This made me feel much better about my Stormsunder pledge. It's the kickstarter back I'm most anticipating. If they ever do a reprint I'll have to look into Wild Assent. Thanks for the review!
Happy to help :) This blew me away...it's a ton of fun although you really do have to be prepared to houserule a ton of things as you go and just figure it out later.
One of the reasons why I'm keeping this game is that the base pledge doesn't take up a lot of shelf space, and it's super easy to organize. There are not an abundance of pieces and components to worry about. This is something I value more and more.
This was my first KS back (and still my most expensive). After more than two years and seemingly endless excuses, my interest had waned considerably. This review has renewed my excitement, so thanks for posting this. Now I just have to wait another two or three months (or more) for general fulfillment.
It's one of the first for me from when I started diving into ks I suppose to backing sporadically, size very excited to have this arrive and be awesome
I am really excited to finally receive Wild Assent after 2 years of anticipation. Thank you for making this feel like it was definitely worth the wait!

Great review. I came close to backing, but had zero interest in the skirmish mode and didn't need KDM-lite since I have KDM. If it did not have the 1v1 content, I probably would have backed. P.S. The board art looks good to me.
7:41 funny. there's similar discussion on the mage knight board game forums regarding how many people have actually 'played' the game given how mechanically dense it is and how common rules errors are

I totally agree with your opening comments. I backed several projects pre-Covid, some of which will be delivered almost a year late (though not entirely due to the epidemic in some cases), and my interest in some of them has now hit rock bottom.
@@BoardGameCo Well, Archon was more of a chess game with a 1v1 skirmish mode that decided the taking of a piece. The whole "Rulebook" section of the video Alex might as well been talking about KD:M, like point for point and it doesn't end there, SO many comments that could be made of either game, like over and over again it's almost uncanny.
I noticed the camera is in auto-focus mode and keeps switching between trying to focus on the miniatures and the background boxes. Might be worth having someone sit in for you and manually focusing the camera so it's not always trying to focus. If the camera has a motor driving the lens focusing, it could save on the lifespan of the camera, while giving cleaner videos.
