    Please, please, please NEVER leave your bag on the seat of your car when you are shopping. I hope you covered it up. A smash and grab can happen anywhere, no matter how safe it seems

    You have such wonderful way of thinking! It is bad what happened to the bag, but this is life. Even if it was expensive things can happen, and you need to focus on the solution. Happy that Fendi is helpful in this situation. And your attitude is remarkable. Good luck with restoring the sequins, I hope it will turn out to be good as new.

    5:44 yes, that's exactly how sequins and beads are generally embroidered, it's just a long thread and unless they're they're individually scattered across see through fabric for a polkadot effect they will never be individually knotted because what's already an incredibly time consuming task would take 3 or 4 times as long and maybe 1/3 more thread and then you'd be looking at a 20 thousand Euro bag instead of a 6,000 AUD that already took like 20 hours just to embroider.
    Still it sucks that this has happened to you more than once or that you need to wait another 2 months for an easy repair that could be done in 2 minutes at the store unless they actually get extra and feel the need to rip all the seams in the flap to re-attach a few sequins...

    I have always had great luck with Fendi customer service. I am not a huge spender with them…have about 5 items stretching over 10 years. I think they are one of them best for customer service.

    I’m so glad that you had a positive experience talking to Fendi about this ❤ it makes such a difference. And also sounds like a much more relaxing option to deal directly with the boutique instead of worrying about returns, international postage etc. can’t wait to see what you’ve found for the wedding!

    That`s the healthiest approach to this topic in my opinion. As you said, life is not perfect, things like this can happen but should not affect your peace of mind in a major way. Especially if on the other side Fendi is really helpful and offers you good solutions. But I also think if you as a consumer know that you don`t have the nerves to handle delicate bags then it`s the best decision not to purchase. As always, just important to know yourself and what you can handle. Thanks for sharing all the aspects of this case, Dayle! Wishing that the bag arrives as brand new back to you 💗

    Sooo I had told you a few weeks ago that I had bought the acid green baguette for myself for Christmas…starting using it finally the day after Christmas and lo and behold a few days later, I noticed a whole ROW of the sequins had come off without me noticing. I was fairly careful with the bag so I’m not sure what happened. However, part of what sold me on the bag was the Fendi store manager assured me if anything ever happened with the bags, they could send it in for repair. I have an appt with my Fendi SA to send it in for repair and she was super apologetic. I was sad to hear you had issues with yours as well and seems like it’s not uncommon…I, like you, love the bag enough to not get stressed about it but in it goes for repair.     Once you get it back after repair, I hope you’ll put the bag to “work” like how you use your purple one! At least if anymore sequins pop out (godforbid! 😂), you can make another decision for the bag super fast . It’s a beauty , so hopefully no issues anymore! 🎉
    Am still pinching myself for not getting the green 😢but the H 🍊 has a hold on me at the moment 😂, so living vicariously through your collection this year 😅

    Dayle, so sorry that this happened to your beautiful pink baguette. Foo, to the neigh sayers for not being able to use---these are beautiful things that are there to enjoy! I think that Fendi has always been customer service oriented. Everytime, I have a question or request they have been straight forward and courteous. I currently have a Chanel bag off to Chanel for repair---it will be like a bit of Christmas when I get it back. I think that companies, not just Fendi, are getting product out so fast due to customer demand that sometimes quality is suffering. I would want the bag and send it off. Love the review of the LV Trunk bag. I have a special order out for a LV Speedy world tour---have the Samorga liner already in prep! LOL. Can't wait to do a 1 minute unboxing!

    Repair or refund are both good options. They couldn’t be more fair. At least it didn’t fall apart at the event you were planning to wear the bag! I’m colour, function, quality, style/brand

    I think Fendi has the best customer service ever. I got a classic Baguette recently (my first Baguette) and a few weeks later I saw that there were some imperfections that I didn't like and I went back to the shop and they exchanged it and gave me a brand new one (it is a classic white one). Without any problem. I did the same thing with my Peekaboo last time 😂am such a perfectionist with that. So I really think they want their customers to be happy and they are really the nicest Luxury Brand Staff I know (in contrast to chanel for example, where I always feel kind of "unwanted".

    I bought online the sequinned mini baguette in pale pink in Mid November and wore it lightly on three occasions in December to dinner parties. At the first party a friend found a square sequin on the floor and we retrieved it. Subsequently four more square sequins fell off and I have collected several of them but I can’t spot where they fell off the bag. I love the bag but dislike the inconvenience of losing sequins.There is no Fendi boutique in my city though several boutiques in my country. So I am going to phone a boutique and try and talk with a SA to determine my options. I have four other Fendi bags that I love 💕 and so I love the brand.

    I don’t quite understand how Fendi would not have come to a process where each piece is sewn separately. Yes, it is a more delicate material, but this should not have happened. You are very generous and understanding in your response and actions, but this situation should have never occurred. I truly hope they repair it to your satisfaction!

      I imagine it would be too labour intensive. It seems everyone is trying to reduce production costs where they can. But also, maybe it's the best way to assemble the sequins?

      Yes, people who sew and embroider here in the comments have mentioned it's standard practice on my bag and to do it differently would take significantly more time and thread and money. So I guess it's finding a sweet spot.

    I think it’s a good plan to have it repaired. I think that it will be checked really carefully at the repair.
    For me, I would be very hesitant to buy such a delicate bag. But you knew what you were buying. It will still be a pull one thread and the whole line can go situation.

    Nothing covered in sequins could be sturdy. The only thing holding them on is a couple pieces of thread. It’s also never a tight thread if the sequins are designed to move around. Sequins are generally for special occasions for that very reason. This wouldn’t be an everyday whenever kind of bag. This is a party,night out,holiday and new years kind of bag. Everyday usage would cause more and more to fall off. I’ve always had a thought of them using fishing line for things like this or some sort of other heavy duty thread like material.

    So disappointing, but thank goodness this happened so early into you owning this beauty. If it happened after a year, they would probably charge you for the repair. (And it's a great opportunity for Fendi to assess the bag before sending it back to you.)

    I'm waiting for your video to premiere. So sorry this happened. I know how long you waited for that beauty to arrive.
    I ordered the 25th anniversary beaded baugette with the double circles. I was disappointed with the quality when I received it and sent her back. I have vintage beaded bags that are better than the new one. I then tried the beaded phone bag. It was really well done, but my Samsung S21 would not fit. I ended sending her back but I kind of regret it.
    Really considering the LV Side Trunk now that my Fendi/Tiffany Nano got canceled.

    I missed your video, I watched a lot of your videos. I received my sequin wand last week and I have the exact same problem. (as I make video in the unboxing we see that the sequin is broken from the start). I'm like you, shared because I love this beautiful bag that completes my collection well.
    I'm waiting for what customer service will offer me... 😢 I want this bag. but at the same time it's my first Fendi... the heart has its reasons that reason ignores 😂

    You should also ask for an extra little plastic bag of sequins in case this happens again a few years down the line and they no longer able to provide the service at least you can have it repaired by someone else.

    I always thought the piettes were not secured with the design on these bags when I finally saw them in person. I'm sorry you experienced this. But it's the design that's not right. They're gorgeous to look at though.

      I think you have to make that choice lovely, my advice, only purchase through a person (not an online transaction). With a person you have a point of contact, someone who can send you photos, arrange to video it and give you some assurance that if things do go wrong you have a contact.

    Dayle I’m so sorry the much awaited raspberry sequin bag wasn’t on par. I have been mulling over the difference between SATC “Purple Rain” baguette & yr raspberry recently acquired. Did you notice any difference in the cotton thread between the 2? So glad that Fendi have given you some options, hopefully yr baguette is repaired to yr satisfaction. You know my opinion on individually knotted sequins, surely a fashion house would of thought of a better or stronger way to affix sequins? Anyhoo we all are waiting to see the outcome. 😘💐🙋🏼‍♀️

    It’s disappointing but it’s not that big a deal. They said they would fix it or refund it. That’s perfectly fair. Plus,you have 40 other fab bags to rock until it’s fixed.

    NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Not the little pink beauty!!! I'm happy they are dealing with this swiftly. I attach sequins by hand and even then you don't tie them off individually. It's done generally like tambour embroidery and it's usually fairly sturdy but in your case it looks like the thread broke. I mean were it mine, I could fix it myself but for that money they can and should deal with this swiftly. Fendi need to know about it and I'm glad to see its in hand. (Hint, it should be fine. That happens with sequins and its not a big drama to fix as long as you have access to the sequins to replace.)

    Your not supposed to do that, each sequence is to be stitched and I do 3 loops and tie off every few, it's why it's so expensive to buy!

    How long did the repair take? I have to send my new sequin baguette out for sequin repair . The color on the sequins was rubbed off when I received it. Is it worth it?

    That stinks about your bag but I'm glad Fendi is going to make it right (as they should). I'm surprised, as you said, that the sequins aren't individually secured. Surely they knew things like this were bound to happen so why not do their best to prevent it?

    Is it stated every sequin is hand sewn ? if not I take it the repair will be x are the whole of the bags made in Rome or are they out-sourced , like LV if only one part eg. the zip is made in France the rest can technically be made in China. I do hope you get your bag back in time for Meredith's wedding but if not I'm sure your new choice will be fab 😘

    Any brand’s products can have a problem. What makes a difference to me when it comes to LUXURY houses is - how do they handle the defect or problem, or do they even try? What used to be a given, level of service, is absent as we’ve seen (possibly except for their VIPs). I’m happy to hear Fendi hasn’t “given up”! They’ll fix it or refund you - what more can we ask?!
    Sequined and embroidered bags are inherently more delicate and “risky”. That’s part of what makes them so beautiful. 🤷‍♀️ If it’s too much risk v. rewards for someone that’s their prerogative.
    If we all liked the same fashion the same amount, how boring would the world be?! We’d end up with one choice for every category. Shudder.

    Really disappointing that this happened but your pragmatic approach is fabulous. Unfortunately these things can happen and as long as the brand take steps to make it right without putting too much responsibility on you as the customer that feels okay ! I am so pleased you decided to keep it and repair. Hope it comes back to you swiftly and that you find it as captivating the second time you open it as you did the first ☺️☺️🌺🌺

    I’d repair it, as well. I’m sorry you won’t have it for the wedding, but it will be worth it, having it repaired. Do show us what you intend to wear! Being outraged is worthless, I agree. It will be worth it in the end! Extremely disappointing, yes, but outrage would be a waste of time. 😊

    Those comments saying "I would neeeever buy such a delicate piece" are just by clueless people. Fendi has countless vintage bags made 20 years ago where sequins are still fine to this day. It's about quality and sewing technique - nothing else. So stupid comments like this come from an unkind, jealous, pseudo-know-it-all corner. Yuk.
