You prolly dont care but if you're bored like me during the covid times then you can watch all of the new movies and series on instaflixxer. I've been watching with my gf for the last couple of weeks :)
Walked into my FLGS last week and picked this game up on a whim with the expansion. Last copies in the store. Played 4 games so far and no regrets whatsoever on the impulse purchase. Glad y'all like it, too. The expansion does improve the game with additional stuff that are easily integratable even for new players.Wont ever play without it. So far, best light strategy game of the year for me so far and replaced Red Rising in my collection (I know, different games but I only have so much shelf space).
The orange gem isn't counting towards the orange cards. So you would have 9 time 7 = 63. And the 3 points on the gem you would add by the value of all of your coins. Very fun game!
According to my rulebook, the golden crystal doesn't actually count as +3 for the goldminers but is just flat +3 points in the end. so You ended up getting 9*10 instead of 9*7 for your yellow ones which would mean you gave yourself 90 yellow points instead of 63.
Very Fun! Thanks for the video. Looking through the comments YES there is a scoring app for Apple and Android. Nidavellir and the expansion Thingvellir is available for pre-order in the US now. The game will be available in mid-April.
I'm surprised no one sang along with you after that first "sweet Caroline"!!! Nice review, I've been putting off buying this game for too long, now it's time to hit that "order" button! 😉
For a 3 player game you should remove 2 coins of 7, 9 and 11 so there is only one of each. This is very very important in the first 2 rounds for getting a "free" +1, if two players go for the 4 + 5 exchange. So at 4:30 Rina should have gotten a 10 as there would be no 9 available (Shira took a 9 at 4:03). This creates a very strong RPS R1 and balances the fact that someone will have a higher gem for tiebreaks.
this game is so much fun, because its so light and easy. its my Chillout game. i really hope the expansion is good. hope to see it on your channel with the same group played and reviewed.
Bidding and you don't lose your coin/value instead you upgrade your coin/value. Even when you don't get what you want it probably builds to the special/brother cards. Never did like bidding games but this looks awesome.
I'm looking to buy this game and I've seen a tutorial so please correct me if I'm wrong. At 18:07, you traded your 9 and 6 coins to get a 15 but you kept your 9 and returned the 6 to the bank. I thought you had to give away your highest, which would be the 9 and not the 6. Or have I misunderstood the rules?
I've really enjoyed my plays of this game. My most interesting hand was to balance my columns and I ended up getting 6 heroes but I ultimately still lost... FYI, this game is in alpha on Board Game Arena.
@@BoardGameCo : he did enjoy the first 3-4 plays, but he feels like you have to build your army of mercenaries throughout the whole game, only to fight... nothing in the end. Could have been something quite easy and quick, like reach a specific score or complete a few missions that would be different every time you play, etc...
I really like Splendor. Marvel Splendor is one of my daughters favourite game, This looks a little heavier and I think the main reasons she like Splendor is it's simplicity. How much more complex is this?
Hi Alex. Where did you get the table pad you and Quackalope guy has? Heard you mention it. Like your channel better. Lol don’t tell him though. :) ha ha
I love this game but you should know that there's a scoring app. I don't think I'd play it if I had to manually score it every game. It's like doing taxes lol.
Whatever stuff. You are 1 vs 2, sorry it was a lost cause... It is a good game this, a bit funny for us Scandinaians when people use these names but it is a good game wheter a new player or not.
This game is so accessible for newer gamers and has enough there to hold the attention of more experienced gamers.
Thumbs up!
Yes! It's so solid.

@Trent Miles yup, been using instaflixxer for since november myself :D
My favorite lightweight game. Absolutely love it and can't wait for Thingvellir expansion in April
Yes! I'm looking forward to it :)

been waiting for what you think of this game!
It's a blast :)

Yep, only 3 points are added to your end score from the Gem. Such a fantastic game, I just picked it up myself!!
18:12 Hello, you should have kept the 6 and turned in the 9 to get the 15 coin.
Played this for the first time today (also a 3p game) on Board Game Arena, and had a blast. Definitely a winner!
Glad you enjoyed :)

Awesome :) Looking forward to them both hitting the market :)

Once we get it :)
I see from the first few seconds of the video that the cards are already sleeved? That’s a good sign you might like the game :)
01:16 I thought so too but only twice! Alex fooled us by using similar sounding words!
Lol yep :)
I like shirah's performance in the Netflix show the last kingdom as Brida.
Lol that's awesome.
Wow! A Newsies reference with Carrying the Banner? Nice!
Newsies is excellent :)

"The more cards the better" probably summed up the game.
Lol yes :-)
At 18:08, is there a reason you put back the 6 instead of the 9?
Mistakes were made...good thing I didn't win this game :)
I'm eagerly anticipating this game to hit New Zealand retail! Unfortunately we can often be months behind the US
I’m sold adding to cart
Enjoy it :)
I usually dislike bidding games and this one is just fantastic.
Yes!
Love this game! I think it could be a sleeper hit this year after the US release
It's going to be, this isn't going to be the next splendor....a drop too complex, but perhaps the next century series.
I've really enjoyed my plays of this game. My most interesting hand was to balance my columns and I ended up getting 6 heroes but I ultimately still lost... FYI, this game is in alpha on Board Game Arena.
I love this game, haven't played it enough tho!
It's so good :)
Just a side note... You need to discard 2 7's, 2 9's and 2 11's from play in a 2-3 player game... So first bit, second pick would be a 10 :-)
Thanks! We haven't been altering the coin selection at all for different play accounts!
How does this compare gameplay-wise to Abyss and Conspiracy (it is a no match on the art unfortunately)?
Haven't played conspiracy, very different than abyss in my opinion
The Pilot G-2, the only pen worth using!
I'm not particular :) I Did love Zebra pens for awhile...but moved past them.
Ugh! Not the worst gel pen out there but far from the best. :P
Is there a date for the US release? Loved this play through! Thanks again!
Not sure exactly.
What size are these card sleeves?
Like this game a lot as well, even though it hasn't hit the table in month because my main gaming partner feels it lacks something in the end-game :(
Interesting, in what sense?

What sleeves did you use for them?
How it plays for 2 players?
Haven't yet tried at 2, only 3 and 4.
It’s a great game in my opinion. Btw, I’m looking for a table cover like yours. Can you let me know where you got it? Thanks!
I really like Splendor. Marvel Splendor is one of my daughters favourite game, This looks a little heavier and I think the main reasons she like Splendor is it's simplicity. How much more complex is this?
My only question about this game, is it better than for sale ?
Hi Alex. Where did you get the table pad you and Quackalope guy has? Heard you mention it. Like your channel better. Lol don’t tell him though. :) ha ha
Hahaha Alex is much easier on the eyes. Quakaninny has a big bald head...and a ponytail?!
It's a big deal to let your baby chew on game bits...not cause the baby is eating ink...it ruins the pieces! Hahaha
Lol yes
Newsies!
Lol yep :)
I love this game but you should know that there's a scoring app. I don't think I'd play it if I had to manually score it every game. It's like doing taxes lol.
Lol, we play 75% of our games on Saturday and for religious reasons can't use a phone...we get used to scoring even without the pad.
@@BoardGameCo truly a black sabbath indeed when you have to add up nidavellir
Alex, you shuffle like someone that knows card tricks. Any close up magic in your past?
How much are you all sleeping these days 🤪
Right now 12 hours past 3 days, but that's unrelated :)
Whatever stuff. You are 1 vs 2, sorry it was a lost cause...
It is a good game this, a bit funny for us Scandinaians when people use these names but it is a good game wheter a new player or not.
more whatever aka stuff is better.
Lol yes
So is delicious for baby 😂
