    Thank you Matt. This video rules. I just changed my battery on the 05 Turbo-PT. The airbox trick worked. I unclipped the top and pulled the bottom out and the rest was easy peasy. Keep up the good info / work Sir.

    Watched it, again, Matt, because I needed to do it, again! 🙄😆😆😆 Thanks for leaving it up!

      Have no fear I plan to leave all my repair videos up. The only reason I would take one down is if I found the information in it to be somehow miss guiding, but typically my repairs are proven before I ever publish the video so that’s an unlikely event. Thanks for watching!(-:

      @@CarswithNash Thanks for replying, both times. 😁👍👍
      (Oh, and a little caveat: I NEVER changed my battery the last time. I was going to be lazy, as I oft am, 😆, and have a mechanic shop do it, but, somehow, after a couple of necessary jump-starts, for whatever the reason, I was able to survive for a little longer on the old battery. But, by this time, I could NOT hold out, any longer. 😉)

    I LOVE ❤️ this guy, in that he's CRAZY DETAILED!! 👍👍 I'm a man of specificity, so I can relate, completely.
    Back to viewing this a second time, since, you guessed it, I have to change my battery again!! 🤦 Lol

      I'm so totally with you on that JD. Some folk don't like that trait in others but I'm not one of them. I'm just like Matt, in that manner, I have high attention to detail and accuracy and specification works fine with me. You go Matt!

    Many thanks for the PT Cruiser GT Turbo video only.
    I just replaced my battery with confidence.
    However, the fresh air intake duct does not allow me to extract the air box.
    But now it's good, everything is in place 😉 👍
    Big up from France 🔵⚪️🔴

    I can't believe you just said that about the battery. You disconnected the ground. The positive can no longer short out.

    Brother throw some vise grips on the terminal and a lot easier with a handle on the battery😊

    I actually wish you had shown the removal of the airbox completely, emphasis on any connectors airbox that might need to be released and how to release them because I can't get the airbox out to remove battery. The box don't have enough give to allow moving it back to get battery out. 2001 turbo pt cruiser.

      The airbox just fits down into rubber grommets, they can get dry and sticky so sometimes they are pretty tough to pull up but they do just pull straight up. Once you get it out put some Vaseline on those rubbers and they will slip back together much easier.

    This a very helpful video, thanks. With the battery disconnected does the radio have to be reprogramed after? With the Negative battery lead disconnected it is real hard to get a spark from the Positive post, that is why the negative lead gets disconnected first. Thanks again

    • @CarswithNash
      @CarswithNash  2 роки тому

      Still if your wrench was to connect the positive terminal to any ground point it would create a dead short, that’s what I was warning against. Glad you found the video helpful.

      @@CarswithNash I just want to say thanks again, the replacement went a lot easier after watching the video. Those little metal posts seem to have a magical attraction to anything metal that comes near them. I had no fireworks. I had a spare battery hooked up because the exchange would take more than a day -- the cable became disconnected just before I had the new battery hooked up, and the radio had no issues.

    Great video. Unfortunately, the bolt that holds the bar down over the battery on my cruiser is rusted and I can not get it off. I tried hand and power and nothing will get it to move more than a cpl milometers, so it'll be going into the shop for something I should have been able to do, myself. :(

    I wonder if you could use a strap to pull the battery out with after the 1st removal. Leave the strap inside.

    • @CarswithNash

      A lot of batteries come with a strap handle like that but this one had been removed.

    Hi Matt. I just followed your directions to remove the battery from my Turbo PT Cruiser (2005 convertible). I also removed the air box as you suggested. Thank you for the great video showing how to get that battery out.!! The bottom of the air box has oil in it and the little filter to the left from the engine tubing is saturated with oil. Should I be concerned about this? What can I do before I put it all together?

  • @maxinebootie

    As I was working at removing the battery I thought to myself, "There's no way you have to remove the airbox to remove the battery." I guess I was wrong.

    • @CarswithNash
      @CarswithNash  4 роки тому +1

      maxinebootie There might be a way to work around it, but it’s easy enough to pull out and have a nice area to work.
