregnant on the paraguard lol im now 5 months pregnant having my baby girl in october this will be my 6 th c section i knoe right i hope everything goes good for me a little nervous but not so much i can wait to meet my little bundle of joy 🥰 so my question is can i get a new iud placed in after i had my baby ?
I believe they can do it after you give birth at the hospital don’t quote me though but I know they can remove your tubes right after giving birth that same day
Mine was inserted into my fat and the nurse had a difficult time removing it. Would how deep it was inserted cause any issues or be less effective?
Deep insertion may injur blood vessels or nerves but wouldn’t much affect its action in preventing pregnancy. The timing in relation to menses is important. Nexplanon should be inserted within the 5 days of your (regular) periods. If nexplanon is inserted after 5 days then you should use backup contraceptive method (such as confoms) to protect yourself. Best😊
I just got the nexplanon today and after the numbing wore off my pain has been getting worse. I’m so uncomfortable and it’s Friday so I can’t call my office. I took Tylenol and that didn’t help. I’ve iced and that didn’t help much. It hurts
I know this was 6 months ago, but that is NOT NORMAL
@@DarlingsOrganshey! I ended up being fine was just sore I guess?
Do you have one? Cuz my main problem now is I can’t have intercourse without bleeding. Was not a problem for me before when I was on the pill. Idk what’s going on! The whole point is being protected from pregnancy but what’s the point if I don’t even want to do anything anymore lol??? Sorry if it’s tmi just didn’t know if u had any insight

Just got mine
Can there break
since I have the iud I guess I’ll just keep it 🤪
Hi Doctor, do you recommend taking if out after 3 years or does it work up to 5 years? I had mine inserted in 2020.
Same! I literally had it removed like 2 days ago
@@kaleyhanson2272 it did not hurt at all! It was just like the needle part that’s all
The doctor advised me that it actually works for up to 4 years so I had the choice to wait until next year to remove and replace or just do it today but since I was already at the appointment I chose to have it removed and replaced today at just over 3 years of having it in
I don’t think I have the nexplanon
Can the implant withstand the weight of your torso leaning directly on it?
Once it’s healed!
When does it start working?
It would need roughly a week after insertion to start working and to protect you from becoming pregnant. You would need backup contraception like condoms for 7 days from the day of insertion.
Best 😊
Is the real nexplanon like this sample version?
That’s the ultimate question.
I'm about to get mine out and it looks like it hurts hella bad😭
You won’t feel it. Don’t worry. It should be very quick not as quick as insertion but still quick just don’t look and try to think of something else while they do it
@@igames8571 thanks, The numbing stuff didn't really work but at lease i never have to do it again lol
@@SpookyscarySayge wth how is that possible 😭 did they do the injection of lidocaine? I didn’t feel it at all when they put it in. Hell nah I ain’t getting mine taken out now 😂😂
@@igames8571 the doctor said people with high anxiety metabolize numbing medicine hella fast so that's why it doesn't work on me. If you didn't feel the insertion you won't feel it when you get it out :)
@@SpookyscarySayge dang I have high anxiety and I didn’t feel the insertion but my anxiety is more social not general. Maybe if I just try not to freak out I’ll be fine lol
Are we allowed to keep the implant after removal
Why would you want to?
or arm implant
