The problem with this deck is that everyone is gonna target you as the archenemy. You’re gonna need some ways of keeping your commander and permanents safe. This precon has little to none of that. Otherwise, you’re gonna get downed early on.
If anyones ever played the board game cosmic encounters this deck reminds me of Tick Tock, whwre if left unchecked theres basically a counter on how long the game goes and you as the tick tock player become the villain of the table, kinda cool!! ❤
What camera do you use? Looking for something like yours for spelltable? Also great video helped out alot for first time commander player with this deck
i've put all will be one (an enchantment) into the deck to ping them whenever my commander gets a counter basicly speeding up their demise and drawing their attention away from the key cards on the field
The more i play this guy, the more i just want to turn him into nekusar. The force damage on draws is the best tech im finding. Mana ramp upgrades and draw spells. Destruction and control can be easily upgraded and the deck runs great, but it feels slow until you hit valagavoth
I noticed that too. 2 damage to all opponents and 5 to you every turn is crazy. kinda surprised they didn't put psychosis crawler in the deck, i don't think hes that much. I might put in roiling vortex too.
@@EduardoGarcia-go5cvhypothetically speaking, every trigger from your commander while Vision is out will decrease your life total considerably by the time it gets back to your turn.
I actually lost a game because the other guy played abundance which puts cards into your hand as opposed to drawing them. He would've died had he not had that on the field.
@@GSIron I did not. I made the mistake of not playing my commander again after initiating blasphemous act on the board to wipe the opponents boards and to deal 13 to brash taunter and an opponent. In that turn I had both brash taunter and valgavoth fight someone's grothma to draw a bunch. It was a wicked turn but I had a hand size and dumped all my removal spells and kept a hand of consistent damage cards. Not casting my commander again, I fell victim to rakdos card shortage. Never again.
I don’t think lightning grieves is necessary. While the haste part is nice, because of the ward - pay 2 life we want opponents targeting him for the card draw advantage
2 life is nothing in commander, so drawing 1 card for destruction is not worth it imo. There’s too much instant removal for it to ever trigger itself anyways.
There's no way I want them targeting for a card draw. Not in a deck where there's less counters for me to stop destruction. I'm going to want to add Manabarbs, roiling vortex and other cards similar to guarantee damage and the trigger. Personally I think Lord of Pain is the best commander option though
Shroud stops it being targeted by anyones spells, not just opponents, that's hexproof that's just opponents. Prob just a mistake in saying it but something i noticed
are you sure that each player takes two or three damage per turn. It says that whenever an opponent loses life for the FIRST time during each of their turns they lose a life. Does that mean the upkeep combat and end step are all different turns?
Great question. Upkeep, combat, and end step are all different phases of the same turn. Valgavoth will draw you a card when an opponent loses life during any of the phases mentioned above, as long as it was the first instance of life loss, any subsequent loss of life during that same turn will just be damage and nothing more. After an opponent passes the turn, it will a new set of phases for your next opponent and the same set of rules will be applied
Nah it's fine, you can always play around a deck and make deals. Keep in mind Group Slugs are always the groups target bc they consistantly do damage 😂

@@GhostlyGhost333 it has archenemy cards if you play like that.
This is gonna be my first Commander deck that I'm picking up tomorrow and I'm already stoked!
😮 very nice explanations. Hopefully i will get the deck. The aftermarket price is getting crazy 🤣
This was an exceptional video especially for new players, much appreciated!

Love all the vídeos you make with the precon....waiting for the aminatou deck!
I'm working on it!
I keep forgetting to draw a card whenever I give valgavoth a +1/+1 counter. Thanks for the reminder.
@@daeronsingollo4131 I did the same thing tonight for my first time playing commander with this deck lol

AMAZING addition
Always try to have V on the field when you've got your damage output online. Card draw in rakdos is immaculate.

I don't understand how it does 5 damage to you ?

Thank you ! Great video
Convert it to jund and use the mana burn guy
Awesome explanation bud

If you drew into the chaos warp lol

Tbf, sometimes id rather the opponent sac a creature than draw a card wrt mogis
If youre looking to add something, mana barbs is wild.

Nice!
I’ve put about 80 bucks in upgrades in the deck and I’ve yet to win a game with it my luck with it is shit 😂 let my buddy play it and went insane
Is there an OG-Cup where you only play with precons? Since I am new to MTG I dont have those wicked upgraded decks yet.. :(
You can play with that nobody is playing anything that strong! See you the discord!
Winter is coming
I think if you put the boots on Valgovoth, you can’t add counters anymore
You can
Yeah the effect putting counters on valgavoth is on valgavoth, nothing is targeting there
This whole deck should be banned as it seems un-fun to play against.

@@murphyspell7125 nah. This is a group slug deck. It can be fought against and be shut down. There are worse commanders out there than Valgavoth.
@murphyspell7125 this is such a wild take. If you believe that there are so many decks you'd want banned
Group slug is more fun to play against than group hug, at least it doesn't slow the game to a crawl
